Sketch Challenge #0213 over at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT.

I was really excited when I saw the latest
Sketch Challenge from Wendy over at the House that Stamps Built
and you can find the details HERE

This is the sketch

20131001-190322.jpg

How awesome is that?

I had fun inking up and selectively cutting various
Repeat Impressions Stamps for this one.

Here is what I came up with

I started with basic white card stock and added pink shimmer paper
then white which was stamped randomly with Memento Angel Pink.
I cut the 5 stamped images and backed them in
 black with Spellbinders Lacey Circles.
Behind the circle images I added a small piece of the shimmery pink paper
and added a border with a MS punch. Topped this in white with sentiment from
Stampin' Up - Heard from the Heart stamp set.
All 5 circles are popped and the centre one is backed in pink with a die
from Spellbinders Moroccan Motifs.
Repeat Impressions Stamps used were
Flowering Vine 4314
Daisies & Butterfly - 9203-P
Hydrangea - 9205-O

I am also entering this card in the following challenges -

and

As always Thank You for taking the time to stop by.
 I love reading your comments.

October Blog Hop at IBS

 blog-hop

Inspired by Stamping has been holding an October Blog Hop HERE
and I have had fun getting in early with my Christmas card making.
Thanks Joanna.

I won't have time to upload them all so I will just add
1 last card for this current challenge.

so I decided on this one.

I am not sure where the stamp is from as it has been in my stash for a little while.
I inked the image with SU Rich Razzleberry
and coloured the small uncoloured parts with a gold gel pen.
The sentiment is also from SU - Heard from the Heart.
Added some Starform Stickers to finish.

Challenge 12 at Crafting with Dragonflies.

Good Morning Bloggers

How the last fortnight has flown by.
Admittedly I was away for the best part of it so that is why I think it flew past me.

So today we head on to CHALLENGE #12.
For this fortnight we have another challenge for you and this time it is to make a
Gift Box/Holder and add at least 3 cards.

I saw this tutorial HERE after Kelli showed the Design Team.
I saved it for future reference and it wasn't till Kelli posted her photos
that I realized it was the one I had kept for a rainy day
(didn't rain while I was making it lol)

I pretty well kept to the same theme as the tutorial because
the digi I had picked from our generous sponsor

was perfect for a CHRISTMAS GIFT.
I chose their CHRISTMAS POINSETTIA

I love using this flower at Christmas time
but also any time during the year as it doesn't have to be red.

Here is what I made.

Pretty simple really.
I used green scrapbook paper for my folder.
Red card stock as a backing for my Christmas Designer Paper
and cut the bottom edge with a MS Punch.
Added a few embellishments and tied a Christmas ribbon to the top.
Finished with a Christmas Peg.

The inside I added 2 embellishments.

This is a close up view of the Poinsettia on my cards.

My Folder & Hand Made cards
that fit in the slots at either end.

A close up view of one of my cards.

The snowflakes were heat embossed with glittered embossing powder
and sentiments are from various stamp sets.
I popped the poinsettia flowers on the cards for dimension.

It was nice to get an early start on some Christmas projects
 thanks to our Leader HILDE.

We will have a few more Christmas type challenges a little later in the year.

Thanks again for stopping by to see my latest Dragonfly Creation
and hope to see yours over there soon.

October Blog Hop - Holiday Theme

Another challenge over at Inspired by Stamping is the

and I had fun making another card for this one.

It is nice to get an early start to those Christmas Cards
as it always comes around so quickly.

So here is what I came up with this time round.

I used white card base and topped with blue snowflake designer paper.
Image from IBS December 25 Labels was inked with Silver
and cut out with Spellbinder Circle Die.
I edged the label with sprigs from MS punch
which were lightly touched with Startdust Stickles.
I hand made the bow and also added glitter to the centre piece
which is made from speckled white card stock.
Sentiment is IBS All Year Wishes 2.

I have found both these stamps sets so versatile
and will be well used by Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by

Tutorial Time at IBS

I have had a lovely time in my craft room today
and have made 2 cards for current challenges over at Inspired by Stamping

The first one I am uploading today is for the fabulous tutorial

I must admit I had never thought of doing this
and thought this was something I needed to try.

