You 'ROCK'

I'm Rockin' it for our latest challenge over at
and we are looking for Something Musical.

Because Hubby is an avid guitar player/collector
that was my obvious choice.

Here's a close up!

Background is with Tim's Oxide Inks,
a little bit of  crackled stenciling, a few black splatters
and some music notes.
Die cut a circle to place the guitar on
using the same inks as the background,
adding glossy gel medium, touches of inking, nuvo drops
and glued to a white one for shadowing then popped.
Added appropriate sentiment and onto black paper,
finishing with white card base.
The Sistah's have made amazing musical makes
so pop over and check them out then
come join us by adding yours to our Gallery.

Till next time -

Hello Sweet Friend

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and Hosting is Vicki
with such lovely colour tones for us to work with.

Here's a closer look!

fall table

Once again I made this card quite a long time ago
just for the fun of using new dies.
Worked out perfectly for this weeks challenge.
Thanks Vicki!

I love kraft card stock and aqua blend together nicely.
I used metallic card stock for all the dies.
Added an extra die cut head to the big flower,
a thin frame, a few pearls and a
tiny sentiment to finish.
I loved how quick and easy this card came together.
Don't forget to check out how our Guest Rachel
and the Team were inspired by that lovely photo.
It's just 'that little bit different'
Hope you are inspired and join in
by adding to our Gallery.
Till next time -

A Twofer for Just Us Girls

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Hosting is Elizabeth
and choosing the Mini Slimline Trend Challenge was
the very talented former Jugs Designer Angie -
Queen of the Slimline Creations.

I landed up making two very different cards

The first card is my favourite background in pastel colours,
heat embossing the In Bloom Plumerias from STAMPlorations
with Nuvo Gold Enchantment EP.
Sentiment is STAMPlorations Fond Expression 2
attached to a strip of yellow onto pretty pink card base.
Second card has me using some of my newish dies again
in red and black backed with embossed dp
framed in red and attached to grey card base.
Added a bit of red cotton and grey die cut sentiment.
They were so fun to make. Now it is your turn to
make a mini slimline card and add to our Gallery.
Hope to see you there after you have been inspired by
our November Guest Rachel and the Teams make.
Thanks for dropping in

A Remembrance Day Thank You

It's time for our New Challenge over at
Sistah Birgit has chosen the theme
Give Thanks
Tomorrow is Remembrance Day here in Australia.
The day is dedicated to Australians who died as a result of war.
My card for this challenge is
In Remembrance and to Give Thanks

here's a close up of the poppies

I love inking up the Rubbernecker stamps as
you can get a nice artsy look.
I used their Watercolour Poppies using a
water brush with Lindy's Cuckoo Clock Cardinal
and Cathedral Pines, Brusho's Brilliant Red and
Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder.
Added a touch of Perfect Pearls in Forever Red.
Uniball white pen touched up in the centres
and flicked some splatters.
The poppies were heat embossed with Ranger Black.
A little bit of scoring and SU Lotus Blossom sentiment
heat embossed.
Attached to a black background onto white card base.
Pop over and see what my Sistahs made.
Love to see your Give Thanks cards in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in

A Fun Fold Card for Someone Special

It's time for our New Challenge at
and this month we are looking for

I love making Christmas cards with my
Spellbinders Poinsettia Dies and for our
Fun Fold Challenge this is what I chose -
and found an old Cottage Craft one I thought
would be a nice backing piece.
Going for a simple twisted easel card
as they lay flat and easy for posting.

I wanted something different to stand out for my big leaves
and gilding flakes came to mind.

There is a lot going on with this card
mainly with lots and lots of die cutting from
Spellbinders and Cottage Craft for the Poinsettias.
Tim's Holiday Greens and a few Kaisercraft leaves.
Blue card stock has been stenciled with transparent texture paste.
Iridescent paper for the dies, Iridescent Medium on poinsetia.
Nuvo Sparkle Dust in red, Zing Metallic Silver EP,
Spellbinder Label, Inspired by Stamping Sentiment,
Liquid Pearls dusted with Sparkle Dust.
I think that's it.
Whew that was mammoth!
Pop over and see what fun fold the rest of the Team created.
We would love to see yours in our Gallery.
Cherrio for now

Celebrate the Season

'tis getting really close to Christmas isn't it and
How are you doing with creating your Christmas Cards?
Lucky for me I have been able to build up my supplies this year.
My card today is for the New Challenge over at

The beautiful Christmas Poinsettia stamp from
STAMPlorations came out to play on this card.
I chose to go with cool blue-ish tones,
heat embossed in navy
and colouring with Lindy's Magicals,
some iridescent medium and perfect pearls for shimmer.
Fussy cut and popped on to weathergrain paper
and navy card base.
Added liquid pearls and some fine glitter
to the centre of the flower while still wet.
Finished with a few gems.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and hope to see you in our Gallery.
Thanks for coming by.

The WORD is MERRY!

