Be 'Thankful'

Hello Crafty Friends! What's in store today?
It's Saturday which means it's Just Us Girls Challenge Day.

Hosting this weeks Word Challenge is Maria
choosing a very appropriate word THANKFUL.

I know it has only been a few weeks since you saw this
Rubbernecker Poppy Stamp here BUT I love it and again it is
close to our Remembrance Day in Australia.

Why is this date so Special?
Armistice Day is on 11th November and is also known as Remembrance Day.
It marks the day World War One ended,
at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.
A two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in wars.

Just this time it isn't (but it should be) a Red Poppy!
I thought I would try using Tim's Oxide Inks
in Dusty Concord & Wilted Violet
What an unusual result! Once again I offset it.
Added some splatters from Purple Brusho's.
I cut this out with a scallop stitched die and popped.
Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the centre of the flowers.

So that's it for me for today.
Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to see what our November Guest Trina Pham
and the Jugheads created.
I'm sure you will find time to play
and show us your 'Thankful' creations.

By the way! The Jugheads are taking December off so
those chosen as a Chic of the Week  in November
will be in the running for 2 Guest Spots when we
come back rested and raring to go again in January.

Delight in the Little Things

Hello Crafty Ones - today's post is all about
'A Word' because it is
at Just Us Girls and choosing
our word 'Light' is Host - Sue.

I'd like to welcome our October Guest
The Very Talented  Karola from Invisible Pink Cards.
Nice to have you share your work with us this month.

I chose the sentiment
'Delight in the little things' from
taking just the 'light' from Delight!
for my inspiration.
My cup has been heat embossed onto
coloured cas and features behind it
as assortment of grunge from
STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge
and a few flowers also from STAMPlorations
inked up with SU Rich Razzleberry
Memento London Fog & Lulu Lavender.
This was cut with a stitched die and adhered to my card base.
I fussy cut my tea cup and popped it.
Added my sentiment and a few gems.
Inside I have inked up
Good things always happen over a
cup of tea.
from the same stamp set.
Now I think it's time for
THAT cup of tea.

Thanks for popping in.
Don't forget to check out what our
October Guest Karola
and the Team have created.
Come join in and you could be our Chic of the Week
and in the running to be a future Guest.

'Groovy'

Doesn't every woman 'Love Shoes'
I sure hope you do 'cause Lisa is Hosting our
Latest Challenge over at Just Us Girls
choosing just that as it is Word Week!
We have a new Guest Designer for September.
Welcome Linda from
http://linscraftcorner-linda.blogspot.com/
Lovely to have you join us this month.

I just love the awesome STAMPlorations Groovy Shoes
stamp set I used here.
I heat embossed  my image in black
then adding Brusho's in Brilliant Red & Black.
on water colour paper.
I wanted something a little different - bold and dramatic
and remembered I had some brightly coloured
Gelly Plate Pulls that I had made when my friend Cheryl
came to stay a while back.
I backed my shoe with red card stock, popped it
onto a cut out piece of the gelly plate pull.
It is a shame I couldn't get the silver metallic paint
I used to show up on the photograph as it really looks fabulous.
Again I framed it with red great and onto black card base.
Added a touch of silver splatters,WOS to the shoe sole
and a girl needed some bling on that groovy shoe.
The sentiment is also from the stamp set above.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog to check out
more shoe inspiration from our September Guest
Linda and the Team -  come join us this week.
You could just be chosen as Chic of the Week
and then be in the running for
Guest Designer in November.

Thanks for dropping in. Love reading your comments!

Hey There!

Hosting this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls is BOBBY
and she has chosen the word GEOMETRIC and is sure to
give us some fabulous creations.
Here's what I had fun making - so cas but I thought rather cool.

I recently received the ARTplorations Broken Glass stencil
which is just perfect especially when I had the
Banners Dies from MFT with the same type of shape.
So my card was born.
My background was stencilled with silver acrylic paint
and once dry I added my banners in different shapes
cut from those swats you get at a hardware store
and framed behind it in pink.
Finished with some bling and sentiment - heat embossed
by Paper Smooches -  Sentiment Sampler. Love the fonts!

