Just Us Girls Stencil Challenge

It's our stencil challenge this week at Just Us Girls
and Bobby is Hosting.

I started with the background using some
scrunched up cling wrap onto watercolour paper
using Tim's ox inks.
Picked a few AALL&Create stencils
being careful not to stencil where my
AALL&Create thistle image would be.
Inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne.
Added some purple posca splatters,
framed in black onto purple card base.

It's our Guest Kerry's last week with us
Thank You for sharing your talents
with us this month.
Head over to our website and check out
all things stencil from Kerry and the Team
and hope you are inspired to get yours out
and add to the Gallery.
Thanks for visitng

A Simple Hello!

It's time for our New Challenge over at  Cut It Up
and we are looking for you to
add embellishments on your creation.

Are you one that when you get a new 'something'
you just have to use it straight away?
This is how my card came about.
Tim's Abstract Florals had just landed in my mailbox
and I saw a card by a fellow teamie (Gerda)
that inspired me to get it inky. Now you have two cards
using the same set to be inspired by.
Here's how this card was created -
I started by inking the flower in
VersaFine Nocturne and heat embossed clear.
Die cut another inked flower for a mask which was used
so I could stencil the background from AALL&Create
 with Tim's oxide inks.
Die cut the bottom corner with Seth Apter's Splosh dies.
Added another die cut and inked.
Popped the circle with the 'Hello' from the set.
The background for that is smooched in
same colours as the stencilled one.
Inked up the flower with bright colours,
some stamping in the corners and finished with
lots of white posca splatters.
Attached to white card base.
This was 'so fun'
Head over and see how my talented teamies
added embellishments to their makes and
come join in with yours to our gallery.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for visiting -

Forever Grateful

Vicki is Hosting our Mood Board at Just Us Girls

I'm not a fan of pumpkin so
I reach out for my favourite stamp/die set
Oh So Grateful from STAMPlorations
at this time of year.
A pretty simple card - colouring my
die cut pumpkin with ox inks,
adding some splatters and a strip of
coloured dp to add the sentiment.
It was inked with Versafine Clair Pinecone
(as was the pumpkin) which is very dark
 and heat embossed clear.
Adhered the pumpkin to some sissel
which you can't see
as a bed for it to sit on.
That's it!
Our Guest Kerry and the Team
have gone all out creative with this challenge
so head over and check them out.
Then I am sure you will want to  add yours to the Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Happy Fall...

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
It's our Word Week and Stephanie as Host chose
LEAVES.

As I already had Tim's leaves out on my desk
and it's that time of the year that trees show off their
beautiful colours as they shed their leaves.
I cheated again here using DP for my die cut leaves.
I inked my background with colours to match.
Sentiment is from an old Gina K stamp, die cut from MFT
and popped. Leaves are also popped.
Attached to white card base.
Head over and check out what our Guest Kerry
and the Team created - lots of inspiration there
to check out then you will want to join in
with yours to the Gallery.
See you there!

Live your ART!

It's time for our Monthly Anything Goes
Unfortunately photos don't always do a project justice as is the case here.

I managed to have some time to play here
after hubby was hospitalized then came home with covid.
I picked that up and now just getting back to normal.
Time was running out and I was lucky this piece
 came together easily.
The leaves are 'real' picked up from an excursion and
die cut with Tim's leaf dies.
Added some clear crackle glaze but didn't turn out (shame)
Background are DP's to help create quickly.
Added some stenciling and stamping.
Inked the edges and curled one.
Splatters are from my poska pen.
Attached to white card and brown base.

I did manage a few photos.
Head over and check out what our Guest Vicki (fellow D Teamie)
and the Team created for your pleasure
and hope you get time to add your Mixed Media
to our Gallery using multiple mediums.
Thanks for visiting

Inspired by - What Song?

