It's ' Blooming '

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's our Colour Week hosted by Maria
and a popular one for sure!

I chose to move in a different direction away from the popular
Valentine's Day choice for February
with these colours and make a Birthday Card.
It's a pretty simple card focusing on that beautiful
flower die from SU Botanical Blooms.
I love that set as there is so much you can do with it.
It was die cut from a shimmery red paper and my
tiny pink flowers hiding behind it are also shimmery.
The leaves are grey as is the frame
behind my embossed Kaisercraft Leaves.
Added some pink washi tape, red pearls
and my sentiment and die from STAMPlorations Fluttery

Pop over and see what our Special Guest Lisa Elton
and the Team created and come join us in our Gallery.

Till next time - Cherrio from

Pretty Pink Project for Art and Soul

We have a gorgeous feminine Mood Board for February
over at Soul Sisters Facebook site.
There are 3 $50 Vouchers to be won for our
Australian viewers and the chance to be a
Guest Designer for our overseas entries.

I chose to pick a flower from our Mood Photo
and bling up my project.

I started my project by adding Gesso to my base.
Then inking some tissue paper with a script stamp
and scrunching it up as a layer for my flower.

Continued on my background with my
Stamperia stencil with texture paste
and adding some grunge stamping.
Smooched with Nuvo Shimmer Powder
and Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers.
Added some plasters tape (dry wall)
to help hold my bling in place.
I then went on to make my pink flower with
Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Dies
with  Nuvo Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder

After gluing several together I added the centre stamens
and lots of gold glitter.
Sponged it with Nuvo Mousse.
Putting that aside I continued with the background.
Here I had  fun adding some inked tulle,
flowers, prills, beads, diamond dust,
mini art stones inked with Art Alchemy Emerald Green paint,
pearls and gold thread.

A few close ups -

Finished with attaching my flower.

Products from Art and Soul Studio
Black Archival Ink
Nuvo Shimmer Powders/Mousse
AALL & Create Stencil
Stamperia Stencil
Finabair Mini Art Stones
Art Alchemy Metallic Paint

You can enter your project Here

Thank you for dropping in.
I will be back in a few weeks
with another much simpler project
as a Designer for Art and Soul Studio.

What's the 'TREND' at Just Us Girls?

It's Saturday and Post Day for
Just Us Girls and our Host for Trend Week is Carol
choosing one that has so many choices.

I knew I had some wood type digi paper
so dug out my woodgrain piece out of my bit box
and my card started from there. I then went on to
stamp some leaves from Kaisercraft and a bit of grunge
at the bottom from SU Timeless Textures.
I knew that I was going to use SU Rick Razzleberry
so cut out an
a Uniquely Creative cross stitch arch with some
hand made paper I have had in my stash for like forever.
I then inked up my new
in Rich Razzleberry then attached to
the same paper as the arch die.
Finished with some pearls
and adhered to Rich Razz card base.

Hope you will pop over and see more Trendy Cards
by our Special Guest Lisa Elton and the Team
and join us in our Gallery with yours.
Thanks for dropping by.

LOVE always

February is here and that means
LOVE is in the air! AND
Time for our New CUTploration Challenge
How appropriate and gorgeous is our Photo below!
You will find that  All the Details are Here
with beautiful creations from my Team Mates
and how you can join in the fun with prizes!

I loved the heart shape with those
beautiful coloured flowers so
added a few tiny cutouts.
What inspires you?

And talking of  flowers I knew the
STAMPlorations Bloom Doodles
(out of stock at present)
would be perfect for my card.
I wanted some texture for my background
so  stenciled  ARTplorations Retro Circles
with white texture paste.
After it was dry I cut it on an angle from
CUTplorations Crazy-Double-Running-Stitch-Nesting-Dies
I then coloured my doodled flowers/leaves with
Lindy's Tiffany Lou Blue Spray
Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder
and Ramblin' Rose Pink
and Leaf Green Magicals
These were fussy cut and attached to
my stenciled background.
The STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms Sentiment
was inked with Tim's Pickled Raspberry
onto my card base
with a few CUTplorations Clustered Hearts
surrounding it.
Here are the products I used from
 Our STAMPlorations Store

What's this weeks 'WORD' at Just Us Girls?

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's my turn to  Host our Word Week and since
February is all about LOVE - you guessed it.

I was planning on having a non Valentine card
but found some great cheapie stencils at our Dollar Type Store
so that went out the window.
I have gone pretty CAS here using once more
my Nuvo Shimmer Powders in
Catherine Pool,Cherry Bomb
and Storm Cloud for a darker contrast.
After I had finished my background I
stenciled the hearts with white texture paste.
Adhered this on to white card stock
then popped on to bright pink and
again popping it to my white card base.
Sentiments are from STAMPlorations
the CUTplorations Die was cut several time for depth
and the U is from an old Cuttlebug alphabet set.
And there you have it.

 Pop over to Our Blog
as we have a 'Special Guest Designer' this month.
It's Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales

I'm Excited to be a

Today is the day I get to announce that I have been invited
to be part of the Design Team over at
Creative Artiste Mixed Media Blog
so on the first of the month I will be showing you
some (hopefully) Creative Mixed Media.
I recently stepped outside one craft door and
another one opened a little bit further.
To all my blog friends that
wondered what direction I was heading - it's
to have fun experimenting more in Mixed Media!

Here is my first project as a Designer for
Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog.