Pop over and see what the Team
and our March  Guest Designer -
Nance Salkeld from Soul Stampin
have create for your inspiration.
Hope to see your creation over at Our Blog
and you could be our next Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer for May.

Thanks for dropping by

Going to the 'Dogs'

We are going to the 'dogs' for our Word Week with
Lisa  as Hostess at Just Us Girls

This is a new month and we have our February Guest
Michele Greenwood with us. Welcome!
***
I thought my Scottie Dog from Marianne Designs
was a good choice - a chance to make a male card again.
Of course I had to match it up with Tartan DP
(which by the way came all the way from Scotland)
This was a really easy cas card.
Starting with basic card colours
I added my tartan dp cut with a stitched die
cutting my dog out of black card stock
and mounted him on Spellbinder circle dies.
Sentiment is SU cut from a JustRite die.
That's it!

Hope you will pop over and check out what our
February Guest Michele Greenwood
and my Talented Team Mates created.
Hope you find time to play this week and
look forward to seeing over at Just Us Girls

# Update - Going to pop this over to
Addicted to CAS for their Pets Challenge

Thanks for dropping in. Love reading your comments.

It's all about the 'NEW'

'HAPPY NEW YEAR' My crafty friends.
Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas/New Year break
and ready to get creative once more.
***
I am Hosting the first Challenge for 2017 over at
Just Us Girls and it is our 'Word Week'
For this I chose 'NEW'  which can mean so many different things!
New beginnings, new house, new baby,
new craft products (I am sure we all have them)
or go with a new technique. Your choice!
I went with the 'new products' I received recently.
***
A Big Welcome to our first Guest for 2017
Shawna Standish from The Grand Stampede

My card is fairly cas choosing a 'recently new'
stencil and sentiment stamps.
The stencil is ARTplorations Happy Flowers
and sentiments STAMPlorations Floral Bliss
Card base is Tangarine cs
My focal point has been cut with a stitched die
from white cs. I inked my stencil image with
Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn and
SU Calypso Coral and touches of Iridescent Medium.
I sponged the background of the flowers with
a wet baby wipe dipped in left over Calypso Coral.
Finished with some pearls to match.

Check out what 'New' inspiration
we created for you Here and then
pop your 'new' project in. You could be our Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer in March.

Thanks for dropping by

It's a 'Christmas Tree'

It's 'Word Week' at Just Us Girls and Hosting is
Nancy who chose 'Christmas Tree' as our Word.
How appropriate is that!

I have seen so many different types of Christmas trees
on Pinterest so I thought I would give it a go for something
'A Little Different'
I must admit I had fun decorating my card.
I started by backing my card base with
DP  then added a stitched die cut for my
Christmas Tree which is popped.
I have this unusual coloured glitter paper
which matched the DP. Then the fun began.
My tree is kraft paper. Next step was to
cut out lots of different sized circles from
various bits of scraps filling the gaps with
sequins pearls punched stars and tiny circles.
My sentiment is cut from that glitter paper and
is from Paper Smooches - which by the way
cuts beautifully.

Pop over to Our Blog to see more
fabulous Christmas Trees from the Talented Team
and a Big Welcome to our  December Guest  Theresa Gregory
Come play with us this week..

I am dropping off this card over at
AAA Cards for their CAS
Circles Challenge. Details are Here

It may not look cas but it really is -
just a lot of circles added to a tree trunk.

Thanks for dropping in
Love reading your comments.

I'm Hosting this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls

I am hosting this weeks challenge over at
Just Us Girls for our Colour Week.
Most of you know my favourite colour is Purple
and I love to combine it with Teal.
Since it is close to Christmas I chose  Gold
as the third colour.
I love making non traditional coloured Christmas cards
(and that is what I went with)
I couldn't not make a Christmas card without pulling out
my favourite Poinsettia die from Spellbinders.
Now I have NEVER seen a poinsettia the colours I chose
but what the heck! It's different.
My card base is white.
My first layer is embossed with an old Cuttlebug
Christmas embossing folder.
Cutting a piece of DP from American Crafts with
Spellbinder Labels 20 I attached that adding
ribbon and a small strip from a Starform sticker.
My berries and holly were cut out from Kaisercraft dies
I bought while on holidays (vacation)
The Merry Christmas die is also new for me and from Lawn Fawn.
Now on to THAT poinsettia -
I covered a sheet of card stock with spritzed
Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet
and touches of Blue Moonstone Sparkle Medium
then cut out the pieces for the flower.
There were some white bits showing so covered that with
Tim Holtz Milled Lavender.
Added some Inka Gold around the edges
and touched up with Wink of Stella
for a little more sparkle.
Finished with some dew drops.
Sorry for the long posting. Hope you had a coffee
while reading it.
Now you need to pop over to
Our Blog to check out our November
Guest - Cecile and my Talented Team Mates creations.
Then I hope you will play with us this week.
You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer in January 2017.
PS It can be any type of card as long as it has
just those 3 colours (with neutrals accepted)
Thanks so much for dropping in

