Early Celebrations at STAMPlorations

STAMPlorations are celebrating their 4th Birthday

with Major Give Aways. I am getting in a little early here...

While I was at a recent Craft Show I got Happy Mail.

I thought it only right that I tried them out!

I bought some Nuvo Mousse and used that 

on my ARTplorations Bloom Factory

then inked up a few stamps from 

STAMPlorations Bloom Factory 

inking them where there was no colour from the stencil.

I fussy cut the big flower from 

STAMPlorations Big Bloom Factory

which was heat embossed and I again used the

mousse on the inside.

You can see the shimmer above from the Nuvo Mousse.

The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Party Time

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

Once again it is that time of the month for our

PHOTO WEEK.

Lisa is Hosting and has chosen this Summer Vacation Theme.

What springs to mind when you see this?

I chose the chairs.

Once again I struggles with this one - maybe I need that Vacation!
I have one lonely chair stamp suitable in my collection
so went with that. I chose just 2 colours to work with
the orange and yellow.
My background is the shaving cream technique.
Inks used were Tim Holtz Carved Pumpkin
and SU Yo Yo Yellow.
Added a squirt of lemon liquid pearls for sheen.
My chair from Repeat Impressions was inked
and cut with Spellbinders Hexagon and sponged.
I cut out another in orange for backing.
The smaller one was used for my sentiment
which is from Inspired by Stamping.

Its 'SEW' time!

Hello Crafty Ones!

Time for a New Challenge over at

Cardz 4 Galz and Caz has chosen 

SEW AND SEW.

I had sooooooooo much fun with this one.
I got out my SU Sew Suite stamp set and went to work
on adding my sewing bits & bobs.
My card base and plain mat are from SU.
The other mats are from scrap DP.
I inked up both the green and the DP
with stamps from the set - cotton reel and pin cushion
which added interest to my card.
Used a stitched die for cutting.
Added some buttons trim and tape measure.
The model image is from Inspired by Stamping.
Inks used are - Tim Holtz Tea Dye
Memento New Sprout/Pistachio.
Dimension squares where needed.

'Hello' It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

Colour Week at Just Us Girls has come around again and Bobby

as Hostess chose Yellow Aqua & Brown

I usually don't have a problem with colour challenges

but this time Mo & Jo were in hiding.

After much searching they finally found their way back.

Thanks goodness as I wanted to get a bit ahead of challenges

because as you know I have a friend staying after

we went to our Annual Craft Show and didn't want to

be posting challenges while we could be

  'playing' creating.

It's 'Reminder Time' at Mix It Up Challenge

It's that time of the month once more for a 'Reminder'

that you still have time to play in the current challenge at

Mix It Up Challenge

It's Anything Goes + Stamping

and the Stamping is Optional.

I used a favourite colour combination here

with Stampin' Up - Baja Breeze & Calypsol Coral.

My layers of lace are also from SU - Delicate Details

which were heat embossed in white.

After embossing them I sponged the background 

in the above colours.

Added a small doily to the background.

I cut 2 small pieces of ribbon to add to the back

of my sentiment which was cut from a

Spellbinder Die and matted with a 

Stitched Die from MFT and popped.

The sentiment is from SU Happy Birthday Wishes.

What's 'Trending' at Just Us Girls?

How 'awesome' that Chris chose those 

fabulous powder dies as our Trend at Just Us Girls.

I have only recently bought these addicted little items

and am having so much fun each time I get them out.

My powders are Brusho's

I started by heat embossing my butterfly image with
white embossing powder onto water colour paper then
 added brusho's. After that dried I cut it out with a
stitched postage stamp die popping it
in front of white card stock and then to my card base.

Just to make you all envious you may already know
I will be swanning around at a Craft Show
with good friends including Cheryl Wright
(I know a lot of you know her)
when this goes live!
She is coming up again from Melbourne.
We will have a crafty time ahead as Cheryl is coming home with me
and staying for a whole week. Yay!

There's 'New Designers' over at Cardsz 4 Galz

With this heading it gives me great pleasure to announce that

I have been chosen as part of the new Designers at

Cardz 4 Galz

The scary part of my first posting was making a card for 

Challenge #49 - and is 'Graduation'

We have our graduation here in Australia

much later in the year. 

As I don't really have anything suitable in my craft supplies
I had to rely on good ol' Google for my image.

As you can see I landed up making 2.

This one is for the more serious Graduate (lol)

I cut out this cute Owl which I found on Google

using MFT Peek a boo die and decided to

add him on top of some SU Designer Paper.

Before adhering him I added some stenciling 

from TH Speckles in Dried marigold.

Added several branches from Memory Box

Sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

I added some Glossy Accents to his eyes

and WOS to the circles around his eyes 

and his beak.

And this one says Time to let your hair down!
I did have a bit of fun with my background
adding a bit of smooching stenciling and
a touch of Brusho's.
Again the image is from Google
cut from MFT die and backed with a second cut.
Sentiments are from Paper Smooches again.
Finished off with a few sequins.

I'm Hosting 'Word Week' at Just Us Girls

Hi there Crafty Friends!

It is my turn to Host our Word Challenge

 at Just Us Girls and I chose an Easy Peasy One.

I needed to make a male card for my grandson recently
so I got out some cog/gear dies and my die cut card was on it's way.

