Added a sentiment from Gina K and some dewdrops to finish.

A fairly easy one again this week.

It's Spring Time at The Outlawz

Over at The Outlawz for the month of September we have
the most amazingly generous sponsor

The Design Team for the Colour Challenges
got to pick which digi's they would like to use.
So each week in September I will show you what I made.

This was the perfect month for us in Australia
as it is SPRING and that means FLOWERS.

This is the photo and colour combination chosen by
Laurian
Each week is different and so too our Twist.
This week it is to add something with Wings.

Here is my first creation for September.

I used 3 different coloured card stock to match my image.
I pierced the pricking pattern around the framed rose which is
a pre coloured one. I just added a little colour to the edges.
The beautiful rose and the pricking pattern
is from the Diamond Rose Set
and the butterfly from the Marigold & Morpho Set
I was really pleased how this card finished up thanks to
the beautiful images in my favourite colour from Fred She Said.

Hope you liked my card and you will come back
next week to see the next colour challenge card.

Perfect for me to enter into this challenge.

Here is what I made

The piano keys are from a die cut and attached
to the piano shaped black card stock.
Added cut out flowers with a little bling
a few leaves ribbon and scattered pearls.
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge #85 is Anything Goes

Our new challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids
 is the ever popular one

ANYTHING GOES.

For this challenge I used a digi from one of our generous sponsors
This card was easy to make by just adding some embossing
twine and cut out fishes attached to some net and
the little guy going fishin'

Good to see he caught a few lol

For my second card my digi came from another generous sponsor
I'm afraid I didn't do justice to this digi with my colouring of
the border collie but I just loved the cute expression
on his face and thought the Love You sentiment was perfect
especially as he is sitting behind the fence.
Was he left behind or did he get up to some mischief?
I again embossed the background and added layers
a little strip of tartan ribbon
Stamped some paws for effect and punched out
2 heart shapes for the sentiment.
Finished with a few black pearls.

Our sponsor's for the Winners are

Dollar Graphics - $15 Gift Certificate
Oak Pond Creations - 3 Digi's of the Winner's choice
Fred She Said - $10 Gift Certificate

Thank You to Our Generous Sponsors.

Please check out the other blogs from
TEAM SAS to see their great work.

Till next time - Cherrio from

Send a Smile for Kids CAS Challenge #84

It's time for another challenge over at
Send a Smile 4 Kids
and it is CAS (Clean and Simple)

I am one that struggles sometimes with just 'simple'
We tend to want to keep adding so here they are.
My first card was fairly simple to make.
I used layers of white card stock and scored the back one
and deciding not to pop them.
Punched the bottom with a MS punch
The lovely digi I coloured is from
DRS Designs called Leaf Butterfly Spray.
I picked this design so I could make
this card suitable for giving to an Adult as maybe a
'Note of Thanks'
Added a colourful ribbon and a few rhinestones to finish.

Here is a really simple digi from A Day for Daisies
I decided she needed to be surrounded by flowers.
The DP's are from American Crafts
Punch for ribbon is Stampin' Up
I used various punches from
Carl and Martha Stewart for the flowers
The background on the digi is stamped from
SU Beyond the Basics
Fussy cut the sweet little girls dress.
Added Liquid Pearls and Startdust Stickles
in the centre of the flowers.

Our sponsor's prizes for the Winners are

A Day for Daisies - $12 gift certificate
DSR Designs - $10 gift certificate
Kitchen Sink Stamps - $25  gift certificate

Don't forget to pop over to the other Designer sfrom
Team SAS to see their lovely cards.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time

I was Inspired by a Song for Challenge #75 over at The Squirrel & the Fox

I found a great challenge that suited me down to the ground.
It is over at The Squirrel & the Fox
and their challenge is to make a card
inspired by a song or movie
Details are HERE

For this challenge I decided the
beautiful Thistle Image
needed to stand out hence it is cas card.

