A 'Snowflake or Three'

 It's Trend Week at
Just Us Girls and Hosting is
BOBBY choosing METALLICS!

Now with Christmas - yes Christmas
just around the corner I really need to
get my act together and start on them.
Hence this is the way I went for this weeks Challenge.

I found this fabulous dotty paper in my stash that
I know I bought years ago and thought it a
perfect background for my snowflakes.
I got out my 'old faithful' Cuttlebug snowflake die
and Spellbinders Create a Flake 4 die and cut them out
from gold and white glittery paper.
Added a gold frame then popped my snowflakes.
My sentiment is from Stampin' Up and heat embossed.
Finished with some pearls and a button from my stash.

Pop over to our Blog and see more magnificent metallics
from our November Guest Cecile' and the Team.
You won't be disappointed.
Come join us and you could be our Chic of the Week
and be a future Guest Designer.

Thanks for dropping in.
Love reading your comments.

It's a CASimple Christmas Card.

I am right into Christmas card making at present

and it is always a time when you need some

CAS cards to post to friends.

Once again I am playing over at

Addicted to Stamps & More

and this time for their

You can find the details Here

Here are the products I used -

Kraft card stock

I randomly stamped snowflakes

from SU on the background

with sparkle embossing powder and

the main snowflake in white.

The sentiment is also from SU.

This was popped for dimension and

cut using a stitched die.

Finished off with an aqua sparklet for colour.

Thanks for dropping in

Love reading your comments.

A Merry & Bright Christmas Card.

I love playing with bright colours and was doing so

when I found the Daring Cardmakers Blog

with this amazing Inspiration Photo.

Details - Here

Now who would not want to play with this beauty!

As part of the challenge you have to pick

3 elements for your creation. I chose

Colours including Gold Detail the tree and ribbon.

I started off with basic coloured card stock.

For my main background I chose water colour paper

inking it up with Tim Holtz Distress Inks -

Wilted Violet/Mermaid lagoon

and Inka Gold which were spritzed

and added randomly.

This was also spritzed with SU Champagne Mist

Added a few touches of Inka Gold

to my card base to add interest.

Sentiment is from GKD and cut from a Kaisercraft die.

This also is spritzed and finished with ribbon.

My circle is a stitched die from MFT

and attached my Christmas tree from Nina's Things cut

from scrap DP and heat embossed twice with clear powder.

Finished off with some sequins and a tiny pearl.

I also saw that Happy Little Stampers

November Christmas Challenge is Watercolour - yay!

so I am popping this card over there too.

You can find the details Here.

Thanks so much for dropping in.

Love reading your comments.

It's a 'Sketch' at Water Cooler Wednesday

For some reason I find sketches hard to get my head around so

I decided to get out of my comfort zone and play at

Watercooler Wednesday for their sketch challenge Here

Looks easy enough but I got carried away

with my watercolour background using various

distress inks and a bit of bubble wrap.

I then had to go searching for paper to back my image.

Rummaged through my scraps and found some - phew!

My flower is from Marianne Designs

Sentiment - 49 and Market

Gems from my stash

Foam Squares and scoring.

- and there you have it.

Thanks so much for dropping in.

I really appreciate your comments.

Going for 'GOLD' at The Mod Squad.

I have got the Christmas bug at present and I know

I need to get cracking so I decided to go for Gold

again over at The Mod Squad for their current challenge.

Details Here

I found that beautiful Heirloom Ornament

amongst my Christmas stamps from Gina K Designs

and knew it would look amazing in Gold.

My card base is a metallic gold paper.

To back my ornament I went with

Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Stencil

using Texture Paste for depth.

I then added a red frame to highlight

the Christmas Sentiment which is also

from GKD and heat embossed on vellum.

Added my own ribbon and a few pearls to finish.

That's another Christmas Card done - but so many more to do
but before I go I will pop over to

Addicted to Stamps and add it to their
Challenge #218 Holiday Challenge

Thanks for dropping in.

Hope you like what you see and leave me a comment.

I love reading your thoughts.

For my Tic Tac Toe

I chose the top column - red/glitter/snowflakes.

This is my first Christmas card this year.

I can't believe I have left it soooooo late - again.

I got my Christmas container out yesterday to make this card

and I am always surprised at what is in there.

My card base is sculptured pearlescent paper

and red card stock is also pearlescent paper.

I attached score tape to the 3 strips of  paper

and added glitter - of course you know how it is with

that it sticks everywhere.