'tis getting close to Christmas and
Hosting this weeks Word Challenge at
 Just Us Girls is Nancy
choosing an oh so perfect! one for us.
It's our first Challenge for November and we
Welcome our November Guest Rachel Davis.

Christmas and Tartan are a go too for me
(of course) and this was the perfect way to show it off.
I attached the paper to gold paper then
cut out a smaller frame, attached
a bit of Tim's Greenery, some bells and ball,
gold thread and the CUTplorations Merry Christmas die
 in the same gold paper.
A nice simple card in very traditional colours -
but so so hard to get a crisp photo with that gold shine.
After umteen attempts this looked the best.

Pop over and see what our
November Guest Rachel Davis
and the Team created and add your
Merry card to our Gallery.
Thanks for coming by.
Love reading your comments.

You're only 50 Once!

Hello and welcome to todays post for
and it's a pretty special one.
My son in law turns 50 soon
so I went all out and made him an 8x10 canvas.

As you can see he is a car buff; likes to
restore old cars and this one in particular has had
so much work done on it, tinkering to no end
and it is a credit to him the time (A LOT) he has spent
getting it to where it is today.
The need for speed has taken him to try drag racing
and has been quite successful doing so.
Anyway enough of that -
there is so much going on here so I will
fill you in as best I can with products used and
some photos along the long road.

Started my canvas with gesso and stenciled.

Adding some grid chipboard to the sides and
lots of texture and colours with
Distress Grit Paste, Sand Paste,
Lindy's Magical's and Brusho's.
Adding dry wall tape, postage tags,
metal embellishments from my stash,
chipboard numbers.
Working out what to use
and went with this
If you look closely you can see a dymo cut 1965
(the year the Ford was made)
Car photo here is just on photo paper as a guide.
Have added Art Alchemy, Cosmic Shimmer
and Imagination Crafts Startlight to various items
including the chipboard 50. Tim's Quotations
I thought suitable for the project. I added
acetate to the front of the photo after I smudged
one and scratched another. Adhered with
appropriate brads and embellishments.

Here's another photo of my finished canvas
a little bit lighter in colour!

A time consuming creations but so fun to see it
come together so well. Hoping he likes it!
It's on it's way for the Birthday Boys 50th
on our Remembrance Day - November 11th.

Hope you enjoy looking at all the bits and bobs
I added here. Love reading your comments.
Don't foget to drop in to Our Blog
to see what my Talented Team Mates created
for your pleasure this month and
Please come join in and have a bit of fun
creating what you love doing best.

This is heading over to More Mixed Media Challenge
Got that covered with the black car!

Thanks and till next time - Cherrio

Bizzy Becs Store Blogspot. which is Australian Based.
There is  a Monthly Anything Goes Challenge
and a Prize for our Winner kindly donated by the Store.
Here is my first card

Those that know me are aware that I love
making smoochy backgrounds.
For this card I used Tim's Oxide Inks in
Kitsch Flamingo (Out of Stock)
but can be pre ordered at Bizzy Becs Store
(love these newish colours)
I then used Tim's Wildflower Stencil as a
background with white crackle paste.
Wildflower Stamps and Dies were added
using the same colours as above including Peacock Feathers.
These are always popular and you can email Bec
to see if she can get them for you.
Touched some of them up with Lindy's Spray and
Nuvo Shimmer Powder.

'Relax' for Wild Card Week at JUGS

Bobby is Hosting this week at Just Us Girls
and it is our Wild Card Challenge.

It's that time of year that you see
the most beautiful leaves change colours -
just not where I live though. Spring has sprung
and we are getting 'new life'.
I decided  I would use some orange retired SU Designer Paper
to go with the leaves in the photo covering fully
 to my white card base.
The white backing for my die cut leaves
was split on an angle letting them peak out
in all directions. I love orange and black together
and think my arrangement blends in nicely.
Finished with some black pearls and sentiment.
Which road will you take when you
add your card to our Gallery?
Autumn tones or something completely different like mine.
Don't forget to check out what our Guest Nora
and the Team created for your pleasure.

On a sad note we bid farewell to Angie
as this is her last post as part of the Team -
but we know we will still see her
amazing talent on Blogland.
Thank You so much Angie for all the inspiration
and encouragement you have given us.
We were blessed to have you on our Team.
Also a big Thank You to Nora for being a
fabulous Guest with us this month.
We loved having you and sharing your
talent with us.

It's a Beautiful Day

Welcome to todays post for The Sisterhood of Crafters
and our Latest Challenge.
Sistah Debbie has chosen the theme - Wreath

I must admit it took me an age to come up with something
as I didn't want to have the common circle one.
I used Thinlits 664377 Geo Frame and added
lots of coloured leaves around the die cut frame.
I then finished it off with SU Botanical Blooms
die cut flowers coloured with Lindy's Magical's.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations
 cut from MFT circle die.
Added pearls to the flower centres to finish.
Attached to white card base.
Pop over and see what my Sistah's created
and we would love to see your Wreath cards
in our Gallery Here.
Thanks for droppin in and leaving a comment.