With the Commonwealth Games being held over in
Glasgow Scotland my first thoughts went back to
seeing Team Scotland march to their
National Anthem - THE FLOWER OF SCOTLAND.

Being born in Scotland I love Thistles even though it is a weed
and of course those Scottie Dogs.
How awesome it was to see them take centre stage
as the athletes marched in to the arena.

I have used basic card stock colours for the base and matting
Tartan paper is from a friend who just happens to live in Glasgow.
I cannot remember where this thistle image is from
so cannot give credit to (sorry)
Used a MS punch, own ribbon
and the Scottie Dog was given to me by my sister.
Sentiment is from Just believe by SU.

I really enjoyed making this card because of the
 beautiful thistle image
and just listening to the bagpipes ringing out the
music of  'The Flower of Scotland'

Thanks to the team at The Squirrel & the Fox
for this challenge and giving me the reason
to make this card and remind me of my Homeland.

A Bit of Bling over at The House that Stamps Built

I love creating cards with Bling so of course
I had to play with the latest challenge over at
It is Designer's Choice (DCC730)
and my friend Karen is hosting.

Our challenge is to add 'Sparkle Glitter or Bling'.

I have used one of my favourite RI Stamps Tulip Bouquet - 912K.
I  love this stamp because there is so much detail
that it doesn't need colouring.
I used black and white card stock
Designer Paper is from Kaisercraft
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on black card stock
SU border punch with maroon card stock
Row of bling
Also bling on the centres of the flowers
and added a touch of shine with a gel pen
Finished with a bow using own ribbon.

Another quick post so that is it for now.

It's Christmas - oh in JULY that is for Challenge #83 at Send a Smile 4 Kids.

Funny how time flies! Hard to believe we are on the downhill run to
CHRISTMAS!
===
Sorry if I scared you into thinking it was December and not July
but I really enjoy making a few early ones and it is a nice change
from what we do the rest of the year.
Also it is so busy by December
it is good to have a few up your sleeve in ready.
===
Now that you are relaxed I will fill you in on our challenge over at

It is as you have guessed
CHRISTMAS IN JULY... for KIDS

This adorable little girl is from Whoopsie Daisy
and is a pre coloured one (my favourite kind)
which made this card so easy to make.
I used red card stock and the backing papers were
a freebie from a magazine - lucky me.
The white card stock is embossed with a Cuttlebug Folder
I cut out the image from Spellbinder Ovals
The snowflakes I inked to match.
Added a bit of shimmer with Iridescent Medium
and the candle with a gold gel pen.

Here I have used basic white card stock
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Scrapbook Christmas Paper and from Doodle Panty
My Stately Nutcracker Image (popped) is from
Doodle Pantry again a pre coloured image -
I am so lucky this month with being supplied with
2 pre coloured images from our generous sponsors.
The large snowflake is cut from Jac Paper from a
Cuttlebug die and  glittered.
Finished with a button, twine and sentiment from Gina K Designs.

Our Generous Sponsors are
Whoopsie Daisy - 2 Sheets of winners choice
Doodle Pantry - $10 gift certificate
Sassy Studio Designs - 4 images of winners choice

A Trend and Colour Challenge.

I have made a card for 2 challenges
They are for the

For the Jugs Challenge we are to use Woodgrain.

I recently bought the Hexagon die from Stampin' Up
and have been itching to try it out.
I saw a card recently that had embossing on it
so I used Tim Holtz wood grain textile embossing folder
but unfortunately it isn't as noticeable as I liked so inked it
so it stood out a little better.

For the second challenge at the Paper Players
 it is a Colour Challenge

I got out my favourite Stampin' Up stamp set
Vintage Vogue as I knew it would be perfect
to attach to the popped cut out die.
I started off with white card stock and followed up by randomly
stamping the flowers and leaves from this set in the colours
to match the above.
I used Rich Razzleberry from SU
and various coloured Memento and Tim Holtz distress inks
on the background.
I fussy cut the flowers popped them after distressing them
 to give them depth.
Added some Kaisercraft pearls to the centres
and a sentiment from GinaK Designs
cut from Spellbinders Circles.

