Celebrate 'YOU'

Carol Mc is
Our Host for Word Week at Just Us Girls

Maybe you can guess what it is!

While I was searching for a YOU stamp/die
I came across a pack of quick card fronts from
STAMPlorations (spring floral)
I knew would be perfect after I chose the
sentiment - also from STAMPlorations
(see the good) picking one that
the sentiment fitted nicely.
Stumbled across the flower die
a neighbour gave me and
cut out three from smooching on w/c paper
with Tim's faded jeans and stormy sky.
Die cut two sprays of leaves in a
very pale green and vellum for backing.
Added diamond dust to the centre of the flower,
corner rounded one side and adhered to white base.
Head over and check out how our Guest Wanda
and the talented team used the YOU word
for your inspiration and
come join in with yours to our Gallery.

My Mixed Media Make for Creative Artiste

It's the first Friday of the month and that means it is
My Mixed Media Post for Creative Artiste Mixed Media

I seem to be stuck on butterflies (from Kaisercraft) at the moment
as I die cut the two dies for another project recently,
I have used Canson cold press w/c paper
The background stencil is from Tim's Stone
coloured using Ranger Transparent Texture Paste
and Lindy's Canna Lily Burnt Orange
Die cut my dies for backing the butterfly
I decided I didn't like the top black butterfly so cut
another using the same coloured card stock, covered with
the glossy texture paste.
Random stamping from AALL&Create and Kaisercraft
and swipes with a credit card for interest.
Added some splatters to the butterfly and droplets
Inked the edges and attached to same card stock as the dies.

Head over and check out what inspiration is in store for you
by our Guest Elle and Creative Team,
then get your thinking caps on and come join in
with your Mixed Media Make.
We look forward to seeing where your thoughts took you.

It's 'Anything but a CARD'

The heading says it all -
We are creating Anything but a CARD
for our latest challenge over at

I found this 4in/4in canvas I though would be
a nice choice for this challenge.
It has splatters of bright coloured acrylic paints
touches of liquid pearls and a hint of glitter.
Adhered some cheesecloth, cut out some
bold bright flowers to match the background,
and beautiful butterfly inked with
Tim's Crackling Campfire
and a hint of Lindy's Magical's.
Inked the edges
Liquid Pearls were dotted to the centre.
Sentiment is from Tim's Small Talk.
I do love messing around with paints etc
so this was a fun challenge away from
our usual card making challenge.
Hope you like the idea and join in
with what gets you trying something different.
Don't forget to check out our Team's choices
for your inspiration.

is a cover plate from CUTplorations.
Sentiment - STAMPlorations.

Shine Brightly!

It's Stencil Time over at  Just Us Girls
and Vicki is our Host.

I started my background with
some Lindy's Magical's as I often do, adding some very fine gold shimmer.
Applying my  Peeking Dahlia's Stencil from ARTplorations
loading it up with Distress Grit Paste which gave it that rough look
then added  Art Alchemy Rust Brown Matte Wax
with my finger adding extra to the centre of the flower.
Tore around the edges and corner rounded.
Sentiment is from Tim's Small Talk.
Popped onto white card base to complete.
It's a little different look with the grit paste -
one I was happy with the result. What are your thoughts?
Head over and check out the stencil work from
our Guest Jeanne and the Team.
Look forward to seeing yours in our Gallery.

The Colours of 'Spring'

Today's post is for the Cut It Up Challenge
and we are thinking of "Spring"

I die cut three floral images from Tim's Wildflowers
in colours I thought represented Spring.
Added some stencilling and stamping
behind each one.
The background framing is from the same
card stock as the flowers.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations
inked and hand torn.
Attached to white card base.
Head over and see how my Team Mates
chose to showcase "Spring"
and come join in with yours to our Gallery.

For a 'Dear Friend'

Lisa is Hosting our Mood Boad Challenge at Just Us Girls
with an array of fabulous inspiration for us to share.
As play time is sparse at the moment I went with
something similar I had on my desk from last weeks Challenge.

