It's my turn to host this week at Just Us Girls

and it is our WORD WEEK!

I chose BOLD!

As you can see I went with BOLD COLOURS!

An easy card using an

 alcohol inked sheet cut into triangles from MFT

attached to card stock for stability onto dark card base.

Sentiment is from Paper Smooches

and finished with some bright sequins.

Our Guest Julia and my Talented Team Mates

have created bright beautiful bold colourful creations

that will have you heading off to make yours

and add to our Gallery so -

Mixed Media for Creative Artiste

It's  Creative Artiste Mixed Media Time

and here is my project for September.

It has been a hectic month with family and 

not too much craft time - and is ongoing

as this goes live I will be at the 

tip of Australia with family celebrating

my grandson's wedding.

Hence something simple and a few photos

to show you a little bit of how my tag came together.

Time was running out so didn't take photos of

 the other embellishments as I added them - sorry!

 

Started off with cardboard and

added some lovely dp from my stash.

That came about because I had the flower

in a drawer from years back.

Adding some stencil work from AB Studio

with Liquitex paste and Lindy's 

Have a Scone Heather shaker.

then lace on the side

adding a row of pearls,

die cut a tiny frame, popping the centre

after die cutting some flowers with pearl centres.

Found some scrap bits and used them for

the leaves in the background.

Inked the seam binding and ribbon adding it behind

the flower that has now found a home.

Tied ribbon to top of tag and that completes

this month's Mixed Media Make.

so decided to use them and layer it.

Added a simple thank you die

and my card was complete.

So easy peasy.

Born to be WILD!

 Denise is Host this week at Just Us Girls for our

Anything Goes Stencil Challenge

I went WILD!

and it was a whole lot of fun!

I found an old stencil that I thought

suited my wild lion using

Tim's distress oxide inks instead of distress

as I wanted a softer tone and sprayed

lightly with water so the colours would merge.

Inked the lion with Versafine Clair Nocturne

and heat embossed clear.

Sentiment is from the same set.

Added some of Tim's stencil splatters,

framed in black onto an

AALL&Create frame and attached to

brown card base (which looks black in photo)

Just Us Girls Mood Board Week

 It's our Mood Board Week and the 

Lovely Lisa is Hosting and chose a

Beautiful One that I know will

fill our Gallery in all it's glory.

I went a bit rogue here and chose to

go with a totally different coloured flower

(but I did add a butterfly)

I got out my favourite SU Rich Razz

for my layered sunflower, circle die and sentiment.

 Added a touch of magical's for shimmer.

Die cut a couple of flourishes with kraft c/s

Some dp for the background and

adhered to kraft card base.

Sea Shells by the Sea Shore!

Bobby is Hosting this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls 

and chose WATER for our  WORD WEEK. 

I knew just what I wanted to do for this challenge

and had so much fun putting my little 

Mixed Media Canvas together.

 

There is a little story behind this canvas.

I recently said to my daughter I needed some sand

for a project. She said she would get a bag for me 

on a trip to spend time with granddaughter in Weipa

(top of Australia) hence she arrived home with

the little bag of sand and some tiny shells

which Harper (my GGD) picked from their trip to the beach.

I had mixed enough sand and texture paste

mixed with Lindy's Magical's and Acrylic Paint

 to create a few more sometime soon.

I even added two small bottles of beach bits

but too big for this canvas.

My beach scene has the blue water

with tiny breaking waves and splashing

against the sand.

Lots of shells, mica flakes, pearls, art stones,

distress glitter and bauxite I have had

in a little bottle for years

(funny enough came from Weipa

where it is mined)

 It's again time for our Monthly Anything Goes

MIXED MEDIUM CHALLENGE at

Creative Artiste MM Challenge

Once again I seem to have used 

much the same colours as last month.

Maybe because the tag die is a bit grungy also and

 saw This Tag on Pinterest and since I had recently

purchased that set I cased her fabulous MM tag.

oh! and a few more sizzix butterflies wanting to be useful.

