Going to the 'Dogs'

We are going to the 'dogs' for our Word Week with
Lisa  as Hostess at Just Us Girls

This is a new month and we have our February Guest
Michele Greenwood with us. Welcome!
***
I thought my Scottie Dog from Marianne Designs
was a good choice - a chance to make a male card again.
Of course I had to match it up with Tartan DP
(which by the way came all the way from Scotland)
This was a really easy cas card.
Starting with basic card colours
I added my tartan dp cut with a stitched die
cutting my dog out of black card stock
and mounted him on Spellbinder circle dies.
Sentiment is SU cut from a JustRite die.
That's it!

Hope you will pop over and check out what our
February Guest Michele Greenwood
and my Talented Team Mates created.
Hope you find time to play this week and
look forward to seeing over at Just Us Girls

# Update - Going to pop this over to
Addicted to CAS for their Pets Challenge

Thanks for dropping in. Love reading your comments.

It's a Vintage/Shabby Chic/Distress with Hearts & Flowers kinda card

Hello to my Blogger Friends. I have a nice surprise for you today.
How long has it been since you saw a vintage card from me?
You can't remember can you - neither can I.
There are 2 challenges I am sending my card to  this week -
Shopping our Stash for their Day of Yore which means
Vintage/Shabby Chic/Distress. Another favourite of mine -
just don't do them often enough
and The Mod Squad for their Hearts & Flowers

(I do have a Heart here)

Here are the products I used -
Kraft cs
Collage Sheet - Pink Paislee
Scrap DP inked and distressed
 CB Heart inked
Sentiment cut from MFT stitched die
and from Inspired by Stamping
Tim Holtz Holiday Greens
(be careful not to lose them as the
ones I used are so small)
Flowers Pearls Lace and Ribbon from my stash
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Distressing around edges.

Thanks so much for popping in today.
Love reading your comments.

It's a 'Groovy Birthday Wish'

When I saw the  CAS Card Challenge
for February over at STAMPlorations
I knew what stamp set  I just  'had to have'
It's STAMPlorations Groovy Shoes and perfect for our
Colour Twist which is 'HOT PINK'

This is my second month as Guest Designer and I am having
so much fun playing with all their fabulous products.

These are the products I used
preview-ShirleyBampton_GroovyShoespreview-web-stencil-broken-glass
I could have done sooooooo much more with this stamp set
but since it is a CAS Challenge I had to hold back this time.
***
I have been sweating on the mail man dropping my goodies
from STAMPlorations into my box
and he finally delivered and I couldn't wait to play.
I chose a super bright pink card base
then went on to colour those groovy shoes with
Tom Bow markers in different shades of pink.
I chose to back them with the stencil -
ARTplorations Broken Glass
inked up with Memento Angel Pink.
This was cut with a stitched die.

I added Glossy Accents to the brighter pink on the shoes
then Pink Kindy Glitz on the bottom, also spraying
a little pink randomly to block out a bit of white.
This was cut with a Spellbinder die so too for the pink frame.
The sentiment is also from the Groovy Shoes stamp set
inked with SU Melon Mambo.
Added a bit more bling with some pink gemstones.
***
Did you know
There are even more reasons to play -
You can link up to 3 CAS cards.
Can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
And one winner (voted by the design team)
will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store,
while the two top picks will each receive a $5 gift certificate.
If there are at least 50 entries, we'll also draw a random winner
and she gets to choose her prize -- a 3x5 stamp set
OR 2 standard size stencils
OR 1 CUTplorations word/phrase die.
and don't forget the 20% discount code on the side bar.
What a great way to start or build up your
STAMPloration collection.
***
If you haven't already popped over to
Our CAS Challenge head over there now and
check out all the HOT PINK CREATIONS made by the 'Team'.
I am sure you will want to play and
with Valentine's Day this month there's no stopping you!
See you there.

Thanks for dropping in. I really appreciate
you taking the time to check me out.

