Hello and Welcome to today's post for
one of my favourite challenges
CAS Mix Up and this month's technique is
This is my second card and chose to
try my hand at Black Ice - one I only found
some short time ago so I wanted to have fun
with it in a different way and see how it ends up.
I did start with gold foil as my base
but you would never know.
The next step was to swipe with
Black Archival Ink and dry.
I then went on to dry emboss, ink again
and then added gold and copper embossing powder
finishing with Ranger Red Cinnabar.
Sealed it with clear embossing powder.
Added a tiny gold frame behind it.
Sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers
inked with Tim's Black Soot and
the edges with Colorbox Archival Gold.
Attached to coloured card base to finish.
If you are a little confused by my explanation
check out how I got the idea Here
I did go a little overboard but it was fun.

I hope I have left enough open space.

Great card Ina, that technique is so effective, wonderful with the embossed gold foil and those EP over the top - love the pink in it
What a gorgeous card and technique Ina, I love the gold touches and the beautiful hot pink!
Hugs, Tammy
Beautifully done and a lovely image used too.
I'm not sure I understand what you actually did here, Ina, but the result is outstanding.
What a lovely experiment, Ina! I love all the different colors and the embossed flowers! I'll be it really shines too! Thanks so much for sharing with us again at CAS Mix Up!
This is so pretty Ina! I love the mix of colours of embossing powders with this fun technique. You'll see my "black Ice" card tomorrow on the reminder post. I started with gold as well, but it still looks gold. :) I love the mixed media look of your metal better. I need to let go more and just "go for it"! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful metal card with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
Wow Ina you've had a blast making this one I think. Great unique result too. Love the hot pink :)
What a great way to make this technique your own Ina! The red looks great on this - as well as the embossing - so much added texture and color! thanks for joining us in the CAS Mix Up!! Julia xx
Stunning mixing of the the colours, powders, inks and dry embossing to produce your unique and fabulous card. I think its wonderful how you started with the Black Ice Technique and then went for it and made it your own. Love the punchy and vibrant pink too. Thanks Ina for playing again at The CAS Mix Up Metal Challenge and I know how much you enjoy mixing the medias, trying new techniques and being so creative x.
This is a wonderful bit of alchemy Ina and it has worked beautifully with the black ink which has outlined the embossing and highlighted it so well, and the embossing powders heated over the top of the flowers look great. x
Incredible Ina. I adore the pinkish appeal to this whole dynamics. You did the Black Ice Technique honours ;)
You gave the technique a beautiful new look, truly stunning. Thanks for joining us at CAS Mix Up! xx
