Just for You!

It's that time of the month for our
Word Week at Just Us Girls
and Maria is our Hostess choosing
FLOWERS! as our word.

I saw the idea for my card from
DOstamping with Dawn Here
and knew one day I wanted to case it
especially as I had the same stamp -
Retired SU Lotus Blossom.
I just love that stamp as it has a 3step
stamp and there are so many colour combinations
you could use. Just need to play with it
and see what looks good.
I came up with Memento Potters Clay
Desert Sand & Teal Zeal on mine.
Other products are -
Embossing is by Darice
Spellbinders Circles
Sentiment - Inspired by Stamping
Ribbon - SU
and rhinestones.

A little of the inside.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog

Welcome Stephanie
and the Design Team's amazing talents -

It's a Coloured Birthday Celebration

I found one of my favourite colour combinations over at
Colour Throwdown and just had to play.
Also at As You Like It their challenge is to
Make a card for your
Favourite Occasion and
Explain Why.
I think it is rewarding when you can make a
Birthday Card for someone special in your life
who is celebrating their Special Day.
So this time it is BIRTHDAY!
I am hoping to make another with my other favourite.
(not saying what it is)

In the process of making this card I had chosen
one of my favourite stamps for this challenge
but when I went to get a stencil
I went a totally different way.
I decided to get my bokeh stencil out and play with that
inking randomly with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
and SU Melon Mambo. They go so well together.
Funny how this technique isn't quite so popular
now as there are always new ones to try.
I used 2 other stencils in the background.
I am hoping I can finish the card I originally started
in time before the challenge ends.

I recently bought this Happy Birthday die and thought
it perfect to place in front using the 3rd colour.
It is from Nina's Things.
I decided to mute the colours by adding a sheet of
patterned vellum on top. Liked that it had circles in white
adding to the effect.
Finished off with coloured sequins.

So that's it for now.
I do have another card scheduled for later today
so you get a bonus with 2 postings....
Thanks for dropping by

Celebrate! It's Photo Week at JUGS

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls
and Hosting is Lisa who has chosen
rather a fitting photo as 2016 is
a Leap Year and all those who were born
on the 29th get to Celebrate their special day.

I looked at the photo and thought how easy was this?
Just some great flourishes and a date.
Well I was wrong. After a few attempts
and some paper being thrown in the bin
I went with this -

Not my favourite and not completely happy
with the end result but sometimes you just have
to say - It's not that bad after all...

I kept it cas as the photo is just that.
I used the following items -
White and coloured card stock
Scoring
Framed my flourish which is rightly named
Flourish from Kaisercraft.
inked with Memento Olive Grove (a little too dark )
Sentiment is IBS
Number 18 is from Cuttlebugs Hippie Chick Alphabet
Added some pearls to give my card a lift.

Thanks for dropping in and be sure to pop over
and see what has inspired our Guest Pamellia
and the Team.

Join us and you are in the running for
Chic of the Week and
may be chosen as our Guest for April.

I made it fairly cas as she is one that doesn't go
all over the top fancy with her cards.

I used the following products on my card -
Basic card stock Doily

from Gina K Designs
Sentiment (perfect for my friend) is from
Lily of the Valley and given to me by her
so it is pretty special.

and a few rhinestones.

what my Team Mates created

Sending Best Wishes

Once again I am playing with paper over at
Always Playing with Paper -  this time for their current
Colour Challenge.

Here is what I came up with
with these gorgeous colours below.

A favourite stamp set of mine
for the flower is from
SU - Lotus Blossom because it is a
3 step stamps and can use so many different colours.
This time I just used the 2 -
Memento Love Letter & Versa Color Old Rose.
I used basic coloured card stock in pink grey
& white with water colour paper.
The background speckles are Tim Holtz
in Memento London fog. The stem is also this colour.
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping
Corner rounded and popped my image
and finished with some rhinestones.

Hope you like my cas card. Love to read your comments.
Till next time Cherrio from

V is for 'Vegemite'

Over at Just Add Ink the current challenge is to
create a project with the letter V
Details are Here

Now you may ask where my V is?
When I read the post the first thing that stood out was
VEGEMITE! What's this you say?
It is a yeast extract that us Aussie's love to put on toast.
My favourite is to add avocado with it - yum!
Now I know a lot of people can't stand the strong taste
but I spread it lightly not like my hubby who
smothers his toast with it.
Image result for photo of vegemite

The next thing that came to mind was the word
VACATION so I got out one of my favourite
SU sets called Feeling Sentimental and the
phone booth reminds me of the red British ones
so what better stamp to use when you are
over the other side of the world
on VACATION without your VEGEMITE?
The colours I used are part of the theme -
you see Vegemite comes in a jar or tube is
brown in colour and yellow is on the jar so I used
SU Yo Yo Yellow & Close to Cocoa.

