It's WIW Colour Challenge Time at The House

I recently won the monthly prize over at
and couldn't wait to ink my new stamps up.
How lucky for me as the colour challenge suited
one of my stamps perfectly.

I am getting this card in by the skin of my teeth as it closes shortly.
The stamp from Repeat Impressions is Lily of the Valley 4308.
I used white and coloured card stock
(which photographed a lot darker than it is)
and a piece of scrap DP
and Spellbinder Die for the focal point of my coloured image.
The tiny flowers I dotted with Flamingo Liquid Pearls.
Added some lace a little bow and tiny sentiment to finish.
I know I hurried this card to get it finished in time but hope
to do give this lovely stamp the justice it deserves next time I ink it.

Thanks for dropping by
Till next time

Trend Week at Just Us Girls

Our Hostess this week is our
Very Talented Vicki
and she has chosen one of my favourites
EMBOSSING.
Easy Peasy right?

As you can see I really do love embossing -
dry and heated.
The paper I used is a Metallic Sculptured paper in cream
I then dry embossed the Cuttlebug Textile folder
and inked over it in Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap
and the edges in Vintage Photo.
Behind that I have inked my main image lightly
in Tim Holtz Antique Linen
Added 2 pieces of the same paper inking the same as above
and curled the top edge.
The image is from Stampin' Up Fresh Vintage
heat embossed with Zing Blush
The bow is made with ribbon from Kaszazz
Sentiment is by Inspired by Stamping
Finished with Kaisercraft pearls.

Don't forget to pop over HERE to see what

It's WORD Week at Just Us Girls

Our Hostess for this week's WORD CHALLENGE is
Cheryl
Now we all know how much we all
LOVE using Twine.

It seems like an AGE since I made a Shabby Chic card
so that in mind I went for some gorgeous dp
and the rest was easy. My favourite colour is purple
so this dp was perfect.

Here is how I made my card.
Card stock is a mushroom colour. I topped it with
the beautiful DP's from Inspired by Stamping -
Spring Lilacs distressed and inked then added
a silver piece of torn corrugated paper.
The die cut behind the flower is a
laser cut one I bought at a craft show.
This and the dp were inked in Memento Sweet Plum.
The flower is one I bought online already made up
with those pearls and rhinestones.
Have added a touch of iridescent medium
around the edges of the DP.
Added my twine in 2 different colours to match my paper.
Finished it off with pearls and rhinestones on the corners.

Our Guest this month at Just Us Girls
is Tenia Nelson from Jazzy Paper Designs
Hop over to see how she used her twine
and check out the Design Team's creations -
be inspired and head off and enter this weeks challenge
for you to be in the running for our Chic of the Week
and you are in the running to be our Guest in July.

We look forward to seeing you there.

I started with brown card base then matted my image.
Items I used are -
Repeat Impressions Stamp - Great Blue Herron 1704-P
Masked with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
Frayed Burlap/Stormy Skies
I then stencilled using a Texture Waive stencil
    with Dew Drop Moonlight White
and topped it with Iridescent medium

Sketch Time for Challenge #216 over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

We have a fabulous Sketch for you over at
again Thanks to Lynda.

A simple one but with so much going for it.

I had fun with this one when I found some gorgeous
DP from Kaisercraft called Art of Life
which had an image of a rose in the corner -
perfect for adding my hand made flower.

I started with black card stock topped with
cream card stock then added my DP.
My hand made flower was made from
Spellbinders Blossoms 3 and
DieNamics Heirloom Rose
from mulberry paper
I then spritzed it with a little green
for added colour.
My sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping -
A Lovely Birthday
and cut from Spellbinders Decorative Labels 27.
I finished by cutting 2 small dies from
Spellbinders Vintage Lace Motif Die
to attach to the side and a few pearls.