Time to dig out an 'Old Die'

How often does an old die get put away and forgotten about
especially when there were so many more
new ones 'you had to have'
It was timely that I got out that very old much loved
'Tattered Florals' die from the man himself - Tim Holtz.
I bet it sold zillions!
It was for the latest challenge over at Just Us Girls
that called for that very die.

Yes it's our Photo Inspiration and I am guessing that
our Hostess Nancy is wishing for 'Summer'
with this beautiful photo.

I started with the basic white card stock and
added 2 dark green strips either side of
the spotted dp. I would love to have added a little
Lady Beetle but the only one I had was too big.
I cut out the background flourish
with a Spellbinder die then added my daisy
which I cut out several times and shaped it.
Again I got out some forgotten about craft essentials
which sadly you don't see much any more -
yellow flower soft - a perfect centre!
This was popped. Added a few dew drops
and inked my sentiment which is from
49andMarket. Super font.
That's it!
Hope you get a chance to pop over to Our Blog
to check out more great inspiration.
Join in and you could be our 'Chic of the Week'
and in the running for Guest Designer in March.

Thanks for stopping by and Thanks You for
your Kind Comments.

Going for 'GOLD'

It's Challenge Time again over at Shopping Our Stash
and they are going for 'GOLD' this week.
You can find all the details Here.
How fabulous is that!
Here is the card I will enter for this challenge.

As you can see I went with lots of gold.
I love using my SU Four Feathers Stamp/Die Set
and this is what I used here.
I heat embossed 2 of the feathers with
Stamp It gold embossing powder
and the third I embossed with clear embossing powder
on bright blue paper for contrast.
I used the same paper for my card base.
I added a strip of gold with a stencil from
ARTplorations called Plaid Maker
I like the effect I got from not making 3 solid lines.
This was inked up with ColorBlast Paste.
I also added a bit more to the back of the feathers with
STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge
and stamped it quickly cleaning it before it dried and
a few dollops of blue ColorBlast Paste
Spritzed a little with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers.
My sentiment is the CUTplorations Hello Word die
cut 3 times and the top one heat embossed
the same as the feather.
Finished off with a little blue bow.

I am also adding this to the

Here
and their CUTplorations Challenge Here

Hope you like what you see and leave a comment.
Thanks for dropping in today. Till next time

A Forever Friend

Over at Time Out the current challenge is their
Case with your own Twist and this is the card we are CASEing
from the fabulously talented Ksenija

As you can see it is so clean and simple
so I followed in those lines choosing to
copy most of the layout.
I changed the stamp sentiment and the green strip.

I started by inking up SU Creative Elements in black
then coloured it with SU Gumball Green &
Tim Holtz Festive Berries adding glossy accents
to the red.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations
called Fond Expressions 2.
Card base is white to which I lightly inked up
a background from SU Sweet Summer
with Memento New Sprout
(if you look closely enough you can see it)
I attached my image with dimensional squares
after cutting it out with a stitched die.
To finish and to copy Ksenija's strip down the side
I inked mine with green Wink of Stella.

That's it for me today.
Thanks for dropping in

It's Chris's Cool Colour Challenge!

It's our Colour Week at Just Us Girls
and Hostess for this one is Chris
choosing the colours Pink Navy & Grey .

I was so undecided as to what I was going to make here
and then remembered a great grungy stamp I received
recently called - Celebrate Artsy from STAMPlorations
so decided I would stamp  one of the images with
2 of the required colours. Die cut it from a
Spellbinders die and framed it.
I seem to be in a stencil mode lately so I went
that way again for my background.
The stencils I used here are from
The Crafter's Workshop
Tim Holtz - Speckles
Dutch Doobadoo
Added a strip of  pink ribbon a button
and some cotton which I inked a little in navy.
This was popped after adding my sentiment
from Bloom Happy (love this little set)
and finishing with a few scattered gems.
A pretty simple card - and a little different.
Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to see what our Guest Shawna
and my team Mates have made.
They always 'impress'

