Crafty Ribbons Bicycle Challenge

I found a new challenge recently and knew I had the perfect stamp
to enter the Bicycle with Ribbon Challenge at Crafty Ribbons

You don't often associate a bicycle with ribbon but I am really
happy how my card turned out.
I love playing around with backgrounds and getting my fingers
all inky especially when you get a great result.
I love the bright colours I used and it made the
embossed stamp really stand out.
Used several colours of card stock to match
I embossed my Stampin' Up Postage Due stamp with
black embossing powder then got inky with
Tim Holts Peacock Feathers/Bundled Sage and
Seedless Preserves
The small floral image next to my ribbon is also from
Stampin' Up - Fresh Vintage cut with
Spellbinders Square Die
Sentiment is from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps
Added  a crinkled piece of ribbon - love the look
Distressed the edges of my main image and background paper
and finished with a black pearl.

That's it for me for now so till next time

JUGS Inspiration Time

Maria is Hosting this week and it is our
Inspiration Challenge
Don't you just love what she picked for us?

Nothing looks more inviting than a gingham table cloth
with yummy mouth watering watermelon.
But then there is that lovely old red car in the background.
Take your pick on what inspires you and let those
creative juices flow.

That gingham table cloth sold me so that is what I went for.
I got out my Sizzix Hexagon embossing folder for my background
and die cut varies sized Spellbinder hexagon dies.
One that I haven't used in a while.
These were cut out from scrap DP.
Added several Sizzix butterflies after inking around the edges
Sentiment sponged lightly and from Gina K Designs
Finished with a few pearls.

Hope you are inspired and you pop over to our JUGS blog
to see what the Design Team and Guest - Ros Crawford created
and come join in this weeks Challenge.

Thanks for dropping in

Time to Sketch at Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday

It is time again for me to post for our Latest Challenge over at
Try Stampin' or Not on Tuesday
and you can find all the details HERE.

I had been away visiting my sister when the sketch below was
put up for the DT to work on so I had to quickly get into my
craft space and get to work.
Well I think Mo and Jo were napping
as it took me a little while to think about what I wanted to make.
Lucky for me we don't have to include stamping as what I made
would not have been suitable (phew)
***
This gorgeous photo and sketch below is courtesy of KAYLIN.

I found some scrapbooking paper that looked colourful
just like the photo so after I embossed my blue paper
and cut it with my Stampin' Up die
I cut out the HELLO die from Lawn Fawn
and glued the little centre pieces to finish.
My flower is from MFT - Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose
popped on Spellbinder dies and I added
Startdust Stickles.
So there you have it.
***
I hope you will pop over to Our Blog
Checkout the other Designer's cards
and have a go at this great sketch.
Love to see yours there.
If you don't have a blog you can also now
enter your card on our
Facebook Page HERE

Thanks for dropping in

for a touch of shimmer.

Embossed with Candy Blue
and Butterfly - 107 in Black
Added a touch of gold liquid pearls to the centre
of the flower and roughed it up for texture.
Finished with a sentiment from Justrite
and popped my flower.

I'm Hosting this week at Just Us Girls

It is my turn to be HOSTESS for this weeks Challenge over at
and as it is COLOUR WEEK
Below is my choice of colours to inspire you.
Autumn has just left us here in Australia but this is my favourite
time of year because of the beautiful colours you see on the trees
as they prepare for Winter. Unfortunately for me I live too far north
to see their beauty so I thought I would make my own AUTUMN.

Last week end I went to a craft show and
caught up with some crafty friends,
some I had never met before and they flew
from far and wide to meet up.
There were lots of hugs and laughter
and of course show and tell.
I saw a demonstration of how to use gilding flakes
and LOVED what I saw
so of course as all crafters do - buy some.
This is my take on an Autumn Tree.
I kept it cas as I wanted to show IT off.
The beautiful tree is from Repeat Impressions -
 Spring Tree 1610W
I did a trial run and was so happy how it turned out
I decided to use it. It is a shame the paper looks blue
but I could cheat and say it is the sky.
I cut out a Spellbinder die for my popped frame
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping -
Fancy Sentiments
and finished with a few pearls.
***
I had already made my card for this challenge
but had to change after buying those gilding flakes -
 the colours just matched perfectly.
So here is my first card.

There is so much on this card but will try
and tell you some of what I used.
Tim Holtz Stencils/Distress Inks/Pens
Cuttlebug Leaf Dies
Scrap Autumn coloured DP
Memento Inks/Tom Bow Pens
Spritzing
Scripty Hello - Lawn Fawn.
***
I couldn't help myself -
bought more sentiment dies
at the craft show.
So no doubt you will see more in the future.
***
I hope I have inspired you to enter our
Colour Challenge
this week so you could be our next
Chic of the Week and then
be in the running for
Guest Designer in August.

Hope to see your Autumn Creation after you
check out HERE what the Design Team
and our Guest Ros Crawford have made.

Thanks for taking the time to pop in
and check out my rather long post.

It's TREND WEEK at Just Us Girls

Once again it is Trend Week over at
Just Us Girls and hosting this challenge is
Sue and she has chosen for us
a super trend that is really BIG at the moment
Stacked Die Cuts.

When I first saw this I didn't own any die cut sentiments so
of course as all crafters do - went out and bought some.

Here is what I used on my card -
White/coloured card stock
DP - First Edition Desert Blooms
Stampin' Up Punch
Sizzix Banners
Sentiment - Gina K Designs
Kaisercraft Pearls
Crochet cotton
HAPPY die cut - Heidi Swapp
(cut 3 times in different colours)
 ***
Funny enough we did a card at class some time ago
which was perfect for this challenge
so I asked our Instructor Tania from
 Paperandme2 (Facebook Page)
if I could use it and she agreed. Thanks so much.
I know she would love it if you visited her site.
She is so talented.
Products used are Stampin' Up and die cuts.

So there you have it - 2 cards for this weeks challenge.
***
Check out what the other Design Team
and our June Guest Designer Ros Crawford
have created HERE
and hope you will come over and join in
with us for our Stacked Die Cuts Challenge.

My Favourite Flower is ...

For the current challenge over at
We are asked to  make something with your
Favourite Flower and say Why.

So I got to make a card with my favourite flower
A THISTLE - and WHY?
I was born in Scotland and the Thistle has always held a
special place for me. I know it is a weed but when that purple
softness comes out I think they are so lovely.

Here is a card I made for this challenge.
The thistle is a digital image
and I highlighted the main flower by
colouring in and added glossy accents
which hasn't shown up.
I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder for
the background some ribbon
a few pearls rounded the corner
and sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

It's SKETCH TIME at Try Stampin' Or Not on Tuesday

Once again it is time to post my card for the new
Sketch Challenge over at Try Stampin' Or Not On Tuesday
and here is my interpretation
Designed by Crystal
from

I did add 5 stamped images as I wanted to use all of
them as I thought they all went together.
I don't have who this little stamp set is from - shame.

It is a really cas card using red black and white card stock.
I inked the images in Memento Love Letter
The Live it Up is from that same set and
the bigger sentiment is from
I added a row of red gemstones after I embossed the sizzix border
around the sentiment and also on the shoe and handbag
to finish off.

Till next time
Cherrio from
