It's a 'Crackle-ing' Hello

Hello Crafty Ones.
Can you believe it's November! Christmas is just down the road
but I'm not going to show you a Christmas card. Phew! she says.
Instead I want to show you a cas card I made
for the latest challenge over at the
Mix It Up Challenge Blog for this month's
Anything Goes Challenge with the
Optional Twist of 'Stenciling'

I just love stencils as there are so many ways to use them
with our craft products. For this one I used
ARTplorations Retro Circles
on watercolour paper pasting it with
DecoArt White Crackle Paste.
Doesn't it look 'awesome'
Once dry I sprinkled Brusho's in Lemon/Turquoise & Sea Green.
This was cut with a stitched die and
mounted onto green card base.
My sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping - A Big Hello
inked with TH Oxide Peacock Feathers cut
from a MFT stitched die.
Finished with scattered pearls.

I Think You're....

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and our
Judge Judy is Hosting!

Look at WHAT SHE FOUND!

Now how much fun can you have with this!
I certainly did with my background.
I think I have used just about everything imaginable here
to try and replicate what's above.
Lots of Brusho's shimmer a bit of stenciling
credit card swiping -  which made my craft room
very messy but I loved it.
I decided to add lots of sentiments
from MFT Simply Fab Sayings
a swirly thingy to highlight the so
and the fabulous is  CUTplorations Fabulous Word Die.
Matted that with purple paper onto black card stock.

Pop over to Our Blog

Hope to see you there.

It's my 'Favourite Flower'

Hello Crafty Ones
It's my turn to HOST this fortnight's challenge over at
Cardz 4 Galz and I have chosen
'Your Favourite Flower & Why'
Now those that know me will know what it is before
I've even added my photo.
Off course it is a 'Thistle' and being a Scot
I just love them.
I have several 'thistle' stamps and was going to use one of them
but after looking through one of my die drawers I saw
this British Thistle Die I had forgotten about.
Once more my Brusho's came out.
I used Purple/Sea Green & Leaf Green
but only the greens on the background.
My thistle was cut out after I had spritzed
the 3 brusho colours, carefully picking
out the best spot colour wise.
The background was cut with a stitched die
after I added some inked stamping from Kaisercraft
a few splatters from Tim Holtz and a cut out frame.
Added some WOS to the thistle a purple bow
 and a few butterflies above.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Bloom Happy.

That's it for me today.
Love to see what your favourite flower is
AND why! so pop over and see
the Team's favourites and come join us.

It's Snowing...somewhere

No Crafty Ones - it isn't snowing real snow where I live
but it is on my card for the latest challenge over at
The Mod Squad and what a timely one for me.
 Check out the Details Here
I was working on another card (which you will see at a later date0
when I had a leftover piece of water colour card stock. I had some
Blue Brusho's and White Pearl Acrylic Paint on my craft mat
so not to waste it I just smooched it and thought
it would come in handy especially as
Christmas is just down the road.
Little did I know I would snap it up quickly to make my card above.
As it was only a small piece I cut out
part of my birch tree die to adhere to the front.
I recently purchased some Delta Fantasy Snow
from Happy Little Stampers. It takes ages to dry
but has little balls of snow with bits of shimmer
and looks so realistic. I added it to the bottom
on the trees and even my wee bird which is from
a very old Gina K stamp set called Snow One Like You.
I cut him out separately as he was attached to a bird cage.
He has a tiny bit of Nuvo shimmer.
inked with Memento Summer Sky.
(wish I had inked it further up)
Finished with some glitter stars.

I found a few other Challenge Sites I though
I would drop my card over to.

Your Smile.......

Don't we all love it when a card comes together nicely!
This card did just that and it is for the
I think the sentiment I chose from
makes for a perfect Pick Me Up.
Moving away from my addiction to Brusho's
I got our my other addiction -
Tim's Oxide Inks and don't we all love them.
For my background I chose
Peacock Feathers/Picked Raspberry
and Fossilized Amber
blending separately and drying
each colour as I go.
The hardest part was finding some DP
to match one of the colours which I eventually did
and cut my panel from Tim's Mixed Media.
Adding my butterfly from
and a gem to the centre.
My sentiment was cut from a Spellbinders circle die
inking the edge and popped to finish.

Be sure to pop over and see what the other
Designers created and come join us.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in today.

'Love' Always

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and hosting is Vicki
choosing these colours
They 'scream' Halloween to me but I chose a different path
as I am not a Halloween sort of person.
I think this flower from SU Bloom with Hope
makes for a lovely card. I remembered I had some
Twinkling H2 O's in my stash so I decided to
heat emboss the flower and go from there.
I fussy cut that out and then went on to
create the background.
This was achieved using SU Timeless Textures
with TH Black Soot & Mowed Lawn.
The green leaves are from Marianne Designs
and a MS punch.
I finished my flower with some Diamond Dust
in the centre.
and cut my sentiment from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms
with a MFT Stitched die.
Pop over to Our Blog to see what our
October Guest Karola
and the Team created using these fabulous colours.
You are never disappointed!
Hope to see you there.

