It's Sketch Time again at Atlantic Hearts

Here is a card I made for the current Sketch Challenge
over at Atlantic Hearts.
You can find their blog HERE

I am not completely happy with how this turned out
but maybe I am being a little critical of my own work.
We do that don't we?
Here are some of the products I used
White/Kraft card stock.
Background is made using the
shaving cream technique -
although you can't see too much of it.
The image is heat embossed in white
and is from Stamp It
The background was inked with
Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Stencils
The border is a Stampin' Up punch
Sentiment is also from Stampin' Up.
Finished with some variegated cotton.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope to see you back again soon.

Another Heat Embossed card for The House that Stamps Built.

This is the second card I made for the current
Designer's Choice Challenge at The House

Something completely different from my previous card.
Again I used another of the lovely Repeat Impression stamps
I have in my little collection and perfect for
heat embossing. Thanks Kathy.

I used the RI stamp 1713J - Dandelions
(I know they are supposed to be yellow)
as my focal image (popped)
 and embossed it with
Zing Embossing Powder
Basic card stock
Background is a Sizzix embossing folder
Corner rounder
Sentiment and ribbon are from
Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry
also spritzed with the same colour.

Again I hope you like what I made.
I love to read your thoughts.

It's Designer's Choice at The House - Heat Embossing

My friend Kathy Stacy has one of my favourite techniques
for the current DC Challenge at
The House that Stamps Built Here
and she has asked us to create a card with Heat Embossing.
Thanks Kathy - I love doing this especially with RI stamps.

I have made a couple of card and here is the first one.

I went cas on this one by just using white card stock
The gorgeous flower is from
Repeat Impressions - Daffodils 904W
I cut out an oval from a Spellbinder die for masking
The embossing folder is from Stampin' Up
Sentiment from Inspired by Stamping
Inks - Tim Holtz
Broken Chins/Stormy Sky
Memento - Pistachio Summer Sky
Dandelion/Olive Grove
Black Embossing Powder

So you see it is pretty simple and I will send this off
to a friend who is a little under the weather.

I will post my second card a little later.
Thanks for stopping by.

Time for a change - G is for Glitter at ABC Christmas Challenge

My thoughts turned to GLITTER and CHRISTMAS
for the Current Challenge over at

I think Christmas cards should mainly be CAS as we need to
produce so many. So that is what I decided to do with this card.

Christmas is not Christmas without
Glitter and of course a Snowflake.
So of course I got my favourite (and oldie)
Cuttlebug Snowflake die and cut it out
with this lovely coloured glitter paper.
I chose Gold Metallic Paper as my base
I then topped it with similar paper embossed with
another Cuttlebug Embossing Folder added gold
paper to back my scored gold paper.
Popped my gold snowflake after adding a
Sparklet to the centre.
The sentiment is also an olide but goodie
from Stampin' Up - Heard from the Heart
and inked with Versacolor Gold
Also scored top and bottom of the sentiment.

Thanks once again for stopping by

And while I was at it - I kept on playing

And I kept on playing at the
Mellow Yellow Challenge

I again used the paper and pre coloured image from
and went with a swing card using
basic card stock
embossing folder and
Spellbinder die.
Finished it with some Liquid Pearls and
Glossy Accents on the butterfly.

That's it for now..

Spring is in the Air for JUGS #287 Word Week

Spring is in the Air  - just not where I live.
We are in our Autumn but that doesn't stop me from
making a card with bright cheerful colours.

Sharyn as our Hostess chose SPRING
for Word Week
and I am sure all my friends across the pond
are looking forward to it after a
Long and Cold Winter.

Here is a close up of the butterfly which was fussy cut
after adding crystal effects and popped on top of the image
 but doesn't show the shine.

I also used the following items on my card -
 White & Green card stock
Designer Paper and Image - Fred She Said + the
Pre coloured image called Marigolds & Morpho
Fancy That - Leafy Swirls
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs
Just Rite Tags
Own Ribbon/Micro Beads

It's Mellow Yellow at Top Tip Tuesday

It has been a while since I played with a challenge over at
Top Tip Tuesday but the current challenge has me
playing with Mellow Yellow.

