I had a couple of goes at getting a nice sky background
and this one worked. I used
and this one worked. I used
Tim's Oxides in Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean
Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke.
Balloons were inked up with
Memento Morocco/Eldenberry/Rhubarb Stalk
Added some clouds from Repeat Impressions.

This was cut with a MFT stitched die.
It's a little large and looking at it now should have been smaller.
Backed this with cs from Gina K onto white card.

Love the background to your summery card.
I don't think I could get my head around a summery Christmas and new year, Ina. It just doesn't feel right! :)
Summer sounds like fun! We had -39 right after Christmas day :)
Love the sky color of your background and dreamy air balloons.
Wow!!! Fabulous bg on this and I love the vintage/steampunk feel to it. A summer hoiday is far off for us here in Maine, USA, but I'm dreaming of one right now.
What an awesome background! Love the hot air balloons - it does feel strange that you are celebrating the holidays in the sun! I always forget that. Hope this year brings nothing but happiness and good health.
Ahhhhh - SUMMER!!! I remember when we had that once. Seems like so long ago....ha ha. We are experiencing sub zero Fahrenheit weather. Love your sweet card, and that little Scots greeting at the top of your post just made me smile. Course I didn't really know what it said....lol. Happy New Year, dear friend!! Hugs~
A wonderful card and your sky is gorgeous with the flying balloons. I guess your season is summer where ours is winter. But so glad you shared yours and it gives me a warm feeling to see a more summery design.
I love your beautiful blue background Ina. It makes me feel like I'm up in the sky with the balloons!
Ahhh...summer! I can't wait, especially as the forecast is calling for temperatures dipping and snow falling! Your hot-air balloon card is perfect to brighten 'our' dreary wintry days!
Hugs~carol
Your sky came out beautifully, Ina. Perfect for sailing hot air balloons in. It reminds me when I went up in one. It was such a great experience.

Hi Ina! Sorry this is so late but my house move is taking all my time and we still don't have internet...Thanks for the welcome on your blog and I love your card! So artsy with a vintage feel to it.I wish we had some blue skies here but this area in Germany is known to be foggy and grey all January. Looking forward to your next creation!Hugs Gwendolyn
