Tag it for TREND Week at JUGS.

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and I am Hosting.

I like to add dimension on most of my cards
and my thoughts went to 'Add a Tag'
so that is what I went with.

I had done a card similar a long time ago and decided
I would make another in the same layout.
I like the idea of the corrugated cardboard behind the tag
so used that as my starting point.
My card base is kraft and topped with cream paper
to match my postage tag.
Here are the other products I used -
Background is SU Beyond the Basics
Butterfly/floral stamped image is unknown
as a friend gave it to me.
She also made the crochet flower.
Crochet cotton, pearls
and another brad (doing well with them lately)
Inks are -  Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
Abandoned Coral & Vintage Photo
Memento Teal Zeal
Sentiment is Inspired by Stamping.
Foam squares for more dimension.

Another card for Always Playing with Paper #59

The current challenge over at
Always Playing with Paper is running for 2 weeks
so I got to create another card for their great Sketch.

I decided to get some Kraft paper out and
emboss my images in white and clear embossing powder
(for the background)
The stamp set I used is SU - Morning Meadow
Sentiment is also from that set.
I popped it for dimension punched the corner with a
Fiskars punch twice adding the white from the holes for effect.
Finished with gold pearls and a tiny butterfly by SU.

Thanks for popping in.

A RRRUFF day.

I just had to play with the current challenge at
The Paper Players which is Raining Cats & Dogs
for a few reasons.
My sister has had a bad fall and is in hospital
hence a Get Well card but with a difference.

Now we both love 'Scottie Dogs' being Scots ourselves.
and
I have been itching to use this Scottie dog die
(Marianne Die LR0039) as my hubby
bought it for me for Christmas.
I have had the sentiment which belongs to
Inkadinkado for quite some time
and thought it a perfect
cheer me up for my card.
I know there will be quite a few 'ruff days'
when she gets out of hospital.
I used basic black/white & red card stock
some tartan paper on the side his collar
and a few small hearts.
Paper pierced around the edges
foam squares for dimension
a few bones inked from the die
and there it is finished.
Oh and I added a white dot for the eye and nose.

Thanks for dropping in

It's all about LOVE.

It's getting to that time of year when
Love is in the Air
so what better excuse is there to make a card
to say 'I Love You'
for our latest challenge at Crafty Cardmakers
and Hosting is Julie.

This was a simple card to make
and here are the products I used -
Black Silver and Red card stock/paper
Love Die is from Kaisercraft Decorative Die
Flourish - Memory Box Loveland Corner
The hearts in the Love triangle are
the cut outs from the flourish.
The tiny heart punch is Sullivans
and stamped from a SU stamp
Finish off with some rhinestones.

Don't forget to pop over to our blog
to see what the other Designers have created.
I am sure you will want to play with this challenge.

See you there!

Sketch Time at Always Playing with Paper

Here I am finally able to play with paper again
having had an extremely busy few weeks with
Doctor's Appointments and procedure for hubby who is now
home and in recovery mode - which means I do most
of the heavy work around the house for the next 6 weeks.
***
I couldn't wait to play with the current sketch challenge over at

I decided I would flip my card around and go from there.
I loved the idea of the circles on the sketch below
hence I got out my circle stencil
and gave my background the bokeh technique.
using Memento Lulu Lavendar and Sweet Plum.
The leaves, tiny stamped flowers and sentiment are from
Gina K Designs Stippled Nature.
Memento Pistachio for the leaves and
SU Rich Razzleberry on the flowers.
My bigger flowers are also from SU
Flower Shop and Petite Petals.
They go so well together.
Did a little spritzing and finishing off with
popping the flowers and adding pearls to the centres
and liquid pearls to the tiny flowers.
Used basic card stock and rounded off the corner.
Oh and of course I used my favourite colour - purple.
***
Below is the sketch to follow.

I really enjoyed this challenge and look forward to seeing
next weeks Colour Challenge - one of my favourites.

Thanks for dropping in.