I started with - 

adding on 

die cut squares and lots of inking

and crackle paste that didn't adhere well.

Added some smooched blue to the squares

to blend with the butterflies

coloured with Lindy's Magical's and Brusho's.

I don't know why the screamin' banshee black

has gone a very deep blue so added a touch of black brusho's.

Added some cheesecloth, 

side bits, black and white splatters.

Decided it needed something in the middle

and a few embellishments beside the added butterflies

with added black pearls.

I have had a couple of the postage dies for

quite some time but barely used them so it was time

to use one. I went hunting to find something suitable 

that would fit and picked several from a

very old but much loved paper pack from

Inspired by Stamping (no longer in business)

They are very soft muted colours, inking the edges.

Die cut extras popping a few for interest, framed

and adhered to white card base.

A simple Hello to complete.

Our New Guest Betty has wowed us with her

first beautiful card and the Team

as always have an array of

fabulous creative and fun die cut cards

for you to be inspired by.

My background is from my bits box and

would have been coloured with Lindy's Magical's

and there is swirled circles from clear texture paste.

I die cut Tim's Mixed Media #2

and attached to my background.

Added a simple die cut sentiment,

 some matching droplets and attached to white card base.

Stencil Week at Just Us Girls...

Hello and Welcome to Stencil Week at 

Just Us Girls 

Our Host is Sue going with Anything Goes.

There isn't too much evidence of stencil work here

but sometimes it is nice just to have a simple background

instead of  it being the feature as I have done here.

Once again I used a favourite AALL&Create stencil

for the background of my tag with a couple of Tim's distress inks

with a touch of gold shimmer and a few splatters 

on the cover plate.

Die cut another few old favourites as feature

adding a rounded ball of variegated cotton

also to the tag.

Finished with a simple sentiment.

Inked the edges and tag.

As this is Bonnie's last week with us as Guest

A huge thank you once more for sharing

your amazing talent with us. It has been

such a pleasure.

for us to pick from.

 

As you can see I am showcasing

the poppies on the top left.

I coloured my tulips with 

Tim's Distress Barn Door and 

leaves and stems with peeled paint and rusty wilderness

with a touch of shimmer from Magcal's but hasn't shown up

onto w/c paper and die cut.

Die cut my Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles frame

and added some grunge stamping and splatters.

Adhered my poppies to frame and added a

STAMPlorations sentiment.

Popped on to cream frame and base.

Our Guest Bonnie and the Team have chosen

what caught their eye on our Mood Board

and created a variety of lovely work

now it is your turn to show us yours.

It's Just Us Girls Word Week and Hosting is Vicki

How will you use that word?

I went the easy way out and chose music

as it was a big part of my hubby's hobby.

A simple card with some grungy inking for the background.

Die cut a few guitars deciding on three different colours.

fussy cutting the white centres and adding gold liquid dots

and some inked music notes.

Added some splatters also to the appropriate sentiment

from a favourite Paper Smooches stamp set.

Framed in black onto red card base.

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Make!

It's that time of the month for me to

show what I created for our New Anything Goes Challenge

 over at Creative Artiste Mixed Media

I am a little disappointed how this finished

as it wasn't what I had planned but

I wanted to use a new die and it went from there.

Once I start in a Mixed Media zone I sometimes

get carried away. It did start off that way

but somethng towards the end didn't pan out.

The process is always fun and this is how it started.

My new die

Inked up the insert with Distress ink

and Lindy's Magical's then

used a favourite AALL&Create stencil

and added some grungy stamping from Arden Creative Studio

then a whole lot of bits and bobs

The butterfly had been sitting on my desk for ages

so no need to die cut another one like I had planned.

then it all came together.

I had a bit of trouble glueing the frame

to the black base

as it was only on heavy card stock

then the insert was tricky also.

My talented Team Mates have once again

been inspirational with their Mixed Media Makes