Hello and Welcome to today's post.
We have a super fun challenge over at Cut It Up!
Do you have a favourite song that you could incorporate into a card?
This is what the Design Team have been playing with
(and perhaps the song is still running around in our heads)
Mine is a simple one to pick!
I am a huge Paul McCartney - Beatles fan so I picked one he sang -
PS I Love You  (the 1963 version of course)

I die cut a bunch of hearts in bronze, rose pink and metallic cream,
two parts of a big die cut heart and a huge Love die.
Remembered I had some old CB embossing strips
so included one for interest to the back.
After I  finally placed the hearts it was time for the part that
incorporated the song that inspired this card.
I die cut more old CB dies but didn't have
enough room for the PS (lol) to go with
I Love You. Added a shadow to the words,
including the big Love die.
Added a few smaller hearts to the centre.
Card base and topper is metallic paper.
Didn't want to frame it so added small leftover strips
to both sides to complete.
It will be fun to check out the gallery to see
What song the DT were inspired by to create their card.
We'd love to see yours.

A Simple 'Hello'

It's our Colour Week at Just Us Girls and
our Lovely Lisa is Host and chose such gorgeous colours.
As it is a New Month we have a New Guest Designer.
A Big Welcome to Kerry Parkinson
So glad to have you with us for October.

Here's a close up shimmer!

I had fun inking my Kaisercraft butterfly in the required colours
and attached to die cut background. This was popped onto
the middle of a peek a boo die.
Some framing on the side with leftovers.
Simple STAMPlorations sentiment and a bit of splatter to finish.
Bling completes my pretty butterfly.
Check out how our Talented Guest Kerry
and the Team enjoyed creating with these fun colours
then - your turn to add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting!

Oh HAPPY Day!

It's our Stencil Week at Just Us Girls and Elizabeth is Hosting!

It was relaxing creating my simple inked stencil card
as I have done here. Just used three distress inks
with ARTplorations Ethnic Organic 1
Die cut a vellum circle from MFT,
inked and heat embossed the sentiment
adding a few pearls, attached to white card base
and I'm done.
Head over and see how our Guest Nancy
and the Team used their stencils and
then hope to see yours in the Gallery.
We bid farewell to our Talented Guest Nancy
and loved having her share her talents with us this month.
Thank you Nancy.
I know we will see you in our Gallery again soon

The Seasons of Change!

Welcome to  our New Challenge over at Cut It Up
All over the world the Seasons are changing.
Spring has sprung in my surrounds but
we are looking for colours of Fall/Autumn.

Here's close up of the colours.

I got out my set of  Lindy's Magical's Autumn Leaves,
sprinkled and sprayed them on a sheet of water colour paper
and cut the backgrounds in various colours,
cut the heads in white and glued them off to the side.
Background is a texture die cut from Kaisercraft.
Arranged my leaves and popped.
I thought the sentiment fitted the theme nicely.
Adhered to whte card base.
The Team have created some fun and fabulous array of
all things Fall/Autumn related for your pleasure.
Now it's your turn to share with take in our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Spring has Sprung!

Welcome to today's post for  Just Us Girls
I am Host for this week's challenge
and as Spring has arrived in my neck of the woods
I chose these beautiful bunches of FLOWERS!

I am sure we have all had a card that was nothing like
what we planned and this one is just that.
I had intended to ink up a floral stamp and colour it
but couldn't decide which one. In the end
I went with Tim's Wildflower Stems 1
and again changed my layout umteen times.
The colours turned out nicely but not exactly what I wanted.
Background is Tim's Splatters
and a bit of grungy stamping.
Scrunched up and inked a bit of word tissue paper
and arranged my floral bouquet on top.
Added a bit of shine to the centre of the flowers.
Spring sentiment is from CUTplorations.
Head over and check out how our Guest Nancy
and the Team showered our blog with all things floral.
See you there

and die cut from MFT. Inked the edges.
Adhered to brown card base.
Check out what our Guest Nancy and the Team created.

This IS in My Garden...

We are looking for What's In Your Garden at
As you know I recently moved house and the villa
we moved in didn't have much of a garden so -
I am in the process of changing that as I do love a garden.
It is only very small so I have been busy potting
as well as adding some colourful flowers and shrubs.

