Season's Greetings...

Our next challenge over at
Cut It Up Challenge is to use more than one die.

I got out a favourite from CUTplorations
Holiday Word Die cut with red card stock
and heat embossed clear.
My background is again from my bits box (handy eh)
Second die cut is also from CUTplorations
cut with white card stock and adhered to vellum.
Attached to grey card base -
an easy peasy one and just right for Christmas creations.
Head over and see what dies my team mates chose
and add yours to our gallery.
Hope to see you there.

As this is my last post before the Big Day
I wish you all a Merry Christmas
and be back just after on the 27th.

Thanks for visiting

Season's Greetings...

Christmas is closing in and it is
our last challenge of the year at Creative Artiste Mixed Media
so  a bit of Christmas MM is called for.

After a few attempts I found this photo taken
on my living room floor showed up the best lol
It started with -

die cutting frames, tags, corner pieces
and heat embossing some grunge in gold.
Then some painstakingly piece-ing together
Tim's Floral Brushstroke with two tones of metallic paper
and a touch of vellum leaves. Then lots of gold splatters.

Arranging the layers and checking out where and
how much gold thread to add

and which pearls after final layering.

Adding close up of sentiment from an old Spellbinder die
with pearls either side.

and a few more close ups

and again the end result.

Head over to our Blog and check out how our
Talented Guests Linda and Erika shared their talents with us this month
and of course how my Very Talented Creative Team Mates
created and inspired you to share yours in our Gallery.
As with each year we take January off so
I will be back in February to have fun creating
 and get a little messy.
Thank you to my Team Mates and for
your support through the disruptive year of my moving house.

Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to you all.

A Simple Stately Stencilled Stag!

Lisa is Hosting our last challenge for the year at
Just Us Girls and it is our Stencil Challenge.

I saw THIS card on Pinterest by Maria Fischer
and as I had both stencil and stamp
both from STAMPlorations I cased her card.
Inked up the MM grunge background.
The stag stencil is a favourite and I had a bit of fun
with him this time round.
I started with transparent crackle paste
sprinkling over the top while wet with
Parisan Rosewood Artisan Powder.
Once the crackle was dry I brushed the
artisan powder lightly giving to a misty background.
To seal the stag I put the stencil back on
sealing with gloss gel medium.
Die cut the 25 with Tim's alphabet.
Finished with some sparkly washi tape.
Check out what our Guest Jenn
and the Talented Team created with their stencils
and hope to see yours in the Gallery.

We bid a sad farewell to our very talented Stephanie
stepping down from DT duties.
It has been such a pleasure to have played with you
as part of our team and wish you the very best.
Thank You.
I know we will see you pop in when you can.
Thanks also to our November Guest Jenn for
sharing with us this month.
As with each year we take December off
for time out to share the Holiday Season
in our own way and be refreshed to start again
in the New Year.
Come back on the 2nd January to se what we have
in store for you.
Thank you for all your kind comments throughout the year.

Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!

In the Christmas 'Mood'

It's our Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls
and Hosting is Carol Mc spoiling us with choice.

I went with the red green and gold
heart and wreath baubles in a fun way.
I bought this stamp last year and only just found
a bunch of Christmas supplies still in a packing box.
I inked it up with SU Mossy Meadow
and heat embossed so I could play around with the background
being careful with my Lindy's Magical's
adding colours to each bauble. Splattered it with my
gold posca pen which came out a bit too much so inked the edges
with a fan pain brush.
Check out what our Guest Jenn and the Team
created with that fun board and come join in the fun
with yours to our Gallery.

Tim's wilted violet, ground espresso and a couple of greens
(forgot what they were)
Layered and popped them up

stencil is Kaisercraft Leaves, framed back,
layered STAMPlorations sentiment
and a few gems.

A close up of the layered coneflower

What's the WORD at Just Us Girls?

It's Just Us Girls Word Week hosted by Sue.
Being so close to Christmas it's a go to word for sure

BUT
I went a different way with a sentiment that would
work for any special day.
My background is another from my bits box Yay!
I love a stamp that has a mix of features like the one I  have here.
(A gift from a friend who knows me well )
I inked it with Versafine Clair Nocturne and heat embossed it.
Other stamping around the edges is from a newbie from AALL&Create.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies
framed in black.
Finished by framing in white
 on to black card base.
Lovely to have you share your talent with us.
Head over and see Jenn's card
and how my talented team mates used the word JOY.
I am sure you will want to join us by
adding yours to the Gallery.

Never Hide your Wings!

Time for our monthly challenge over at

It took several goes to finally create something this month.
Nothing seemed to work out but this came together in the end.

