I 'MALE'd this card to my Son in Law

I am the Hostess this week for the
WORD CHALLENGE at JUST US GIRLS
and I chose MASCULINE.

All too often we get carried away making 'Girly' cards
so this week it is the Male's Turn.
***
I have a girlfriend who is forever looking out for crafty items
for me and most of what is on this card is thanks to her.
***
The background stamp is from Urban Stamps - Cogs
Inked in several colours from Memento
I also got the metal cogs and inked a few of them
on the background.
I was given a bunch of different types of metal cogs
so worked perfectly for my Son in Law
as he was in the middle of restoring an old car -
hence I thought he could do with a few spare parts
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping -
Chalkboard Birthday.
***
Hope I got to you with this challenge and
you get your male card stash updated.
Please checkout what the other Design Teamies
 and our
Guest for March - Jen Mitchell
have made and I look forward to seeing you over at

Nice to have you with us this month Jen.

So glad you stopped by

Sieze the Birthday 'Masculine' card

I was asked by a girlfriend to make her a card
for her brother who happens to be

How lucky I am that this card suits the current challenge over at
Sieze the Birthday for a Masculine Card.

Here is the Recipe -

Basic Card Stock
The Guitar and Sentiments are from
Inspired by Stamping Stamp Sets -
Guitars/Masculine Tags/Chalkboard Birthday
Kaisercraft Grunge Stamp
EZ Cut Music Embossing Folder

I'm Stampin' on Tuesday again

There is another Sketch Challenge over at
so I thought I would put my dies to work
and this is my creation.

I used the basic card stock and embossed my background with
a Darice folder called Henna.
I framed that in front of coloured card stock.
The flowers are from Stampin' Up - Flower Shop.
The colour on one of the flowers look a little red but is
actually burgandy.
I decided after placing them on my card that
they were too nice to cover up so cut out a circle of
acetate from a Spellbinder die so you can see clearly
through it to the flowers.
I popped my sentiment on top of that with a
double punch. My sentiment is from Gina K Designs.
Finished off with a few pearls.

Thanks for dropping in so till next time

Thinking 'SPRING' at the Mod Squad

Again this week I have a Special Friend as Hostess at

Susan Sieracki has asked us to create a card depicting 'Spring'
Maybe she picked this one because of all the 'Winter Blues'
all my overseas friends are experiencing while I have been
basking in 'Sunshine' but I won't gloat as it won't be long
and I will be experiencing those cooler days.

Also over at The Paper Players their challenge is 'Spring'

***
I have a special reason for making this card.
The flowers I used have been sent to me and are from
SU Flower Shop. I loved this set and I received
a bundle of them in my mail box
Thanks so much Maria...
***
Here is what I used -
White card stock as my base
Small piece of DP on the side
SU flowers - Flower Shop
Kasazz Leaves
Tim Holtz Stencils
Sizzix butterfly
Pearls Micro Beads and Dew Drops
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Taking it's 'TOLE' at the MOD SQUAD.

Over at The Mod Squad my good friend Judy Woodland
is hosting this weeks Challenge
and here is what she has asked us to do -

Today I have a little paper tole for you.
All you need to do is take an image,
make at least 3 copies,
and cut out smaller and smaller bits of it
to layer together.

Here is my interpretation

I used my all time favourite Stampin' Up stamp -
Fifth Avenue Floral for this card
I have made many a card for this technique with this stamp
as the big rose is just perfect for cutting and layering.
I used 3 different coloured textured card stock
and heat embossed on two fussy cut
and popped them as a backing.
I then inked the rose stamp three times
and cut our smaller bits for the tole technique
distressed and cut in a few places before
putting it together
I added a touch of iridescent medium for
a little sheen on the flower backed by
a few leaves from Marianne Designs
some Kaisercraft pearls and
sentiment from Gina K Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and till next time

Lisa's Lovely Colour Challenge at Just us Girls

It's Colour Challenge Time over at
and the Lovely Lisa is our Hostess.
Here is the gorgeous photo and colours
she chose for your inspiration.

I have had this gorgeous paper from Victoria Gardens
for a little while now
and knew it would be ideal
to match up with this weeks colours.
I backed this with pink and basic card base.
Folded over the double sided paper to show off the flowers
which were stamped and punched with the SU Petite Petal set
and
EK Success small flower die
Leaves from a Sizzix leaf die
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs
Made a small incision to add my ribbon
and finished with some rhinestones.
***
Don't forget to check out with the other Jugheads created
and this month's Guest Stephanie

I Tried Stampin' on Tuesday

I'm trying a bit of Stampin' on Tuesday
for their Challenge this week which is A Sketch

and thought I would play my hand at the Bokeh Technique
again which is HOT at present.
I followed the Sketch pretty much but decided to cut
my background into three pieces and then
pop my Floral Image on top.
I used Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers & Aged Mahogany
for the background then sponged from the cut out circles with
Dew Drops Brilliance - Moonlight White.
The lovely stamped flower is from
Stampin' Up - Because I Care Set
and I inked it with both inks to give it a variegated look.
Added the required 3 gems in different colours and
finished with a sentiment from Gina K Designs
and crimped ribbon.

