It's Word Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and welcome to a new Month of Challenges at
It's Word Week with Vicki Hosting and choosing Triangles.
We have a new Guest and a big welcome to
Joyce Mehrberg.

I had a lot of fun making my card especially with the
placement of my multitude of triangles.
I was looking for something colourful and came across
a piece that was just that in my bit box.
After placing them they looked rather ordinary so decided to
add an embossed Kaisercraft Chevron background.
Sentiment is from SU. Added a bit of hand drawing
to it and attached to metallic coloured card base.
Pop over and see what Joyce and the Girls
have created and come join in this week's
fun word challenge.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
in the running for a Guest Spot next year.
Thanks for dropping in

Creative Chaos for Creative Artiste MM

Well the heading says it all!
Welcome to my 'finally finished' project for
this month's challenge at

I thought I had chosen something simple
and make another Mixed Media with a DVD!
Wrong!
I added gesso to my dvd then lots of colours
with a mix of sprays/powders then -
it all went wrong after that.
I wanted to add some black text.
I used a stencil and that landed up the
biggest mess so of course I wiped what I could
off and all the lovely shimmery colour went with it too
so for some shine I added some clear rock candy.
Next mistake was the wrong colour spray so wiped that
and found I had a nice coloured cracked background.
To diffuse the darkness I stenciled randomly
with white texture paste. This then gave me the chance
to add text but this time stamping with Archival Ink yay!
I am thinking at this stage I am going to salvage this.
Had a play around with my dream weaver chipboard
adding umteen different colours to try and blend in with
my background. It needed a backing which I was happy with -
after more stenciling/inking. Decided I needed yet more using
Stampendous Embossing enamel but the bluey speckles
didn't front (darn) but looked okay with the bronze.
Still needing more I added some
white and coloured cheesecloth. Added a big gem
and a sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz to
finally have something finished just in time
to add with my Talented Team Mates creations at
As I wasn't sure it would really turn out I
didn't take progress photos as they may have just been binned!
Here's a few close ups!

There you have it! A bit chaotic but I
got there in the end. Sure hope you don't
have any issues when you create yours for
this month's challenge. See you over in the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time to visit.

Creativity takes Courage

Hello November! Not long now till this year
will be over. No doubt we are all hoping for a better 2021
but till then
It's time for our New Steampunk Challenge
and this month we are looking for the use of cardboard
in the steam/grunge/industrial style.

Here's my Canvas Make.

There's lots going on here starting with a blank canvas.
Added gesso and then steampunk stenciled my background, the
required cardboard (corrugated)
and placing of elements of all sorts from my stash.

I then went on my merry way with colours
after I had added black gesso.
Powders from Lindy's Magical's, Sprays,
Nuvo and Brusho Powders.
Finished with lots of  Art Alchemy Waxes
and sentiment from Tim Holtz.

Here's a few  a few close ups!

I am enjoying the challenge of steampunk and I admire
and am in awe of the talent of my Team Mates.
Pop over and see for yourselves.
Be like me and just jump right in and see how creative you can be
and add to our Gallery. You could be a Prize Winner
from one of our Generous Sponsors!

Sending this over to the We Love to Create Blog

STAMPlorations November Stencil Challenge

Hello and Welcome to my creation for this month's

I have been out of town for a few weeks and came home to
an abundance of goodies from STAMPlorations and I had to
use just a few here.

As time is short I made a CAS card
using  Lindy's Screamin' Banshee Black Magical's
(love the shimmery colours  it creates)
for the background adding white texture paste with my new

After that was dry I cut part on an angle
cut from the
I then cut another piece slightly larger
to use as a mat. This was smooched with
the Magical's and popped.
Finished with adhering to white card base.
Pop over and see what all the STAMPploration Family
created for this month and come join us.
There's always prizes to be won.
Thanks for dropping in.

Thinking of You

Hello and Welcome to our Mix It Up
November Anything Goes Challenge.
This month is a fun option - we'd love to see you
Make Your Own Background!

If you follow my block regularly you will have already seen
a card very similar to this one.
In fact I made them at the same time, not knowing
which one I would use for which challenge.
My background is a mix of Lindy's Magical's,
Oxide Inks and Nuvo Powders.
I used ARTplorations Evolution Stencil
with distress crackle paint and clear rock candy.
While the candy was still wet I added glitter.
Sentiment is a die cut from an
 Australian Company - Crafts4U.
Attached to orange card base to finish.
Pop over and see how my Team Mates
show off their background makes
and come join the fun this month.