I started my background with some light stencilling,
adding torn dp. I love working with corrugated board so
that was next then some scrunched thick brown paper.
A tiny white frame was cut to encase my dragonfly.
The top part of the dragonfly was cut ever so carefully with
purple tissue paper, adding a tiny gem. Behind the brown paper
is a strip of dp for added effect.
My go to posca splatters were flicked then some matt wax
Added a cardboard circle and button
with some purple thread.
To finish - an appropriate sentiment.
Attached to thick corrugated cardboard that was also
coloured with wax.

Just a couple of photos...

Head over and check how the Team got creative
and pop yours in the gallery for us to check out.
Thanks for popping in.

Thanks!

It's a Grateful/Thankful Challenge over at Cut it Up Blog
I went for a simple Thanks.

I was looking for something simple so went searching
in my bits box and found this colourful piece
I knew would work with Tim's Artsy Stems
cut in white as a contrast to the busy background.
I cut three CUTplorations thanks dies for dimention then
the fourth was shadowed with the same dp I used for a frame.
Added some white splatters to help with the white dies.
Adhered to white card base to complete.
Head over to our blog and check out
what the talented designers created
and join in with yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

Case a DT at Just Us Girls

It's our Case a Designer from the Team this week at Just Us Girls
and my turn to be your Host.

While I was rummaging through my bits box
I came across this piece that I had heat embossed
in three different colours - bronze, gold and silver
long long ago. An easy card -  picked out a sentiment
die cut it three times in silver for depth,
attached and framed it in silver on to black card base.
Shame the photo doesn't show it's true shine.

Your turn to check out what the Team created
and pick which one you chose to case
and don't forget to mention whose caught your eye
and add to our gallery.
See you there.

Just Us Girls Stencil Challenge

It's our stencil challenge this week at Just Us Girls
and Bobby is Hosting.

I started with the background using some
scrunched up cling wrap onto watercolour paper
using Tim's ox inks.
Picked a few AALL&Create stencils
being careful not to stencil where my
AALL&Create thistle image would be.
Inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne.
Added some purple posca splatters,
framed in black onto purple card base.

It's our Guest Kerry's last week with us
Thank You for sharing your talents
with us this month.
Head over to our website and check out
all things stencil from Kerry and the Team
and hope you are inspired to get yours out
and add to the Gallery.
Thanks for visitng

A Simple Hello!

It's time for our New Challenge over at  Cut It Up
and we are looking for you to
add embellishments on your creation.

Are you one that when you get a new 'something'
you just have to use it straight away?
This is how my card came about.
Tim's Abstract Florals had just landed in my mailbox
and I saw a card by a fellow teamie (Gerda)
that inspired me to get it inky. Now you have two cards
using the same set to be inspired by.
Here's how this card was created -
I started by inking the flower in
VersaFine Nocturne and heat embossed clear.
Die cut another inked flower for a mask which was used
so I could stencil the background from AALL&Create
 with Tim's oxide inks.
Die cut the bottom corner with Seth Apter's Splosh dies.
Added another die cut and inked.
Popped the circle with the 'Hello' from the set.
The background for that is smooched in
same colours as the stencilled one.
Inked up the flower with bright colours,
some stamping in the corners and finished with
lots of white posca splatters.
Attached to white card base.
This was 'so fun'
Head over and see how my talented teamies
added embellishments to their makes and
come join in with yours to our gallery.
Hope to see you there.

Forever Grateful

Vicki is Hosting our Mood Board at Just Us Girls

I'm not a fan of pumpkin so
I reach out for my favourite stamp/die set
Oh So Grateful from STAMPlorations
at this time of year.
A pretty simple card - colouring my
die cut pumpkin with ox inks,
adding some splatters and a strip of
coloured dp to add the sentiment.
It was inked with Versafine Clair Pinecone
(as was the pumpkin) which is very dark
 and heat embossed clear.
Adhered the pumpkin to some sissel
which you can't see
as a bed for it to sit on.
That's it!
Our Guest Kerry and the Team
have gone all out creative with this challenge
so head over and check them out.
Then I am sure you will want to  add yours to the Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Happy Fall...

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
It's our Word Week and Stephanie as Host chose
LEAVES.

As I already had Tim's leaves out on my desk
and it's that time of the year that trees show off their
beautiful colours as they shed their leaves.
I cheated again here using DP for my die cut leaves.
I inked my background with colours to match.
Sentiment is from an old Gina K stamp, die cut from MFT
and popped. Leaves are also popped.
Attached to white card base.
Head over and check out what our Guest Kerry
and the Team created - lots of inspiration there
to check out then you will want to join in
with yours to the Gallery.
See you there!