Cecile' Ribon joining us - WELCOME.

I arrived home from my holidays (vacation)
to find a belated birthday gift from my very dear
crafty friend Maria in Germany.
Thank You soooo much!

called Timeless Textures. I so love this set
and I can see me using it lots.

Basic card stock from my stash and GKD
Several stamps from TT
SU ink - Rich Razzleberry/Garden Green
Tim Holtz Distress inks - Frayed Burlap/Antique Linen
Memento - New Sprout
Sentiment from Inspired by Stamping.
Dimension Squares.

What's the 'WORD' at Just Us Girls?

Once again it is 'Word Week' at
Just Us Girls and Sharyn is our Host
choosing LEAVES as 'The Word'

It's getting that time of the year over the pond called 'Fall'
and I am celebrating 'Spring' -
however to keep in line with the challenge
I have made my card using gilding flakes
in what I call 'Autumn' colours.
Now anyone that has used these flakes knows
the mess you can get yourself into -
gluing the shaped dies with the flakes
(don't breathe out)
and making sure you have covered them all.
I really did get messy with this card because
after I successfully glued flakes to my fingers
I cleaned them off just to get inky again
with my background.
Those leaves I think turned out beautifully
and needed a background to match.
Using a Memory Box stencil I painted it up
with Inka Gold using my fingers yes my fingers
to give it a little dimension.
I popped it up after it was dry also popping
those leaves from an old  Cuttlebug die.
Added some coloured cotton
and that very American sentiment from GKD
Finished with some gems.
***
I really did enjoy making this card -
after all what's fun if you
don't get a bit messy just sometimes.
***
Now pop over to Our Blog to admire
what our Guest for October - Jaydee
and the Team have made.
Join us and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
Guest Designer in December.
***
It so happens that over at
Mod Squad their challenge is Falling Leaves
so I am joining in the fun there with this card.
Details Here

Thanks for dropping in.

I'm 'Flying High'

It's 'WORD WEEK' over at Just Us Girls
and once again I am Hosting.
As this is the beginning of a new month we have a
New Guest Designer. Welcome Kathy.
You can check out her talent at
Stamps at Play.

When I chose the Word (which by the way is TRAVEL)
I had a specific type of card in mind.
After several attempts  I landed up going
in a completely different direction.
I rummaged through some of my stamps and came across
one that was totally perfect. It made me think of just
what I will be doing in the coming month.
I am excited as we will be flying over the other side of
Australia to spend time with our daughter
and teenage grand children.
We haven't seen them for a few years.

On with the products I used here -
Card Base is GKD Pure Luxury
Background DP - SU Going Places
Stamped image - Inspired by Stamping
(heat embossed)
Sentiment inside - Stamp It Australia
Stars and tiny circles are punched.
Pretty simple considering the time I spent
on trying to make my other card work for me.

Hope you will pop over to Our Blog
to see how our Guest Kathy Schweinfurth
and the Team were inspired.
Hope you can join us there.

Thanks for dropping in -

What's Under the Sea?

I had a lot of fun playing with some
old and new product for this challenge.
Hostess for our Word Week at Just Us Girls is Sharyn
choosing WATER.

Before I made my card I had played around with a few
water scenes which landed up in the bin.
This is when I decided to get out some inky messy items
to try my hand at something quite different.
As some of you know I recently spent time
with crafty friends at a Craft Show and this is where
I bought a few of the products I used here.
Gesso Paste
Gelatos
Texture Pastes
Sparkle Medium
White Embossing Enamel for the bubbles
Glossy Accents - water spots
Shells and cotton from my stash.