As with  Mixed Media there is usually a LOT going on.
As my journey into MM is fairly new
I didn't have a plan in mind as to what I was going to create
so just started off on a 5 by 7 canvas
I always gesso them just in case. After that was dry
I cut up bits of plaster's tape (dry wall) and adhered to the corners.
Adding colour with Tainted Love Teal
and Witches Potion Purple Magical's.
I then stenciled the background with
Tim's Stone Stencil and Dutch Doobadoo Pop Art
with white texture paste.
Added some Kaisercraft script and
waterdrops from Impression Obsession
then rows of cotton before
adhering a large flourish and a SB die.
Butterfly was cut from Mulberry Paper and
topped with a flower, adding more either side.
Added a few Liquid Pearl drops and some
white splatters, some shimmer on the flowers
and butterfly with a sentiment to finish.

A few close ups!

Pop over to Our Blog
and welcome the Designers - returning and new
and check out what wonderful creations they have made,
then join us this month for some fun Mixed Media Mayhem.
Hope to see yours in our Gallery!

Check out my New Watermarks below
and the one attached to my project.
Aren't they Awesome!
A Big THANK YOU to my friend Aussie aNNie
for creating them for me.
I have quite a selection now.
Thanks for dropping in

Make a Wish

It's a New Month and time for a
New Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers

Here's how I made my card.
I recently got a new Feathery stamp/die set from
STAMPlorations and had to try them out.
First I lightly sprayed my Lindy's Sprays in
Gecko Green and blotted to leave a soft colour.
Heat embossed with green pearl powder on the feathers and
blended the same colour as above.
I inked my watercolour paper with
Lindy's Tiffany Lou Blue and die cut.
To add my metallic effect I added
Stampendous Embossing Enamel in
Aged Copper to the tips.
The one feather was popped.
Added some gold splatters and
Nuvo Copper Penny Drops.
Finished with a MFT die cut sentiment
from the same set.
Adhered to coloured card base.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created.
Hope you get to play with us this month
and see you in our Gallery.

Thanks for dropping in.

It's 'Black Magic'

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
This will be my last posting as a Designer here
as new doors have opened for me and
it's in a different direction.
I will still be card making - just not as many
as I normally do.
Sorry for the poor quality of this photo.
You know how hard it is with metallic paper.

This card was made quite some time ago
and never got around to blogging it -
so here is my attempt at the
Black Ice Technique.
I had this sticky backed metallic paper
and decided to try it out.
You can find the processHere.
While heat embossing it I noticed
that the edges were curling so
I continued with it and liked the result.
Adhered it to grey card stock.
My rose stamp is from Penny Black called Temptation.
I bunched up my black ribbon
adding a Starform Sticker to finish.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates created for our
Challenge.
Look forward to seeing you in our Gallery.
Thanks so much for your lovely encouraging comments.
Also a BIG THANK YOU to Kylie for giving me the
opportunity to be part of this Team.

Till next time Cherrio from

'Travel' on the High Seas

Hello and Welcome to Saturday's post for
Just Us Girls
Hosting this week's Photo Challenge is Nancy.

I think I only own one teeny weeny stamp
that has boat related images and is from Prima Marketing.
I inked my ship and sentiment with
 VersaFine Clair in Fallen Leaves
on to cream card stock
and touched up with some blue shimmer.
Matted this with SU card stock.
The background DP is also from SU called Going Places.
Punched the squares from a CM punch for effect
and again matted with the blue paper.
Added a strip of DP behind my ship
after colouring the cord to match.
This was slightly popped as is the framed ship.
Card base is cream.
Makes for a nice male card to add to my makes.

Thanks for dropping in.
Don't forget to pop over and see what inspiration
our Guests Cindy and Janet
and the Team took from that great photo.
Come join us in the Gallery.
You could be our next Chic of the Week
and go on to be chosen as our Guest for March.
Till next time - Cherrio from

It's all about the 'LOVE'

There's a Love Hop and Linky Party going on over at
STAMPlorations and I joined in with a few Love Cards
Check out the details Here!

No photo description available.

I started my backgrounds with
Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Catherine Wheel
Hard to believe that both card backgrounds I made
are with the same powder. One has just had more
colour removed. These powders are just like
Brusho's or Magical's. I added water to the
paper then spread the powders.
I used the same ARTplorations Rows of Hearts Stencil
adding dimension with white texture paste.
I liked how the darker colour seeped through
the texture pasted stencil on this card.
After all that was dry I inked my new
STAMPlorations All the Love Typografia Romantique
stamp several times then decided to heat emboss with
Ranger Red Cinnabar. It has a lovely gold mix with it.
Finished this card with a few hearts from the
CUTplorations Clustered Hearts Die
that you will see more of on the card below.
Attached to red card base.
My second card  is only slightly different
as I thought the textured stencil would be
too big for the sentiment.
This is when I decided to get out my
CUTplorations Clustered Hearts Die
I had some spares left over from another project
adding a tiny gold one to the biggest heart.
Sprinkled some gold mica powder over the textured hearts.
The CUTplorations LOVE die was cut three times
from Art Alchemy Metallique Brass painted paper
 and mounted for dimension.
Finished by attaching to pink card base.
***
There is so much going on with this
Hop and Linky Party and I urge you to
check it all out by hopping along and commenting.
Shery also has a gorgeous free digi you can use -
link up and you could win some of the
over $100's worth of Prizes.
Just check that Link at the top of this post!

These are the products I used. Unfortunately
the LOVE Word die must be out of stock at present
so have added it to one of my cards above.

Now you have seen my makes for this event
and hope you will pop over and see all the other
'Love Themed' creations by my STAMPloration Team Mates.

So hope to see you in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in