A pretty simple card using
DP and coloured paper from SU
Cogs/Gears are from Kaisercraft & Craft Emotions
and popped with different sized squares.
Cuttlebug Birthday embossing folder inked.
That's it! Told you it was simple.

It's time for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls

choosing this 'Beauty'

I decided to go with the hearts using

a cream metallic card stock with a shimmery pattern

and gold paper.

The Heart die is from Cheery Lynn called

'Celtic Heart' a birthday gift from my

Scottish Sister Cheri Weston.

I glued the outline and slightly popped the

middle and added the CUTplorations XOXO Word Die

The lace trim is from SU Delicate Details.

and heat embossed in gold.

Finished with some pearls.

George Strait - I Cross My Heart from the movie
Pure Country. I LOVE his music and that movie
is one of my all time favourites.

A Simple 'Happy Birthday'

There are a few challenges I would like to enter the above

CAS Birthday card into...

but first let me tell you how I made it...

I used white card stock as my base and for the embossing.

which is a Kaisercraft leaves folder. - cut with
CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitched Die

I framed that with gold paper.
The butterfly is cut from gold vellum and
white card stock. I spritzed the white with
SU Champaigne Mist from
CUTplorations Flutter Zen 2 Layered Die
Sentiment is from SU and cut with MFT Stitched Die.
The butterfly sentiment and embossed background
are all popped.
Added a pearl to the centre of the butterfly to finish.

Another CAS card for AAA Cards

I seem to be in a CAS mood lately and loving it!

Here is another one this time for the current challenge at

AAA Cards for their Game #90 Embossing

I got out my recently purchased Brusho's for this one
and just let the powders do their work.
You always get a fabulous colourful result.
This was done on water colour paper
cut with a stitched die
and attached to black card stock.
My image is from an old
SU Set -  Inspired by Nature heat embossed with
 Ranger Black Embossing Powder.
Added a bit more colour with Inka gold
Sentiment is from 49 and Market
cut with a JustRite die.

Just 'Hello'

Hello Crafty Ones - 

Don't we all love making gal cards? You betcha..

Here is one I made for the current challenge over at

you guessed it! Cardz 4 Galz and it is a

favourite one of mine - add some texture.

It's also perfect for the current CAS Challenge

over at STAMPlorations - Feminine Colours.

Details Here

I started by stenciling ARTplorations Shutters

with white acrylic paint and adding

a small amount of colour paste.

While that was drying I 

inked up my feather from  

STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers 2

with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers.

Sentiment is also as above.

Added a small piece of mesh for interest

then popped my fussy cut feather

and sentiment.. Finished with a few pearls.

I will add it to their Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends

Over at Colours & Sketches 

I found this gorgeous colour combination

and knew I just had to play. 

I have been away celebrating

Mother's Day & Birthdays with family and 

eager to get inky again.

I think Rich Razzleberry would have to be my favourite

SU colour so knew it would be fun 

to include my RR ribbon.

Here are the products I used -

Card Base is SU Sahara Sand

My floral image and Lace are inked with RR from

SU Avant Garden & Delicate Details.

The splotches are inked with

Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet &

Memento London Fog.

Sentiment is also from Avant Garden

inked in Victorian Velvet.

This was cut from a stitched die.

Finished with a few gems and a touch of WOS

on the flowers.

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

This card was made with a heavy heart as a very dear
and old friend passed away recently.
She was a second Mother to my hubby as she spent
every week end watching her son and my hubby play soccer.
She was also a big part in our lives when we all lived in Darwin.
There are so many beautiful memories of our time together.
She was also the one that warned us
of the force that Cyclone Tracy was about to leash on us.

I started with Metallic Linen card stock.
With the same paper I then inked up my background images
which are from SU Bloom With Hope. These were coloured
with metallic paints. The focal flower was heat embossed
in navy, fussy cut and popped.
Behind that I added a few sprigs from a MS punch.
For the TH Splatters I used Mowed Lawn Stormy Sky
and Peacock Feathers. I'm afraid the Lime Green
is a little hard to see.
I cut out a tiny circle and added a punched heart
to which I added WOS. I thought this perfect
to put under the sentiment which is also from
that same stamp set.
Finished off with some pearls (of course) and
some cotton and bow.

It's a FIRST!

May finally arrived and our new Challenge Blog

Mix It Up Challenge is in full swing with Team A

showcasing their Craft Styles.
It is Team B's turn to showcase ours and
as a REMINDER! to get your entries in

It's an Anything Goes Challenge with the
Optional Twist to Emboss.

Here is how I made my card -
This was my first attempt at using Brusho's
and I had only bought a few so of course I wanted to
'use them all' only 3...
My base is basic black card stock.
The fun began when I added
black turquoise and violet to my water colour paper
and let some magic happen.
Once that was dry I kept on adding bits & bobs here and there.
My rose stamp is from Penny Black - Temptation
which was heat embossed with Ranger black powder.
I think I should have done that first as it
didn't stamp as clear as I would have liked
but I did have other 'stuff' added (gold gelatos) which didn't help.
Next time I will know better!
For a bit more texture I have added
splotches of Inka Gold.
There is a tiny bit of script to the left side which is
from 49 AND Market
Some grunge from STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.
Added a stitched sheet of card stock as a frame
and finished with a rounded corner.