Now pop over to Our Blog to see what
our August Guest Colleen Foelker
and my talented Team Mates have created.
I hope you will have time to join us
this week.

Thanks for dropping in

Sun Sand and Surfin' in SUMMER!

What screams SUMMER?
Spending time at the Beach of course.
And this is the word that Maria chose
as Hostess for Word Week at Just Us Girls

So of course I went with the sand and surf for my card.

Now I did a bit of cheating here using a
pre coloured image from The Paper Shelter
 called Happy Times Beach Boy.
I went with the waive theme for my background
inking with Memento Potter's Clay
and is Memory Box Texture Waive.
Did a bit of distressing and layering.
Sentiment is from Paper Smooches
Branches at the bottom are also from Memory Box
and sponged again with Memento Potter's Clay.
Added some glossy Accents to the surfboard but too hard to see.
Welcome to Carol Mayne as our July Guest.
So nice to have you with us this month.
Hope you pop over to Our Blog
and check what everyone has made
using the word Summer.
 Thanks for dropping in

Hello! Birthday Girl

It's WORD WEEK at Just Us Girls
and Sharyn is Hosting choosing
BUTTERFLY for this weeks challenge.

Now don't we all LOVE them and have
countless stamps/dies to boot.
My beautiful butterfly stamp was given to me by a friend
who used to work at an op shop and would save items
she thought I would use so I do not know the maker (shame)
I heat embossed it in white and then went about getting messy
making my background using -
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
SU Rich Razzleberry &
Memento Potter's Clay.
I cut out a few Hello dies from Lawn Fawn
adhering it slightly off the paper for effect.
The Birthday Girl sentiment is heat embossed
and from Inspired by Stamping.
I spritzed the image with Iridescent Medium
but is only showing up lightly.
Finished with some scattered bling.
I really enjoy the emboss resist technique
and made that beautiful butterfly stamp pop.

Have you popped over to see what our
May Guest Designer - Aileen has made -
not to forget my amazingly talented
team Mates beautiful work?

I am sure you will want to participate in this challenge
so will be looking out to see I am sure a wide variety
of beautiful butterfly creation.
You could be the Chic of the Week and
be in the running as our next Guest.
Go for it and Craft On.

It's WORD WEEK at Just Us Girls

Sometimes just sometimes a Challenge Theme throws you
and this week it happened to me.
Lisa is our Hostess at Just Us Girls and she chose as her word
'RAINDROPS'
Now I don't have a single umbrella or any rain boots
in my little collection so I got my thinking cap on
and decided to make my own.

My first take on photographing my card didn't come out
very well as I think the dark background lost
my raindrops so went back and added more making them
a bit bigger. Even then some of the drops on the flowers
and greeting haven't shown up very well. Sigh!

Here is what I used  -
White card base
Grunge paper from Doodle Pantry
Sentiment Die - Nina's Things
Glossy Accents for the raindrops
SU Baja Breeze & Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
inked from  SU Morning Meadow
Kaisercraft pearls

Welcome to Angie Cimbalo as our April Guest.
Pop over to our blog and check out
all the Raindrops that have fallen over there.
Hope we have inspired you to create your
Raindrops creation and join us.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running for our
June Guest Designer.

Thanks for dropping in

Just for You!

It's that time of the month for our
Word Week at Just Us Girls
and Maria is our Hostess choosing
FLOWERS! as our word.

I saw the idea for my card from
DOstamping with Dawn Here
and knew one day I wanted to case it
especially as I had the same stamp -
Retired SU Lotus Blossom.
I just love that stamp as it has a 3step
stamp and there are so many colour combinations
you could use. Just need to play with it
and see what looks good.
I came up with Memento Potters Clay
Desert Sand & Teal Zeal on mine.
Other products are -
Embossing is by Darice
Spellbinders Circles
Sentiment - Inspired by Stamping
Ribbon - SU
and rhinestones.

A little of the inside.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to check out Stephanie Castro's inspiration -
our March Guest Designer
Welcome Stephanie
and the Design Team's amazing talents -
join us and you could be our Chic of the Week
and our May Guest.
Hope to see you there.
Cherrio from