So that is it for me for now.
Thank you for stopping by and till next time

JUGS Challenge #249 Trend - Woodgrain

I have been playing with a stamp set I purchased recently
called Feeling Sentimental from Stampin' Up
and saw the new Challenge over at JUGS HERE
and thought I could use one of the stamps
for this wood grain challenge.
It is a CAS card and one you could make into a gift pack.
I also thought this card suitable for the current challenge at
 Their Challenge #21  is Vacation/Travel.
Now this image reminds me of my trip to Great Britain
with my sister where we saw and experienced
 the London Wheel.

I used brown red and white card stock
Image and sentiment from Feeling Sentimental by SU
Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder inked with
Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap
Sentiment is inked in Tim Holtz Festive Berries
Image is popped and distressed.
Cotton trim brad and red twine.

And there you have it...

I'm off to play with this stamp set some more.

Thanks for stopping by so
Cherrio till next time

It's CAS over at Crafting with Dragonflies

Over at Crafting with Dragonflies the Lovely Ladies have a
CAS CHALLENGE.

Since I got back from my holiday I have been busy on DT duties.
Now that I have got that under control I thought this challenge
a perfect time for ME.
I recently purchased a retired SU stamp and wanted to play with it
and this was the perfect opportunity.

For this card I used white and black card stock
SU - Feeling Sentimental and popped it.
Dark Room Door - French Script and Postcard stamps
Viva Decor - Crown Lion Wings stamp
Own ribbon and button.

I love this SU stamp set and am thinking of making a set
to give to my sister as a birthday gift as it reminds me
of our holiday together in Great Britain.

As the challenge says - CAS and there it is.

I would also like to enter this in the

Challenge #82 - Bright Colours for Kids at SAS4Kids

It seems like an age since I have been here blogging
as I have been spending the most wonderful time away from home
with my family celebrating a wedding and a birthday ...

but now it is back to normal and I am now
  in my craft room again.

So it is again time for a NEW CHALLENGE over at

Kids cards are always full of colour and this is exactly what this challenge is all about.
BRIGHT COLOURS FOR KIDS

Here is my BOY card.
I used AKV Construction from our generous sponsor

I used the perfect housing background paper
from American Crafts.
Fussy cut the little houses to add beside my construction man.
Don't you just love him?
I also used hessian (burlap)
a small piece of scrap paper with bricks for him to stand on
and brads to finish this off.

And now it is the GIRLS turn.

What little girl doesn't like ICE CREAM?
I used bright coloured card stock to match the
 pre coloured background from
another of our generous sponsor's
The Paper Shelter and is popped for a 3d effect.
Cut an extra striped banner and ice cream and popped them.
Dimensional Magic for shine, glitter on the cones and a sprinkling
underneath the cute little girl. I think her ice cream was melting lol
The first background paper fitted the picture and
I added a few stars  and sentiment to finish.

Our generous sponsors for this challenge are -
Bugaboo Stamps - 7  digi's of winners choice
The Paper Shelter - $20 gift certificate
QKR Stampede - 5 digi's of winners choice

Our challenge this time round for Send a Smile 4 Kids
is to make a card/cards with Animals.

I thought the perfect digi to use on this card from
Oak Pond Creations would be the gorgeous Love Kitty.
I was also really excited when I saw a favourite store of mine
was one of the generous sponsors for this challenge
and the accessories would work in beautifully together.
My niece is a cat lover and this card will be
purring it's way to her for her Birthday.
I will just have to add lots of padding so not to damage the flowers.

White card stock

Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Ovals/Small Ovals/Labels 8/Flourish
Kaisercraft Pearls

A touch of Kindy Glitz on the Love Kitty

***

My second card is certainly a fabulous set
with so many different fabulous elements to choose from.

as you can see from below

I used aqua white  & orange card stock

Various Distress Inks
