I Chose Art

Hello Crafty Friends
It's time for the New Challenge over at
and I thought I would do something a little different.

I brought back a door hanger from a hotel I stayed at
while in Dublin UK and as it hangs on the door to my play room
I decided to do a template of it and make it a bit more 'me'
hence I went with a Scottish Theme with the Thistle and colours.
Of course I added a few dragonflies
as I love the Outlander Series.
Here's how it started with a template from this this -  to finish like this!

Started my background with
Lindy's Sprays and Powders
using the same mediums for my thistle die cut.
then cutting out the Italian Flourish doily from Cherry Lynn
to add to the side and coloured with Lindy's Spray.
My dragonflies are from Visible Image
as is the words 'I Choose'
'Art' Word from That's Crafty. Added some stamping from
Visible Image around the edges and touches of stenciling
with transparent matt texture paste
adding colour with Art Alchemy Heather Hills Wax.
Stenciled the background with
white texture paste from Tim's Speckles.
Popped my thistle after adding sprinkles of
Heather Flower Soft on the head and
falling down to the bottom.
Finished with a variegated purple bow.

Pop over and see what my
Talented Team Mates, our New Designer
the very talented Tracey
(Big Welcome to the Team)
and Guest Marina created this month.
Be inspired and come join us.
Thanks for dropping in.
Till next time Cherrio from

Oh Ina what a grand idea for that door hanger to use it as a template. Lovely to see the beautiful thistle take centre stage amongst your shimmering Lindy spray background. I hope this now replaces the Do Not Disturb on the door handle of your playroom? Fabulous!! Hugs Tracey xx
P.S I'll second that regarding.. Outlander, awesome viewing.