A Stenciling I Did Go

I have had the stenciling on this card done for days now
and has just been sitting on my bench
so today I thought I had better finish it off
and add it to the CAS Mix Up October Challenge
which is to use more than one stencil on your cas card.
I used stamping, Distress inks, stenciling and
 water colour splotching with Brusho's.
I have a hoard of stencils so just started playing around
with several of them - not really taking much notice of
which stencils/colours I used as I wasn't sure at the time whether
it would turn out or just be an overcrowded mess!
Most are ARTplorations and one gifted
to me by a friend (she had a spare)
The main image is ARTplorations Bloom Silhouettes.
My sentiment is from Gina K.
Attached to brown card stock to finish.
Now that is done I am of to play some more.
Thanks for dropping in. I will be back later
with a scheduled post.

I Scream You Scream...

It's the middle of the month and that means
A Reminder for the October CUTplorations Challenge

I decided to go with Happy and chose
and CUTplorations Matching Die for my focal point.
You know the old saying -
I scream - you scream - we all scream for ice cream
A perfect Birthday Card.
There are lots of yummies here -
I decided to add a bit of interest with so many
party stamps and cut my card stock on an angle.
My ice cream cone was heat embossed with
Zing Brown Sugar then of course I had to add
toppings - Nuvo Drops in
Violet Galaxy/Wisteria Purple/Pumpkin & Blue Lagoon
and you have to have sprinkles!
I let that dry and continued on adding
some stenciling from ARTplorations Square Dance
with CTMH Thistle, Memento Lulu Lavender
TH Carved Pumpkin
So you see - so many fabulous party stamps/stencils/dies.

What's 'Trending' at Just Us Girls???

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls.
It is Trend Week and Angie as Host has chosen
So many choices here.
I had intended to do a peek-a-boo card but...
I got this new die that I thought I would try out.
I had an idea in my head that I thought I would
try once again. It was all the tissue paper cards
floating around in Blogland and it hit me!
Why not get out one of those
drawer full of paper patterned napkins
and go with that.

I glued my lavender napkin to card stock and
scrunched it a little. I did this quickly so I
wouldn't tear it. I then added my window.
The background was again pasted with
a plain scrunched up napkin finished
with a Happy Birthday cut die from Marianne Designs.
I really like the scrunched background finishing
my card off nicely.

Now pop over to Our Blog
to see what our October Guest Karola
and the Team created.
Hope you will join in this weeks Challenge.
In doing so you could be chosen as our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
 a Guest Designer Spot.

Thanks for dropping in.

It's Mono Time at Cardz 4 Galz

Hello there! Glad you popped in to see what I have been up to.
This fortnight over at Cardz 4 Galz choosing the
 Theme of Monochromatic is Chris.
I simply love this watercolour poppy stamp from Rubbernecker.
 using both stamps.
I inked the main image and the outline on watercolour paper
with the Altenew Red Cosmos set.
I like the effect you get when you off centre the 2 stamps.
Added a few splatters from a TH stencil
and cut with a stitched die.
This was matted unevenly and attached to
white card stock.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2
Added some Nuvo Drops to the centres of the flowers.

Pop over to Cardz 4 Galz

Leaves are 'Fall-ing'

I mentioned in an earlier posting that I had made 2 leaves using
the Autumn Gilding Flakes.
This is the result of using the second one.
It turned out NOT quite so CAS as I had planned.
Never the less I decided to send it over to the

Challenge - Here

I added some Distress inks to my craft mat
smooching my paper around till it covered my card stock.
Added some gold colour burst with a paint brush
then inked a leaf from Gina K Designs.in the centre.
The corners were inked with the same set in colours to match.
This was popped after cutting the frame out from
MFT Peek a Boo Die.
Sentiment is also from GKD.

#Updating to add this to the Fall Fest Challenge at the
Mod Squad

Thanks for dropping in so till next time

Simply 'Merry Christmas'

I have more Exciting News!
Kylie from Happy Little Stampers has asked me to join
her Addicted to Stamps & More Team  and
I couldn't say no - She's an Aussie!
So here I am on Team B and it's our turn to post.
I'm making sure I don't get caught out short with my
Holiday Cards. How about you?
So far I think I am doing nicely. It also helps when a
Challenge has Holiday as the Theme which
Addicted to Stamps and More has for their latest Challenge.

I have kept my card cas - great for posting.
I thought this time I would go with Traditional Colours
having fun with my addiction - Brusho's
from Happy Little Stampers in
Rose Red/Brilliant Red/Leaf Green/Yellow
Added Inka Gold with a paint brush randomly
and a few splatters. Sentiment is from
Cut in white and gold -  haven't quite got the hang
of getting a good shadow effect though.
Framed with gold paper onto white card stock.