Now that you have seen such a simple sketch
to work with hope you are inspired by what I have made
and also the rest of the Design Team
and enter your card in our Challenge #216.
I wold love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for dropping in.
You kind comments are so appreciated.

Embossing - How I love it.

One of my favourite techniques when I make a card is embossing
and it just happens to be the current challenge at As You Like It
so I squeezed this one in before I head off for a short break
with Family. I am going to spend Mother's Day with my daughter
and also celebrate birthdays with 2 of my grand children.
How special is that?
***
I have made this fairly cas using both techniques.
You need to say what your favourite style is
and this is a difficult one as I love both but for this
challenge I will say 'DRY' because there are so many
beautiful folders around and I think the Swiss Dots
is a favourite of all crafters.
So here are the products I used -

White/Brown/Pink card stock
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
Spellbinders Circles/Lacey Circles
White Embossing Powder
Floral Stamp from Stampin' Up Best of Flowers
Sentiment - Gina k Designs
Own ribbon and Kaisercraft Pearls.

Thanks for dropping in

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

Our Host for this weeks challenge over at
JUST US GIRLS is MARIA
and she has chosen this gorgeous picture
And here is how it inspired me

You see I have this gorgeous stamp
Vase of Tulips 1317L from Repeat Impressions
which I just HAD to use.
I have also been playing around again with
shaving cream and getting all inky - just so happens
the colours on one of my pieces fitted in nicely.
I heat embossed the stamp on top of my
background cut it out with a
Spellbinder Oval die and then added
a scalloped border behind it.
I wanted something a little different from
just the normal card so I just folded over
one half of the front.
Added a piece of coloured card stock
embossed with Tim Holtz embossing folder
then attached my floral bunch of tulips.
To finish it off I cut out the LOVE
from a Kaisercraft die and covered it with
glossy accents and the u is
from a Cuttlebug alphabet set.
On the inside I attached a piece of
matching coloured paper and added some
flourishes and sentiment from
Inspired by Stamping.
***
Hop on over to see how the other Designer's
and our Guest Kathy were inspired.
Hope to see yours Here.
You could be in the running for our
Popular Chic of the Week and
maybe our Guest for June.

Thanks for stopping by.
I so love reading your comments.

Time for a 'SKETCH' at The House

Once again I am playing with one of the lovely stamps from
Repeat Impressions - Beautiful Days for the current Sketch Challenge over at

Here is the Sketch I followed.

20150421-214254.jpg

I started with the basic white card stock then topped it in yellow
which I stamped randomly with a piece of bubble wrap in
Peanut Brittle Distress Ink.
I also did the same behind the daisies in Memento Summer Sky
The DP is from American Crafts
I then framed my Daisies and Butterfly (9203-P)
after colouring it in various coloured pens from
Tim Holtz TomBow and Stampin' Up
Added a touch of Glossy Accents to the
centres of the daisies and part of the butterfly.
Finished off with some small punched daisy flowers
and a tiny piece of orange ribbon bringing out
 the colour on the butterfly.
Sentiment is from Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes.
***
I have had so much fun with the challenges over at
The House that Stamps Built this month.
***
Part of next month I will be away from home celebrating
Mother's Day with my daughter in far North Queensland
where the weather will be simply divine. I will also be
celebrating 2 of my grandchildren's birthdays so some
wonderful family time coming up.
***
I have a few DT projects scheduled so you will still
see a few posts from me.
***
In closing I would like to wish all the
MOTHER'S out there a Very Happy Mother's Day.

Inspirational Photo.

20150414-203727.jpg

I would make my card.
I recently bought some gelatos

To that I added a mounted black frame
for my image which was made with my gelatos
a stencil and inks from
Memento/Stampin' Up and
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
The floral stamp is from
Repeat Impressions - Flowering Vine - 4314K
Added Iridescent Medium for shimmer
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping
Finished with Liquid Pearls on the flower centres.

I did have fun with this challenge and will
certainly be using those gelatos in so many
other different ways.