Thank You for stopping by and checking out my latest card.

A Little Bit of Red at Fashionable Stamping

One of my favourite Stampin' Up stamp sets is
Feeling Sentimental and I love creating with it.
I found the current challenge over at Fashionable Stamping
was perfect for my card. I have seen several
different ideas of using this stamp on Pinterest
and thought I would do my version of 'Spotlighting'
hence - the touch of RED.
***
I used black & white card stock
then inked my Darkroom Door Postcards stamp
and distressed the edges
to back my very British Phone Box.
This was matted against the black card stock and image
was cut from Sizzix Fancy Tags.
I cut out a small piece of the second inked image
attached it to the main piece and coloured it with
Tim Holtz Festive Berries pen.
Added a bit of scoring around the edges and on the
sides of the sentiment which is from Gina K Designs
which I thought summed up my card perfectly.
I finished off with touch of Wink of Stella clear pen
on the red part of the phone box.

Thanks for dropping in to see my post today.
All your comments are really appreciated.

Another CAS card.

Here I am with the last of my cas card
(well the ones I can blog) but I do have another
in hiding waiting for the right time hehe
***
I again used the Metallic Mother of Pearl card stock
Topped with some mesh I bought an age ago and
hadn't used. Goes beautifully with the cream paper.
I cut out the Leafy Swirl from Fancy That
Added a daisy flower punched twice and popped
Pearl Spray and Kaisercraft Pearl
A tiny cream bow and finished with a sentiment
from Inspired by Stamping - Fancy Labels.
***
I will enter this in the following challenges

Inspirationals #207 So Sentimental
and again at
As You LIke It - Favourite CAS or Fussy

As you can see I went CAS showing of what
a simple leaf spray can do
with just a little flower attached.
 No need for fussy here!

That's it for now
Hope you will come back again soon to see what I have been
up to in my Playstation.

It's Time to Say Thank You at The House that Stamps Built

There are a couple of super challenges
I would like to enter my card in
 and they are over at
The House that Stamps Built - Challenge #DCC211 -
Thank You Cards
and
As You LIke It - Favourite CAS or Fussy
(and say why)

I love that you can make a cas card really POP by choosing
a stamp that has that WOW Factor and I think this one has.
It is from Penny Black and I inked it with
Stampin' Up - Melon Mambo and popped for dimension
My card stock is Metallic Mother of Pearl
Label is from JustRite Vintage Labels
and Sentiment is from Gina K Designs
Finished off with a splash of sequins and rounded corners.

Hope you like it. Till next time

Some Simple Stamping

I have been dabbling in making some cas cards of late and found
a few challenges I thought fitted perfectly.

This card I am entering in the following challenges
As You Like It - Favourite CAS or Fussy and say Why
Addicted to CAS - Challenge #57 Mask It
Red Rubber Designs - Challenge #207 So Sentimental
***
As you can see it is very CAS
I used white and purple card stock
Masking done with Memento Eldenberry & Sweet Plum
Stamp is Perfume by Kaisercraft
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping -
Trendy Circle Sentiments
Dabbed a little colour on the white cs.
***
For the As You Like it Challenge I chose CAS
and my reason for this is if you have a single stamp
that packs a punch that is all you need to give it that
'Look at Me' card.
***
I have a few more CAS cards made so you will
see me popping back in again real soon.
Till then Thanks for stopping by.

Going 'WILD' at Just us Girls

It's our WILD CARD WEEK at Just us Girls

NANCY as our HOST this week has a fabulous challenge for you
to make your SENTIMENT the focal point of your project.

When I saw this challenge I KNEW what stamp I wanted to use.
It is the Beautiful Vintage Happy Birthday
from Inspired by Stamping.
Also from IBS the DP's - Vintage Floral
Fancy Labels 1, flowers and lace.
and also
Paper doily inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Rose
Inked edges - Antique Linen
Gold Leaf  Embossing Powder
Kaszazz Ivory Seam Binding
Flourish with a Bling Antique Gold Pearls
The card stock I used is Metallic Sculptured Paper.

Just couldn't help myself. I recently bought this stamp and knew
it would be perfect for this challenge too so made 2 cards.

I went for a simple look - can't say clean as the technique
I used was Shaving Cream and Reinkers.
Now you all know how messy and fun it is.
This time I used basic card stock
and my background inks I used were
Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry & Yo Yo Yellow
I inked the Do Crafts Typography stamp in Rich Razzleberry
and filled in the S in yellow.
Also spritzed it to take away the stark white look.
The ribbon is from SU Purely Pomegranate.
Sprinkled a few sequins to add the final touch.
 ***
Hope you like what I made for our 'WILD CHALLENGE'
and you get the chance to join in this weeks challenge
because you then have the chance to become our
CHIC of the WEEK and be in the running to
share with us as our GUEST DESIGNER our
creations for MARCH.