I chose to try and replicate one shrub that has a
beautiful pink flower. It is in a pot sitting on
pebble stones like I embossed here and behind it
is the brick wall. Added lots of greenery
 from a few dies.
I decided to ground the pot with bauxite stones
and cover the pot with art stones.
Sentiment fitted perfectly.
The Talented Team have amazing takes on
'What's in their Garden'
Now it's your turn to show us by
addng to our Gallery.
Thanks for visitng.

See it 'GROW'

It's been a long time coming but
I am back getting inky for our September AG

I haven't quite finished sorting out my MM supplies
so have gone with some more 'easy to find items' here.
The piece I used for my die  cut tag is one
made quite some time ago.Tim's die cut flower
is also from a scrap I had sitting around.
Got out some favourite AALL&Create stamps
for the background stamping, adding some stencilling.
The pot is popped and I added some
sisal and art stones.
Inked the edges and fnished with
some wrapping ribbon.
Sorry there are no progress photos
as craft time is still limited.
Head over to our blog and check out
what creativity is in store for you there by the Team.
Be inspired and join in with your Mixed Media
to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Case a DT Week!

It's our Case a DT Week at Just Us Girls
and our week to make whatever we fancy
for you to choose one of the DT makes and case it.
Just be sure to say who's card you chose.

I got out my favourite Visible Image Stamp Set
Creative Chaos. I love that big flower as it is
an easy one to add a popped head as I have done here.
The background and flower head are from
a shaving cream session some time ago.
Inked the flower with VersaFine Clair Nocturne
then popped the cut out head highlighting
with another piece with more colour.
Inked the edges and added strips of black
with a credit card -
(thanks to Karen Dunbrook who showed us this trick)
Added a little bling to the flower with Lindy's Marvel-ous EP.
Finished with sentiment inked and torn from the set.
Head over to our Gallery to see what the Team created
and choose the one you want to case.
Looking forward to seeing yours there also.
Thanks for visiting.

Don't Ruffle My Feathers!

Today's post is for our New Challenge at Cut It Up
and we are looking for the popular
ANYTHING GOES!

I thought I would dig out an old favourite
stamp/die set from SU and go with
Kraft card stock. Two feathers were inked with
VersaFine Clair and the third is vellum.
Inked the background with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink
and splatters for interest.
Finished with twine.
Simple sentiment that I thought fitted perfectly.
Check out the variety of lovelies created by
our Talented Team and then head over and
add your make to our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping by.

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls and I have another
oh so CAS one.

This isn't my first attempt - how hard is it to create
with something as simple as a stencil!
Today was thank goodness productive.
Stencil-ing was inked with Tim's Distress inks
from  ARTlorations.
Floral stamping with VersaFine Clair popped
and a little bit of ribbon was all it needed to complete.
Our Guest Bonnie and the Team have been busy
creating lovely cards so head over and check them out.
Then your turn to add to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

I Picked These!

Time for more fun this week at Just Us Girls  for our
Mood Board Challenge chosen by our Host the Lovely Lisa.

Here's a close up!
and so much to pick from eh!
I couldn't go past the lovely daisies.
The background is a mix of Lindy's Magical's then
heat embossed a few circle dies,
more magical's in the centre of the daisies -
the larger one popped.
Simple sentiment and framed with a piece of
leftovers from another card and attached to card base.
The bees are certainly humming over on our blog
with our Guest and the Team so head over and
see for yourself then it's your turn to buzz on over
with your inspiration from the gorgeous Mood Board.
See you there.

Friday 9 August 2024

We are 'Thinking of You' at Cut It Up.

I'ts time for our New Challenge at
I am still getting my craft creativity back slowly
after the big move.
The hardest part is remembering where things
are in their new spot.

I had a piece of pretty w/c paper on my desk and
made for a nice cut out.
Added  a couple of stamens and a pearl to the centre.
Background is a touch of Tim's stencilling for added interest.
Sentiment is simply Thinking of You.
I had the edges of the w/c paper so cut two pieces
and angled them behind my die cuts
Head over and check out what the
Talented Design Team created for your pleasure
and join in by adding yours to our Gallery.