Here is what I made.

and how

Green and red card stock.
Topped with white and embossed Christmas folder by Cuttlebug.
The double embossing was heat embossed with Whispers Green Glitter
and then the opposite way with Colours of Australia Candy Red
from a Kaisercraft stamp - Woodgrain..
I embossed the IBS December 25 Labels in a darker green
and cut it from Spellbinders Labels 18 inked the outline and popped it.
Added a small strip of green to the left
and several green rhinestones randomly to finish.

A time to be creative with us at Crafting with Dragonflies.

Here we are again over at

Crafting With Dragonflies Challenge Blog

with our LATEST CHALLENGE
and did this make me work outside my comfort zone
but if we put our minds to A CHALLENGE
it can be done and it was so worth it.

Before I begin  - A plug for our sponsor for this challenge and it is

Finally! The stamps you've been looking for. Eureka rubber stamp company Rubber Stamps, Gold Leaf, Foil, and Glass Beads for Stampin, Scrapbooks, Card Making, and Paper Crafts

who by the way supplied us with our digi for this project.
Mine is Most Special Day - 20601.

Now on to what THE CHALLENGE
for this fortnight is

TO CREATE A MINI ALBUM

This is what I made.

My sister recently celebrated her 70th birthday
so I thought the sentiment on the front cover fitted perfectly.

The photos above tell a story.
You see her good friends Joe and Joanne pictured
came all the way from Scotland to SURPRISE her
and as you can see from the first photo they did JUST THAT.
The other 2 photos are a snap I took of them as a memento and the third one is
my sister enjoying her meal with her Patchwork friend Joanne.

On the back page is a photo of our cousin who travelled
to Scotland in 2009 with us, my two sister's and myself.

The middle photo is my sister with her two grand children
(one couldn't wait so sneaked in a bite of the icing)
before helping her cut the cake.
Her daughter made the cake and had a huge bunch of Scottish Thistles on top.
The third one is her giving her husband a thank you kiss for helping
organize her SURPRISE 70TH BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Here are 2 tutorials I followed
and
Tutorial 2 which also has a Video attached from Dawn Griffiths.

I don't think I need to say too much about what products I used
as it was some designer papers
(which my sister had given me and made the use of them more special)
a few flocked images in the centres and some SU ribbon.

Hope you like what I have made and has given you
the inspiration to enter our challenge with one of your own Special Album.

Thanks

Another Male Moment - August Blog Hop - Masculine.

I am still having fun with my new stamps from Inspired by Stamping
and have made another card for the current Male Challenge HERE

Again I went CAS as I think males prefer them that way.

I used basic white card stock and then loaded it up with grey and white frame
then added cut out designer papers.
Popped the main image which is from the new male set
Masculine Tags from IBS
The sentiment is from IBS also and is from Vintage Sayings
appropriate for this image I think.
We could all dream of flying in one of these old vintage planes.
Finished this card off with some variegated twine and button.

That's it for me for now. Hope you come back soon.

Prep your IBS Stamps - Anything Goes Challenge WHW#114

Over at Inspired by Stamping
Joanna has shown us how she preps her brand new stamps
and has made a video HERE for us all to see.

It is an Anything Goes Challenge using the amazing IBS stamps.
How could I not find time to play with my NEW STAMPS?
So I decided to make a CAS card this time using the
Graceful Hydrangea Stamp Set
and Trendy Circle Sentiments for the Sentiment.

I used basic card stock and just layered it.
I inked the aqua paper with versamark and stamped
the hydrangea in a few different spots for highlighting.
The white card stock I pierced and popped the main image
which was inked with Peacock Feathers distress ink
added a little black pearl and there it is.

Thanks for stopping by today

A Father's Day/Male card Challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies

Crafting With Dragonflies Challenge Blog

With Father's Day coming up shortly in Australia (September 1st)
our Leader Hilde thought it an opportune time
to get those Male Cards made in plenty of time.
So this Challenge is to do just that

MAKE A CARD FOR FATHER'S DAY OR JUST A MALE CARD
for those that celebrate the day at a different time of the year.

