Just a 'Reminder'

Posting today for our Reminder that you still have time to
play over at STAMPlorations for our December Challenges.

Check out all the details and Reminder Projects
HERE

No photo description available.

Not long now till the big day and there is always
so much going on this month so again I went
REALLY CAS for my Reminder Post.
I love the shape of  this
ARTplorations Christmas Tree Stencil
I added a really thick coat of
Cadence Metallic Champagne Relief Paste
onto metallic gold card stock and left it
overnight to dry,
I popped it onto a deeper gold metallic card base
then finished with my sentiment from
STAMPlorations Christmas Elf
and embossed in gold popping it also.
Told you it was CAS but doesn't it look good with that thick texture.
So hard to get a decent photo with the gold shimmer.
CAS is what I need to get some of my Christmas cards made.
Here are the two products I used above.

On the First Day of Christmas!

There's a super fun challenge over at
Double D Challenges focusing on the
popular Christmas song - Twelve Days of Christmas
which starts of with - On the First Day of Christmas
My True Love Gave to Me and so on...
Check it out Here

This was such a different type of Christmas card for me -
All the more reason to go with something new.
I so enjoyed making it.

Starting off with all the variety of colours in my
partridge image I went delving into my
DP bits box and came up trumps!
I cut my image from a wonky die then
backed it with some dp that matched his feathers.
The back layers were cut and framed then
adhered to a leaf embossed piece of card stock.
Again I matted it with grey to match up with the DP.
My large leaf flourish is from Kaisercraft and has
a couple of tiny coloured circles that I added glossy accents to.
The pears, bird beak and eye were also touched up with
glossy accents. Don't you love how the pears just pop!
Sentiment is from Tim Holtz Great Outdoors.
Card base is from Bazzill, matching the colour of the birds beak.

Thanks for popping in

All is Calm - All is Bright

Hello and Welcome to my post as a Designer for
It's an Anything Goes Mixed Media Challenge
using multiple mediums on our project.

I so enjoyed making my Wintery Christmas Hanger
especially as it is the complete opposite here - HOT HOT HOT.
I started with a gessoed 5x7 canvas adding
Dreamweaver White Crackle Paste on the top half and
a really thick layer of White Texture Paste. Heavy Gesso
and Fantasy Snow for the snowy ground.
I have used Lindy's Caribbean Blue, Blue Hawaiian Blue
Afternoon Delight Denim, Oom Pah Pah Pink,
Distress Oxide Broken China and Iced Spruce
for the background scene.
I inked my  images several time from Tim's Great Outdoors
onto tissue paper with Black Archival Ink
tearing carefully and applying to my canvas with
Gloss Gel Medium.
Added splatter of white paint for more snow.
Blinged up the sky with some Stampendous Twinkle Glitter
and a big glittered snowflake.
Finished off with  Finnabair Royal Robes
and Brushed Iron waxing giving the snow added colour.
Sentiment is cut out and inked from the stamp set.
Thought it needed hanging so added the wrinkly wire.
As we plan to get ready for Christmas, time goes so fast but
I did manage to take a few photos as I went along.

Adding the sky and snow
the inked trees and deer on tissue paper
with all the colours and bling
 and all pasted to canvas

That's all for this year for me at
Head over and see what the Talented Team created
and come join in this month. I am sure you will have
lots of creativity happening so I look forward to
seeing what you have been playing with.

As we are having January off I will be back with
more Mixed Media makes in the New Year.

Till then
Merry Christmas and
a Guid New Year to ane an' a' as the Scot's say
A Good New Year to  one and all

'tis nearly Christmas Time

It really is 'Nearly' Christmas Time as December is upon us.
It's the first day of Summer here in Australia so
for our Anything Goes Watercolour Challenge at
Happy Little Stampers and our Option being Christmas
I went softly softly with my watercoloured floral card.
Too hot here for the traditional reds and greens.