Other products used are -
Background are stencils from
Tim Holtz - Speckles
Clear Scraps - Chevrons
Sentiment - Gina K Designs Country Roads
I picked this to go with the strip behind the
yellow cotton - I need my VEGEMITE
typed up on my laptop.
Did some distressing to match the stamped image
and finished with a tiny button tied with some
more yellow cotton.

Sorry this is a long posting but needed to
explain a little about our Vegemite.

My card certainly isn't what most people would be thinking
with the chosen letter - but I sure had fun with it.

Thanks for dropping in.

Tag it for TREND Week at JUGS.

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and I am Hosting.

I like to add dimension on most of my cards
and my thoughts went to 'Add a Tag'
so that is what I went with.

I had done a card similar a long time ago and decided
I would make another in the same layout.
I like the idea of the corrugated cardboard behind the tag
so used that as my starting point.
My card base is kraft and topped with cream paper
to match my postage tag.
Here are the other products I used -
Background is SU Beyond the Basics
Butterfly/floral stamped image is unknown
as a friend gave it to me.
She also made the crochet flower.
Crochet cotton, pearls
and another brad (doing well with them lately)
Inks are -  Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers
Abandoned Coral & Vintage Photo
Memento Teal Zeal
Sentiment is Inspired by Stamping.
Foam squares for more dimension.

Hop over to Our Blog to see what the Jugheads created
and Pamellia's Blog Here to see her beautiful work
as she is our February Guest.
You could be our April Guest just by

Another card for Always Playing with Paper #59

The current challenge over at
Always Playing with Paper is running for 2 weeks
so I got to create another card for their great Sketch.

I decided to get some Kraft paper out and
emboss my images in white and clear embossing powder
(for the background)
The stamp set I used is SU - Morning Meadow
Sentiment is also from that set.
I popped it for dimension punched the corner with a
Fiskars punch twice adding the white from the holes for effect.
Finished with gold pearls and a tiny butterfly by SU.

Thanks for popping in.

A RRRUFF day.

I just had to play with the current challenge at
The Paper Players which is Raining Cats & Dogs
for a few reasons.
My sister has had a bad fall and is in hospital
hence a Get Well card but with a difference.

Now we both love 'Scottie Dogs' being Scots ourselves.
and
I have been itching to use this Scottie dog die
(Marianne Die LR0039) as my hubby
bought it for me for Christmas.
I have had the sentiment which belongs to
Inkadinkado for quite some time
and thought it a perfect
cheer me up for my card.
I know there will be quite a few 'ruff days'
when she gets out of hospital.
I used basic black/white & red card stock
some tartan paper on the side his collar
and a few small hearts.
Paper pierced around the edges
foam squares for dimension
a few bones inked from the die
and there it is finished.
Oh and I added a white dot for the eye and nose.

Thanks for dropping in

It's all about LOVE.

It's getting to that time of year when
Love is in the Air
so what better excuse is there to make a card
to say 'I Love You'
for our latest challenge at Crafty Cardmakers
and Hosting is Julie.

This was a simple card to make
and here are the products I used -
Black Silver and Red card stock/paper
Love Die is from Kaisercraft Decorative Die
Flourish - Memory Box Loveland Corner
The hearts in the Love triangle are
the cut outs from the flourish.
The tiny heart punch is Sullivans
and stamped from a SU stamp
Finish off with some rhinestones.

Don't forget to pop over to our blog
to see what the other Designers have created.
I am sure you will want to play with this challenge.

See you there!

Sketch Time at Always Playing with Paper

Here I am finally able to play with paper again
having had an extremely busy few weeks with
Doctor's Appointments and procedure for hubby who is now
home and in recovery mode - which means I do most
of the heavy work around the house for the next 6 weeks.
***
I couldn't wait to play with the current sketch challenge over at

I decided I would flip my card around and go from there.
I loved the idea of the circles on the sketch below
hence I got out my circle stencil
and gave my background the bokeh technique.
using Memento Lulu Lavendar and Sweet Plum.
The leaves, tiny stamped flowers and sentiment are from
Gina K Designs Stippled Nature.
Memento Pistachio for the leaves and
SU Rich Razzleberry on the flowers.
My bigger flowers are also from SU
Flower Shop and Petite Petals.
They go so well together.
Did a little spritzing and finishing off with
popping the flowers and adding pearls to the centres
and liquid pearls to the tiny flowers.
Used basic card stock and rounded off the corner.
Oh and of course I used my favourite colour - purple.
***
Below is the sketch to follow.

I really enjoyed this challenge and look forward to seeing
next weeks Colour Challenge - one of my favourites.

Thanks for dropping in.
