Believe in Yourself

Hello and Welcome to Trend Week at Just Us Girls.
Hosting this Challenge is Bobby choosing
Texture Paste

I recently received a few new stencils in the mail
and wanted to try them out.
The ARTplorations Faces - Gorgeous is one I chose.
I had the background in my Bit Box
thinking it was nice and feminine.
I used DecoArt Texture Sand Paste which gave the stenciling
a gritty raised effect. I also got some Art Alchemy Metallic Wax
in Vintage Gold so giving it a go using my finger
through the stencil after the paste was dry
it added a dramatic result.
If you haven't used these waxes before you will be pleasantly
surprised with the lovely smell that lingers on from them.
I then heat embossed my sentiment
from STAMPlorations Bloomful with gold powder.
Cut it out with a stitched die, framed it in white
and popped to white card base.

Pop over and see what our Guest Marlena
and the Team created using Texture Paste
and come join in this week with this
'Oh so Popular' Trend.
You could be our Chic of the Week going on to be
chosen as our Guest in August.

For Your 'LOVE'

It's time to show off what I made for this month's Challenge
where we can create Anything Mixed Media
using multiple mediums.
Here is my project for this month.

I started by sealing my project with a coat of gesso then
adding some stenciling with texture paste.
and working on what elements to add.
Adding jute, cogs, keys, dry wall tape, a few other bits and bobs
and my heart cutout was covered with
plasterer's fibafuse  for texture.
Covered it all with white gesso.
Now to add texture to my heart.
I found an interesting article on YouTube where
you add your elements (my heart) then cover it with
scrunched foil, using a stylus to bring those shapes
to the surface.
I started adding colours to my canvas
and you can see the result from the stylus here on the heart.
Love the smell from the Art Alchemy Waxes.
Some splatters - covering the heart.
then added some cabachons that were painted from the back
and several layered 'love' die cuts heat embossed several times.

And now my project is done!

Hello Summer!

Hello and Welcome. Today's post is for our
Here is my Hello Summer card (even though it's Winter here in Oz)

and the Very Summery Mood Board for Inspiration.

I took lots of inspirations from here, firstly choosing
the red check mat using my ARTplorations Weaving Stencil
I then got out the STAMPlorations Happy Everything stamps
to ink up my cupcakes, glamed them up and fussy cut.
My butterflies are from
 heat embossed and coloured.
Sentiment is from Hello Coffee.
I have used Tim's Distress/Oxide Inks on my cupcakes
and butterflies.
Sky was coloured with Memento Summer Sky
I then cut my project from
Added a sun in the corner and a cloud partly covering it,
followed by a few tiny flowers to match in the other corner.
Adhered to coloured card stock and on to a brown card base.
These are the products I used from STAMPlorations