It's hard to believe but the only item I used to
colour my Large Christmas Flower from STAMPlorations
         is from Lindy's Magical Shaker
in Oom Pah Pah Pink. I heat embossed it in white then
tapped some powder onto my work surface
and spritzed it with water and painted with a water brush.
I lightly smooched the background with
some of the leftovers and added
heat embossed random text.
Die cut a simple Merry Christmas sentiment
and finished by adding some Little Birdie
Texture Embossing Paste and puffed it up.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and join in the festivities by adding yours
to our Gallery this month.
Hope to see you there.
As this is my last post for our
Watercolour Challenge for the year
I would like to wish you all a
Merry Christmas.
See you in the New Year.

Anything Goes at Just Us Girls Wild Card Week

Hello and Welcome to our
Last Challenge for 2019 for Just Us Girls
Vicki as Host has chosen an easy peasy one for us.

and 'cause we I don't use my Christmas Stash enough
I thought I should get in and do just that.

After seeing This Card on Pinterest
I really liked it so have cased it here.
I started my background using Tim's Distress Inks
in various colours then flicking water which turned out
looking like snowflakes.
The stamp set is Tim's Great Outdoors.
Inked the trees with Memento Luxe Northern Pine
several times to get a ghosting effect,
my deer with Gina K Amalgam Ink
and the stars with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink.
I felt I needed to add something to ground the deer
so used a mix of texture paste,
brown powders and tiny art stones.
Finished with the sentiment from the stamp set,
some matching cotton, frame and onto black card base.

Because we are having the month off
Vicki has given you the chance to add  your card
to our Gallery for all of December and will
Randomly choose one Winner to be our
Guest in February. So go for it!

Thank You all for your kind comments left here
and for supporting Just Us Girls challenges.
We will be back on January 4th 2020 to start over again
when Vicki will announce who our Guest will be.

It's a 'Christmas' Tradition

Hello and Welcome to today's post for the
Double D Blogspot where we are required to

Mine isn't what you call a style but it is a
Tradition I do yearly when making my
Christmas cards for my two sisters.
It always incorporates the use of tartan

and look at this lovely Mood Board
There's 'tartan/plaid' there!

I have this Elizabeth Design Merry Christmas die
which is quite large and knew it would be perfect
in front of my Echo Park 'tartan' paper.
It was cut from gold paper.
The hardest part then was the arrangement.
My Spellbinder and Marianne Design poinsettias
were coloured with Finnabair Waxes in
Mint Sparkle, Vintage Gold and Fire Ruby.
Background greenery dies are from Tim Holtz Holiday Greens
and Kaisercraft Berry Vines in metallic green and white.
Added some gold chunky glitter to the centres of the flowers
to finish it off and attaching to white card base.

That's it for now. I have another Christmas card scheduled
that will pop up in a wee while so two post from me today.
Hope you enjoy my take on this Challenge.

A 'Blooming Great Day'

the theme for this month is
Look for Circles Day
and perfect to ink up my favourite
Visible Image Stamp called Creative Chaos
as it has LOTS and LOTS of circles.

I started with a piece of watercolour card stock
that I had smooched from leftover
 Nuvo Cherry Bomb Shimmer Powder.
I then heat embossed that gorgeous flower with
black embossing powder then went to work on
inking up umteen circle images with
VersaFine Clair Summertime, Tulip Red
and Cheerful also circles from
That's Crafty Texture Stamp Set #2
Added a few patches of black from Prima Firefly stamp.
The centre of the flower is coloured with
Lindy's Prairie Wildflower Powders
in Yellow Rose of Texas and Peony Scarlet Red,
Grab a Guy Gold Shaker and the same Nuvo Powder as above.
Also randomly stamped inside the flower.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Carved Flowers
I added a Lawn Fawn Stitched Border
to the left side and corner rounded the bottom right.
Attached to SU Hello Yellow card stock.
Here's a close up of the flower centre.
I am also adding this to the
November Challenge for Ink Art Designs
over on Facebook as the stamp set
is available at the Store Here and
Addicted to Stamps for their
Anything Goes Challenge #179
and getting in by a smidgen for
The Flower Challenge #38 Spots or Stripes
with lots of spots!