Thanks for dropping in

A Mid Month 'Reminder' for CAS Anything Goes at STAMPlorations

It's that time of the month when we send out a 'REMINDER'
just in case you got side tracked and forgot to play at the
CAS Anything Goes Challenge over at STAMPlorations
Details are Here

I started my card using water colour paper and heat embossing
my flowers in white. Added some Distress Inks - Abandoned Coral
Mowed Lawn and Squeezed Lemonade from Tim Holtz
to my craft sheet and started blending the beautiful blooms
from STAMPloration Floral Bliss
I touched up the background lightly with a bit of
stencilling from ARTplorations Retro Circles
My sentiment is STAMPlorations by Noteworthy
inked with Memento London Fog
I just love that set. The font is fabulous don't you think?
Added some sponging around the flowers to finish
and popped.
***
I have been playing around with stencils and mixed media lately
and thought I would add this one to show you the
result I got from stencilling some Bluestone Sparkle Medium
through my ARTplorations Nestles Circles.
To add to this -
I then layered the word Happy from
CUTplorations  Happy Word Die in
grey aqua and silver.
Finished with a Birthday stamp cut from a
stitched Die from MFT and a few gems.
***
Why the Reminder? There is even more reason to play -
You can link up to 3 CAS cards.
Can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
Beginning with this challenge, one winner (voted by the design team) will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store, while the two top picks will each receive a $5 gift certificate. If there are at least 50 entries, we'll also draw a random winner and she gets to choose her prize -- a 3x5 stamp set OR 2 standard size stencils OR 1 CUTplorations word/phrase die.

'HELLO' again

I got my Lawn Fawn 'Hello' die out again to create a cas card
at AAA Cards. It's for their Hello Challenge
How easy is that? I simply got out some water colour paper
and went for an ombre type background using
Tim Holtz Distress Inks in
Mermaid Lagoon/Cracked Pistachio
Evergreen Bough & Peacock Feather and just smooched
them till I got my background. Added some Iridescent Medium
to give a shimmer effect.
The dies I used are from Kaisercraft  -in white
and an unbranded one - in silver.
This was cut from a stitched die and popped.
Added my 'HELLO' sentiment which I cut twice
giving it a lift and added some gems to finish.

Thanks for dropping in today.
Love reading your thoughts.

'Bling' in on.

I'm joining in over at Shopping our Stash
for their weekly challenge.
The current one is Stickle Me Elmo
I found this site thanks to my friend Chris. (Thank you)
All we have to do is use some kind of glitter/sparkle on our project.
How easy is that?
Don't we all love to add some sparkle here & there?

Well I may have gone 'overboard' with the shimmer but
what the heck! I like what the Wink of Stella
and Iridescent Medium brought out.

Also over at The Mod Squad  Barbara & Donna are Hosting
their Bling Challenge. I think I past on both counts.
Taking photos was challenging trying to get
the shimmer to show up.

I inked up my craft sheet with
Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade Abandoned Coral
and Mermaid Lagoon spritzed and then
using an acetate sheet inking my background randomly
till I was happy with the coverage.
I then sprayed that with Iridescent Medium
I cut my butterflies from a Spellbinder die -
the bottom with plain paper and the top
inked the same way as my background.
I completely covered the butterfly with
clear Wink of Stella.
The Hello (Lawn Fawn) was cut twice.
the back one was inked also with
Wink of Stella in gold and the front - clear
which is not showing in the photographs.
Added a few gems to finish.

Thanks for dropping in today. Love reading your comments.

It's not so Perfectly Created

I found a new blog while surfin' the net called
and their current challenge is to add texture to our card.
As some of you know I have recently been delving into a bit
of mixed media and playing around
with stencils and paints. It really is fun.

