Just Us Girls Word Week

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
As it is a new month we have Karen Walker joining us
as our October Guest Designer. Welcome to you Karen.

It's our Word Week and Bobby is Hosting
and chose Plaid.
So you all know me and plaid screams Tartan!

Thanks Bobby for a great choice of word
as it is my first Christmas card for the year.

Of course I knew what paper I was going to use.
My bff brought it back from the UK quite a few years ago
and I treasure every wee piece and use it sparingly.
You know how it is with special paper - scared to use it.
My deer is from CUTplorations and the paper I used
is a very stiff sheet that tears easily so I cut it out
after I adhered it to sticky paper.
Added some ribbon and a few stars with sentiment die
from CUTplorations
You can see them both at the STAMPlorations Store
Adhered to green card onto white base.
Pop over and see what our Guest Designer Karen
and the Team created this week.
Come join us and be in the running for Chic of the Week
and you could be joining us in the New Year.
Thanks for coming by.

A Pretty Butterfly Tag for Creative Artiste.

Where did September go? Seems like I blinked
and I was in a flip to make my project for
October's Anything Goes Challenge at

I had been working on a little something but
at the end of the day wasn't happy with it
so started all over again with something totally different.
As I was racing to meet my deadline I didn't take photos
as I worked but it is an easy make so you will see a few
close up pics below and a list of products of what I used. Sorry!

I cut my tag template from heavy cardboard that was
the backing from a paper pack.
Background was smooched with lots of
Lindy's Magical Sprays/Powders
Stenciled with White Grit Paste, Inked using
Tim's New Crackling Campfire,
Blue Archival Ink and Gelatos. Art Alchemy Fire Ruby
Cream Mesh backed my butterfly piece - which happens to be
what you adhere to the inside of a new book. Framed in blue.
The middle butterfly is coated with Crystal Glaze.
Pearls and Tied Cheesecloth.

Don't forget to pop over and see what the Talented Team
created this month and hope you are inspired to
add your Mixed Media Make to our Gallery.
You just need to use multiple mediums.

Thanks for dropping in.
Love reading your kind comments.

The STAMPlorations Gals are Back

Here we are again after our little hiatus
refreshed and ready to showcase more
amazing products from STAMPlorations
Once more I am part of the Stencil Challenge
where we showcase our creations -  using stencils of course!
Any Project Any Style.
Here's my take using two of our stencils.

The stencil on the right is the Checkers Square Stencil.
I started by smooching my background with Lindy's Magicals
and Nuvo Shimmer Powder.
I then added some white texture paste
through the above stencil
lightly showing parts of the background.

On the left I have used the new to me
I can see me using this one 'a lot'
Using Little Birdie Embossing Texture Paste
I heat embossed to puff it up.
I added Art Alchemy wax
in Indian Pink and some Gold Mica Powder.
on the white squares and on the background.
Sentiment is from an older stamp/die set

Finished by distressing the edges and adhering to
white card base.

Mix It Up Challenge #42

It's the first of the month and my post is for
the latest Challenge at Mix It Up
It's Anything Goes but we do have
our Option which is Distressing!

I recently showed my good friend
Aussie Annie a card I made using the
Retired Botanical Blooms SU Stamp/Die Set.
I do love using it as there is so much you can do with it
hence I decided I would use it for her Birthday Card.
By the time this goes live Annie will have received it
so no surprise when she checks my blog out.
It was also a golden opportunity to use the
Option of Distressing - just fitted in nicely.
The background is smooched and sprinkled multiple times with
Lindy's Cathedral Pine Green Spray and
Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Solar Flare.
I love how the spray gave me instant splatters!
Die cut the flowers and leaves, inking a few tiny flowers,
 distressing the edges
and attached to white card base.
Pearls were added to the centres of the flowers
A simple Birthday Sentiment finished it off nicely.

That's it for me.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates made
and come join in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in.