There's an 'Aussie' Kinda Snowman too

It's snowing 'somewhere' just not here
but Maria is thinking of it and chose this photo
for this weeks Challenge at Just Us Girls
Hello and Welcome to my post.
Snowmen are scarce in my stamp stash
and the only snowman you would see near me is
 a 'sandman' near the beach
and this is exactly what I made here
to go with the traditional Snowy scene above.

The snow and sand man are from an old
Gina K stamp set 'Snow One Like You'
The wintery trees are from
Tim's Great Outdoors and the palm tree
Inkadinkado Flamingo Fun.
The snowman is covered with Liquid Pearls,
hat gloves and scarf red glitter.
and lots of other glitter to the background.
(a little hard to see)
The sandman inked in Australian colours and
got caught up in the sea foam from the rough sea lol
(puffed up with Little Birdie's Textured Embossing Paste)
Added some embossing powder also for the sand.

Did you have a little chuckle when you saw my
unconventional snowman?
I did have fun creating him, after all we will be
sweltering in the Summer Heat and the beach
really would be the place to be.
Pop over and see what Kristin and the Team created.
No doubt some adorable snowy creations.
Love to see yours in our Gallery.
Look forward to reading your thoughts on my
wintery/summery cards.
Thanks for dropping in.

Here for You

Hi there and Welcome.
Popping in to add this card to the
November Challenge over at the

I thought I would try something a little different with my
Monoprint card and used -
Lindy's Moonshadow Mist in Tawny Turquoise.
These are quite different to other Lindy's Sprays as they
have a sepia toned base with a fabulous shimmer
as you can see here and above.
Lindys Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist 2oz Bottle - Tawny Turquoise
I sprayed this onto the
Kaisercraft  Bamboo Stencil
flipped it over and pressed it down onto
my Acrylic Painting Paper I got from our local Aldi Store
It has a nice texture to it.
Lifted it off and was surprised how good a coverage I got.
I cut it to a size I wanted and framed with white.
I embossed the Kaisercraft Metal Plate folder on to white
card stock and popped the bamboo piece in front.
Added my STAMPlorations sentiment with
Tim's Gathered Twigs and inked the edges.
So glad I got this finished as the challenge ends in a few days
and have had the bamboo piece made for some time.
I did make another card with this technique and folder
in a different coloured spray but
is much larger and not quite enough white space
 for this challenge.

That's it for today. Too hot outside so giving me
some play time and even got started on Christmas cards
Yes I know I am so late this year - just hadn't felt like
getting my 'stuff' out before hand.
Bye for now

Perseverance Pays

Hello and Welcome to today's post for the
The heading says it all!

After spending an afternoon trying
This technique from Jay Soriano
all my efforts landed up you know where.
It wasn't as easy as it looked BUT I was
determined to keep trying so the
following day it worked. Yay!
So happy with the result
but has taken me an age
to try and get a decent photo with the silver foil
and soft stenciled background.
I used SU reinkers in
Rich Razzleberry, Brilliant Blue
Mossy Meadow and Yo Yo Yellow.
Some of these colours got lost in the drying
but happy that I got a pattern from it all.
Cut it out with a stitched die and
attached to white card base.
Added a die cut in silver and finished with the
silver strip on the side.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

A close up

My Mix is Oxidized Metal, Stamping,
Stenciling and Die Cutting.
Thanks to Susan for  picking this technique
enabling me to try something new and completely different..
Great inspiration from the Designers.

Till next time - Cherrio from

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

Angie is Host at Just Us Girls for our Colour Week.
Welcome to today's post.

Here is her colour choice.

I had a hard time heat embossing the
Altenew Frosted Garden. Just didn't come out clearly enough.
My background is made from Nuvo Blue Blitz Powder
in the tones above.
Sentiment is CUTplorations Celebrate Big Die
smooched in the same powder.
Added a white mat as a backing and
adhered to white card stock.
Not one of my favourite outcomes.
It happens sometimes doesn't it.

Pop over to Our Blog and see how our Guest Kristin
and the Team chose to use the lovely Teal Colours.
Join us this week and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
a Guest Spot in the New Year.
Thanks for dropping in
Love reading your comments!