Here is my 'little bit of chaos'
and a closer look at the texture

I started my chaotic page with
my base of white card stock then
went to play with
ARTlorations Retro Circles stencil
with Green acrylic paint/Inka gold and a touch of
purple colour paste using my fingers to lift it
for dimension. There were bare bits so inked up
a baby wipe and sponged part of the background
with the leftovers.
Cut the A from an old Cuttlebug die
The Happy cut several times is CUTplorations Happy Word Die
and the Hello STAMPlorations  Celebrate Artsy
 popped with dimensions and
I rounded one of the corners.

Dropping this over to the

Thanks for dropping in today.
I appreciate your wonderful comments.

It's 'TREND WEEK' at Just Us Girls

Bobby is Hosting this weeks Trend Challenge at
Just Us Girls and chose
'All Over Stamping'

Now I had the stamp set I used here in line for another challenge
but realized it was 'perfect' for this one instead.
It is SU - Timeless Textures and this is another stamp set
that has so many ways you can use it.
I got out a bunch of Tim Holtz Distress Inks
and just started inking and stamping randomly and as you can see
it lands up an 'all over stamping' background
for my butterfly which is by the way
a left over from a few I made last year.
How perfect was that? The only thing I had
to add to my background was some Inka Gold
as I had added it to my butterfly.
I cut my background with a stitched die
and framed it then added to my card base.
I die cut my 'Happy' from Impression Obsession
attached it to the butterfly and
stamped the Birthday (from Pink & Maine)
Finished with a gem.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
for more fabulous stamping.
Join us and you could be Chic of the Week
going on to be Guest Designer in March.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in.

Pansies on Sunday

The challenge over at CAS on Sunday is to make a card with
black/white and one other colour. I chose purple (of course)

I'm afraid the photo doesn't do justice to this lovely stamp.

As the heading says CAS - this really was.
White card stock for all layers.
I heat embossed the pansie which was given by a dear friend
(Thanks Cheri) in black
and coloured three of the flowers with
Tim Holtz Wilted Violet
Added a touch of shimmery paints and
sponged lightly on the background.
The card base looked so stark in white so
I inked/spritzed a sheet of acetate with the wilted violet
and randomly added the colour.
Both stitched frames were popped.
Added pearls to finish. I would loved to have added
yellow ones but not for this challenge.

A close up showing the shimmer.

Thanks for dropping in

It's about being a bit 'ARTY'

The current 'Theme & Sketch Challenge' at

Details are Here

You can go with just the 'Theme' which is Mixed Media
or the 'Sketch'. I went with both.

I love getting my hands a bit inky with Mixed Media
and am just a beginner at it so when this challenge
called for just that I knew what I was going to play with.
I started with ARTplorations Nestled Circles Stencil
using Silver Metallic Paint & Gel Medium.
After that was dry I got all inky with
watered down Jo Sonja Deep Yellow on a paintbrush
and began to 'splatter'.
Again I waited till that dried.
The floral image I used is
STAMPlorations Bloom Happy
It had been heat embossed with Zing Charcoal.
and cut  with the CUTplorations Matching Die
It was coloured with a variety of inks & paints
adding dots from a white uniball pen and popped.

Here is a closer view of the depth of the
silver metallic acrylic paint.
Added a few grey splatters to the background.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
I thought it a perfect match for the sunny flower
which was heat embossed with Zing Metallic Finish
to blend with the stencilled background.

I used an EK Success corner rounder punch
and added a metallic silver piece of paper
to the side then popped that to finish.

I am so loving all my new goodies from STAMPlorations
and being part of the Talented Team for the next 3 months.

Hope you will go over and join in the fun like I did.
There are so many different prizes to be won
and if you aren't in it - you can't win them.

I am going to pop this card over at Dare2bartzy
'cause I got lots of new 'stuff'

I've got 'Layers'

and I used a Die
Hope I can join both challenges with this card.

Thanks for coming to visit.
Hope you will come back again soon.
