Inspired by Stamping WHW #018 - creating frames

On my last post I showed you a card I made for
the Inspired by Stamping Ribbon Challenge.
I am so happy that my name was picked out as the WINNER.
I can now choose 2 packs of crochet trim and there is
some beautiful ones there for me to choose. Whoo Hoo

Their new challenge is to create a card using a frame.
Below you can click on the link to see how Joanne showed us how with her Tutorial.

How often do we use our dies but don't think of using
2 together to create a lovely frame.
That got me interested so I got to playing with
some new Spellbinder dies to do just that.
This is what I came up with.

I used the following products for my card

Basic white card stock
DP - Old World Mat Stack
Spellbinders Opulent Ovals
Spellbinders Vintage Lace Motifs
Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder
Distress Ink - Iced Spruce
GinaK stamp - Assorted Greetings
MS Punches - Hydrangea and Leaves
Fancy That Leafy Swirl
Flower - CR1204 by Marianne Designs
Kaisercraft Pearls
Liquid Pearls

I really enjoyed making this card for the challenge and hoping next time
I will have some lovely IBS stamps on my next project for you to drool over.

Till then

 HAPPY CRAFTING
and thanks for stopping by.

It's Music Music Music

Our colour challenge over at Outlawz this week  is Red Green & White and was chosen by Guylou and her twist - which we have every week is  ADD MUSIC.
Don't you just love these guys - could be 4 Tenors.

And where would we be without our generous sponsors. This month we have

and here is what I made as part of the Design Team
for inspiration for our many members.

It was a fairly simple card to make just adding red & green paper
after I embossed with swiss dots and some music notes.
Added my popped & glittered shamrock  from a Spellbinder cut out
and attached a small piece of Irish ribbon to match.

I am entering this card in the

who generously supplied the DT with our choice of images.

I chose French Love Letter - perfect for the theme of my card PARIS.

and

Here is my card

I started with black cs and topped it with scripted dp.
Added layers with blue floral print and a pale rose pink paper.
Both these have been pierced around the edges.
Behind the main focal image are some Spellbinder flourishes.
For the main image I stamped the Eiffel Tower over the
French Love Letter Script
and then various other stamps randomly on the page.
All stamps are from Kaisercraft
Inked the edges with black to highlight.
Sponged with Peacock Feathers & Victorian Velvet Distress Inks and gold shimmer.
I also sponged my double bow with ribbon from Kazazz with Victorian Velvet
and placed a few pearls to add the final touch.

Inspiration from Just Us Girls Challenge #194

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/just-us-girls-194-inspiration-photo.html

I found this fabulous inspiration challenge and just had to enter.
I love the bright colours of yellow black and white as they always seem so fresh.

I thought for this challenge CAS would be perfect
to showcase the colours so here is what I made

HOW

Started with the basic white card stock and topped with
a layer of swiss dots embossed paper.
Loved the bright yellow and though it a perfect highlight
by using the good oldSpellbinders Fleur de Lis
I then showcased the white with the Marianne Quinn Flourish Die
and added a folded black & white flower topped with a yellow button.
Finished with a strip of black velvet ribbon and a sentiment for Stampin' Up.

A nice cheerful cas card suitable for any occasion.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

A Day to Scrap - GOING HOME Layout.

I finally got back into doing some scrapbooking thanks to the

Scrapbook Challenge 20 - 06/20/13

over at http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/ this week.

Our challenge is an Anything Goes but we must use stamps on our page.

I must admit I had started on this layout and has been on the
to finish list for a little while.
My card making seemed to have overtaken lately.
But not yesterday. It was a dreary cold wintery rainy day
 - perfect to get my head in and finish my layout.

This will be the last double page of my
Homecoming Scotland Trip
I took with my sister/husband my niece and cousin.

I stamped the top page with a Kaisercraft travel stamps and
the bottom with a grunge stamp from Tim Holtz.
Added lots of memorabillia from the airline we flew with.
Photos were taken at Heathrow and Dubai Airports.

Hope you like it and Thank You for visiting.

It's a new Colour Challenge over at The Outlawz

It is Colour Challenge time again over at The Outlawz.
As you may know I was recently asked to be on the
Design Team for the Colour Challenge Group.
Each week one of the Design Team gets to choose the colour palette and twist.
This week was my turn and below is what I came up with.
I loved the soft colours of these roses  - a perfect colour combination.
Of course there is always a twist and I love layering  - so there too is my Twist.

Again our generous sponsor is

Here is what I made

I used a creamy pearl paper throughout embossing the background and sponging in pink and apricot ink for the first layer. The second layer I used a MS punch attaching my own apricot ribbon to it - second layer then added one of my favourite Spellbinder dies - the poinsettia cut out with mottled dp.
The leaves are also from the cream card stock - more layers.
Added a bit of glitter with a gel pen to the centres of the flower and leaves
and finished off with a pearl brad and a tag with sentiment from GinaK

Hope you get a chance to pop over to The Outlawz and check out all the
different challenges there - one for every day of the week
and also see what the other talented Ladies from the
Colour Challenge have made for inspiration.

Thanks for popping in to see my work. I  appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Outlawz Challenge Cards

It is that time of the week and I have made a couple of cards for the current challenges over at The Outlawz

This weeks CAS challenge is 'Pillow Fight' - all about Feathers
so my card is really CAS

As you can see it is really just that.
I have used black and orange card stock for the base.
I cut out a circle to use as a mask and coloured the white card stock with
Memento Peanut Brittle
The swan image is from GinaK as is the sentiment.
The swirl is one from my stash.
I finished off my card with a gold gel pen
around the swan to give it a bit of shineand there you have it.

I am a Guest Designer this month for the Greeting Challenge and
here is what I have made for that one.

We had to create a Wedding or Anniversary project in gold or silver.

What I used -
Cream card stock MS punch Spellbinders Labels 20
Kaisercraft pearls and own ribbon
Sentiment is from GinaK

I am also on the Design Team for their Colour Challenge
and this week our colours and twist were chosen by Roxann

and Ursula posted this challenge which is sponsored by

I made a CAS card for this one as I had been away on holiday for a few weeks.

I used the Honeycomb Embossing Folder from SU with Spellbinders Labels 20
some ribbon from Kazazz and added a little bit of bling.

Thanks for coming over to check out my latest cards.