Our generous sponsors for this challenge are

the somewhat cute somewhat quirky Q K R Stampede rubber stamp company Rubber Stamps, Gold Leaf, Foil, and Glass Beads for Stampin, Scrapbooks, Card Making, and Paper Crafts

who supplied the fabulous image for my card
and the Winner will receive 5 digi images
and

who will be giving 4 digi images also

I picked a truly male orientated digi
and to go with that a really Clean and Simple card that most men like.

I used basic white and brown card stock
 and highlighted my main image
with designer paper from Kaisercraft Pack your Bags Collection.
I did very little to my Ship (digi 21705) by highlighting it with a gel pen
and also did the same for the blue water.
Cut out a further piece of the brown card stock
with a MS Punch added some string and button.
My sentiment was cut from Just Rite Antique Labels and
stamped with Gina K Country Roads - which goes perfectly with my image.

Please also check out what our other Designers have created

I would like to enter this card in the current challenge over at
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes.

So glad you stopped by. I hope you will come back again soon

A Distress Stamping Tutorial at IBS

There is so much happening over at
Inspired by Stamping

Colour challenges Tutorials and More and if you had been checking out my blog
you will see how busy I have been. Just loving it all.

On to the current challenge Kendra has a
and I decided to have a play with another new stamp I recently purchased there.
It is Graceful Hydrangea and I have used the Main Image as my Focal Point
and the smaller one to use as my distressing.
The sentiment is also from that gorgeous set.

I don't know if I have the technique completely right
but certainly enjoyed getting my fingers inked.

I did bling it up somewhat by mixing distress inks and iridescent medium
to my work pad and inked my stamp from there being careful
not to ink it all to try and get that distressed look.
I cut out the main image with Spellbinders Heart Circles
and backed it with plain card stock.
I also used the medium on that image and added liquid pearls
and a small amount of diamond dust to the larger flower
(which is a little hard to see).
Finished with a few pearls in the corner.

Sparkle N Sprinkle - August Challenge

I am back again with another colour challenge
(and I love them as you have guessed)
and this time from
Sparkle & Sprinkle's
and their Challenge for August is a

Aug - Color Challenge

you guessed it
A COLOUR CHALLENGE

and such gorgeous colours they are.

Since this is a challenge for a sparkly craft site I
thought it proper to add some sparkle to my card.

I went for something cas here and below is my take on this challenge.

My base card stock is white and followed up with a burnt orange paper
which was embossed with a Tim Holtz folder and distressed.
I then added a small piece of patterned designer paper and topped it up
with my main focal image which is the beautiful rose -
Temptation from Penny Black.
Heat embossed with glitter embossing powder.
Added 3 Kaisercraft pearls own ribbon and sentiment is popped
and cut out from Just Rite Antique Tags
with the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping Trendy Circle Sentiments.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

It's a MALE THING over at Inspired by Stamping.

A few days ago I got my HAPPY MAIL with my new order from
They had a release recently of their new stamp sets and were Male Orientated.

I was particularly keen to purchase one stamp set in particular - Guitars
You see my husband is a Guitar freak and had his old one he used to
play in a band with (in his youth) restored.
He also loves to get it out and practice until his fingers get sore lol

As it is his birthday later in the week this was a
golden opportunity for me to make him a birthday card he will really love
and of course I can enter it in the

 Inspired-by-Stamping-Blog-H

which happens to be to
Create a Masculine Card Layout or project.

I certainly enjoyed make this card

I have used blue and orange card stock. Stamped the background with a
Kaisercraft grunge stamp and also the stamps from the IBS Guitars.
I cut several circles in different sizes - the 2 for the back of the guitar
and the others for fill.
Also cut out the pick stamps and added to the circles.
The guitar is popped and I added glossy accents and stickles.
Added another pick to go with the guitar.
The sentiment was stamped from the Guitars stamp
and sentiment is from Masculine Tags.

So there you have my husbands birthday card.
I am sure he will be thrilled with it.