My snowflake is from Spellbinders and glittered also.

Frame is embossed with SU framelits -  hand cut.

 Sentiment from Gina K Designs.

Both are popped.

Finished with some gems.

An 'Explosion of Colour'

Josephine is Hosting our

EXPLOSION OF COLOUR CHALLENGE

over at Crafty Cardmakers

As you can see I did exactly as she asked.

I used so many mediums here -

paints inks stencils texture paste glitter

stamps embossing

for my explosion of colour.

You can see the shimmer here.

I used new dies that are a little different from

the normal stitched ones. You cut with one

and the other is  stitches so you can choose

the distance between cut and stitch.

My big sentiment is also a new one I thought

would make a good feature.

They are both from Nina's Things

***

Hope you will be able to join us for this challenge.

Pop over and see what colourful creations the Team created.

It doesn't have to be a card but make sure it doesn't

exceed the Total 15 challenges (including ours).

Thanks for dropping in

It's a BIG BOLD SENTIMENT.

Big Bold Sentiments are all the rage at present

and Maria is hosting at Just Us Girls

for our WILD CARD WEEK!

focusing in on just that.

This was an easy card to make - the hardest
part was picking which scrap pieces of colour to use.
My white card base is embossed with
We R memory keepers Geometric
which is very hard to see.
This was then popped with a stitched white
piece of card stock and then popped again
with my sentiments by MFT - Simply Fab Saying
(how perfect for this challenge)
They were heat embossed in white.
Finished touches with some
tiny punched hearts & pearls.

Here is a quick card I made with a
big sentiment from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

Pop over to Our Blog and see
  lots more BOLD SENTIMENTS.
We'd love to see yours too.
Join us and you could be our Chic of the Week
and go on to be Guest Designer for December.

Thanks for dropping in.

What's up Pussy Cat?

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

and Chris has chosen this photo for Inspiration.

Now when I first saw this I was horrified.

What can I make with this? I love the photo

and that BLACK CAT - just didn't have anything suitable

so I went to trusty Google and found an image.

Yikes I had to try and colour

that pumpkin! Well I did manage to

colour it of sorts using water colour pencils

blending and a few distress pens.

I even went over it with Wink of Stella.

The black cat has been covered with Glossy Accents.

The background DP is from K & Company.

Added some burlap (hessian to me) from the cheap shop.

Button from my stash and tied with a bit of the burlap

that fell off the side.

The sentiment is computer generated.

Don't know if it is the right one but as I am

not into Halloween I took a gamble.

This certainly was challenging (and that is what they are all about)

to start with but after I got going

I am happy how my card turned out.

***

Now I know my Team Mates will have some

awesome creations -  so too our October Guest - Jaydee.

Pop over and check them out -

'tis the season for all things pumpkin related

so there is no excuse for not joining us this week.

You could be our Chic of the Week and in the

running for Guest Designer in December.

I am entering this card over at The House for their
Inspiration Challenge - Details Here

'Aloha'

It's TREND week over at Just Us Girls

and Hostess this week is Sue and chosen Pineapples

Well this threw me as I have nothing relating to them.

How excited I was when I went to my monthly

girls day out card making and our Demonstrator Tania

had chosen a card with just that.

Thanks Tania - you saved the day. All credits to you.

I didn't finish my card that day

but came home and added some splatters from a

Tim Holtz stencil. Also added a few strips

of paper under the pineapple.

Card stock is SU and has been stamped on the edges with the

pineapple stamp which is part of the

set Pop of Paradise from SU

My sentiment is from Gina K.

Now pop over to Our Blog

and check out what our October Guest Jaydee

and my Team Mates created.

Falling 'Autumn Leaves'

I just couldn't help myself making another

'Autumn Card' even though it is Spring here.

This time my card is more the 'Autumn Colours'

I got out the Memory Box stencil - Texture Distressed Grid

and added dimension with white texture pastes.

I love the old Cuttlebug leaf dies I have had for ages

and that is what I turned to for my card.

After blending distress inks and adding

a few speckles from  TH Speckles Stencil on to

water colour paper.  I cut the leaves

and heat embossed them with clear powder.
Scored them to add veins but very hard to see.

The branch is from Memory Box - Woodland Branch.

Sentiment is from MFT - Simply Fab Sayings.

This card is again for the 'New Blog in Town'

CAS Watercolour Blog