The Script Dies are all the rage at the moment so
of course I 'needed' them. I bought one online and it arrived
in the mail yesterday so after seeing the challenge above
I got straight into cutting that Hello die and made this cas card.
I did say on an earlier post you wouldn't see
 'feathers' on my next post
but there are those stencils that keep calling me instead.
Perfect for a simple background.
***
Here are the products that I used
Basic white and yellow card stock
Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello
(cut several and popped for depth)
TCW Mini Texture Stencil
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink
Stampin' Up Yo Yo Yellow Ink
Friend Sentiment from Stampin' Up - Just Believe
Sequins.
***
#Tip If you have a word that you want to leave a
letter out cover it with washi tape ink up the word
then remove the tape before stamping on your card.
I think I will play with this colour again before the week is out
as it is so bright and colourful with so many possibilities.

Thanks for popping in

Sketch Time for Atlantic Hearts #101

It's time to play with Sketch Challenge #101 at

I know I have Feathers on my brain at present
and that is because a very dear friend sent me the
Four Feathers Stamp/Die from Stampin' Up
and I can't stop playing with it.
I decided to go away from flowers as I had
that set sitting close by. Love it!
***
So here goes with what I used on my card
White & Brown card stock
Stampin' Up Four Feathers Stamp/Die Set
Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil
Tim Holtz Distress Inks in
Forest Moss/Antique Linen
Memento Inks in
Morocco Potter's Clay Peanut Brittle
Jute String
Pop Dots
***
I sure hope you like it and thanks for dropping in.
PS My next scheduled post doesn't have Feathers hehe
but that doesn't mean there won't be
as I may do one on the spur of the moment
after all those feathers are still floating around.

Till next time - Cherrio from

JUGS #286 Photo Challenge

Our Hostess over at Just Us Girls is Cheryl.
Hasn't she picked the most gorgeous
inspiration photo for us as this is
PHOTO WEEK

And as it say 'This picture has it All'
and so many things that inspired me.
They were -
The curve and curtain under the sink so I cut that out with
a Spellbinder die. The lace I dyed to match the photo.
Added some pearls for the handles
The background with the yellow swiss dots is from the tea towel.
The ric rac and ribbon are from the tea towels also.
I backed my flowers (which are at the back of the photo)
by scoring white card stock to create the tiles.
The vase and flowers are from Gina K Designs
Vogue Vases (an old favourite) which is popped.
The flowers I fussy cut and attached them to a Spellbinder die.
Finished off with some coloured bling.
***
I am sure you will also be inspired by this fabulous photo
and pop over and enter your creation at Our Blog
so I will see you there.

Don't forget to check out the other Designers cards
as I know you will be impressed.

So till next time

The coloured background was made using the
shaving cream technique in just 2 colours.

which was embossed in black and spritzed.
Inked the S's in Yo Yo Yellow by Stampin' Up
Added a little ribbon and sequins to finish.

Hope you liked what you saw and pop back in sometime
to see what other challenges inspire me.

Just a 'touch' of colour for JUGS #285 Challenge

It's again COLOUR WEEK at Just us Girls
and our Hostess Nancy has picked a Super One with
just 2 colours and we get to pick the 3rd.
How fabulous is that?
So many colours running through our heads and
what colour will you choose!

Well mine was easy. I have this gorgeous stamp
from Repeat Impressions - Spring Blossoms 1320M
that I knew would work perfectly for this one
by stamping it in black and highlighting
part of it with the beautiful yellow of the daffodil
which was inked with Stampin' Up Yo Yo Yellow.
A pretty simple card with a bit of layering basic coloured cs
popping the cut out daffodil which I added Crystal Effects for shine
and paper piercing I got a great result.
The sentiment is from Gina K Designs which was cut out with
Just Rite Antique Tags and partly tucked underneath.
***
Hop over to our Just us Girls Blog HERE
and check out what the other Designers
and our Guest - Deb have made for your inspiration.
You could be our Guest in May.
See you there!
***
I am going to enter this in the current challenge over at
Time Out Challenge for their Challenge #27 which is
CAS with the optional twist of
Black White and a Splash of Colour.