As you can see there is so much to choose from.

Again I took inspiration from a card I saw on Pinterest Here
I had die cut these flowers along with last weeks, not knowing
which ones I would choose. Inked the torn background and flowers
with Brusho's Leaf Green as the colour would stay a nice mix.
Tore a strip of vellum for the front of the green strip
and the flower heads
Added a MFT die cut STAMPlorations sentiment
and random pearls with tiny ones to the flower heads.
Our Guest Jeanne and the Team have been busy
creating a variety of amazing cards from Lisa's
Spring Mood Board.
Check them out and add yours to our Gallery.

Another Mixed Media Tag for Creative Artiste

It's time for our March Challenge at
Once again I went with a tag theme.

I managed to take a few photos along the way -
starting with my die cut tags

adding dp to both tags, adding some stencilling
to both tags also

sponged around the floral stencil to add more colour
then added some transparent texture paste
and inking the raised texture

Die cut the circle for the front of the tag
adding some random stamping and inking around the edges

Attached the dp to the kraft base after I die cut a
smaller circle then the same for the
inside floral tag and glued the pull out tag

Finally tucking the pull out tag in

and that's a wrap for this month's Mixed Media Make.

Head over to Our Blog to check out what
Mixed Media creations have been created
by our Guests Ella and Majda and of course
the Talented Team for your pleasure.
Come join in with yours to our Gallery.

shaving cream background.
Die cut my Heidi Swapp 'happy die' twice
using the white as a shadow.
The shaped card base and sentiment are from
Uniquely Creative Cross Stitch Arches Die Set.
Birthday stamp is STAMPlorations.
Adding a star to complete.

on to white card base.

For You!

It's our Fun Stencil Week at Just Us Girls
hosted by Sue.
Here is how I played

I used AALL&Create Cracked Wall stencil
with Ranger texture paste and Lindy's Black Orchid Silver
The paste was rather soft and
went behind the stencil so I continued to
cover it completely using my finger
which gave it a nice effect.
The flower die is fromTim's Wildflowers
Sentiment was inked with the same
Lindy's Magical's .
Added a strip of shimmery washi tape
to ground the flower.
Adhered to white card base.
Head over and see how Stephanie
created her stencil card. As it is the last challenge
of the month. A big Thank You to Stephanie as our Guest
for sharing her talents with us.
The Team have also been very creative
so head over and check them all out.
Hope to see yours in the Gallery.

You are 'Special'

Time for our New Challenge over at Cut It Up
and we need it to be
Tied Up with - string, twine, ribbon
(you get the drift)
Here is mine using just a little cream crochet cotton.
Shame I didn't have white but it added another touch of colour.

An easy card using Tim's Wildflower Stems 1
all in white with greenery to the back.
Added some tiny green splatters
that you will see below.
Attached to leathergrain card stock.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations
with the corner torn, adding a pearl to match
the crochet cotton.
Adhered to white card base.
***
the close up of the crochet cotton twirled around the flower head
and sentiment.

Pop in to Our Blog and check out what
the Design Team created - hope
you will join in with your creation.

In the MOOD!

It's time for our Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls
and our Host Elizabeth has chosen a 'pearler'
with so many fun ideas you won't know which one to go with.

and the larger view -

My first thought was washi tape but didn't have any
enough bold bright colours so I dipped into
my 'supply' of dp's, tearing the edges
and die cutting several circles and dots.
Die cut the sentiment shape to match the dp
and framed it.
Sentiment from STAMPlorations fitted nicely.
Added a striped scrap to the side for a bit of extra colour
(a Cecile thing) to complete my card.
There are a lot of 'BRIGHT' ideas over on our Blog
from our Guest Stephanie and my Creative Co Crafters
so head over and check them out.
I'm sure you will want to play with this fun Mood Board
so I will see yours in our Gallery.
