It's Saturday and Time for our New Challenge over at

Just Us Girls

Lisa is our Host for our Wild Card Week.

This comes around when we have five Saturdays in a month.

My tri-fold card is a Twisted Gatefold.

I did a dummy run (just the fold part) first

 to make sure I got it right.

Card base and DP are retired SU as is

the inks and floral dies (Botanical Blooms)

Inside sentiment is Inspired by Stamping.

Hello and Welcome to my post for

Sistah Darlene has chosen the Theme

April Showers bring May Flowers

Mine are Wildflowers!

I had a lot of fun making this card using

Tim's Wildflower Stencil and Dies 

with colourful Oxide Inks, Lindy's Magical's

and puffy heat embossing paste on the big flower.

Lots of splatters and sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

Fixed to bright card base.

I know our Gallery will be full of beautiful blooms

Don't you love it when you see a photo

and know exactly how you want to make your card!

Yep... that's how it was when I saw this

totally awesome cool  photo

that our Host Cecile found 

with sooooooooo many fun choices

for our Word Week at

Just Us Girls

Here's a closer look!

I have used another new stencil from 

AALL&Create Mock Croc (#48)

 inking lots of Tim's Oxide Inks to cover the whole page.

I then added some black surrounds and

 hand doodle-ing similar to the photo.

Found some fun sentiments from 

STAMPlorations Noteworthy

heat embossed in black.

An after thought was the Broken Circles (#28)

stencilled with Ranger Transparent Gloss Paste

that matched the background of the

fabulous colourful painted stones in the photo.

A Groovy Birthday Card

Sue is our Host at Just Us Girls 

and chose a lovely and popular combination

 for our Colour week 

Instead of inking up pretty flowers I went with

inking up a new AALL&Create Stencil

 

Simply stenciled three stencils in red and black,

added a sprinkle of red embossing powder

on the black, splatters, sentiment is

heat embossed with both colours.

Adhered to white card base and that's a wrap!

Of course our Guest Mac Mable and the Team

have made spectacular cards in this weeks colours

So Incredably 'Precious'

 The heading says it all for the card I made for

our New Challenge over at

The Sisterhood of Crafters

I knew what I was going to make as soon as I saw

Sistah Lia chose Slimline Cards.

I don't make many of the large traditional size but

my thistle die is a biggie!

I went with a Mixed Media type of card.

Lindy's Witch's Potion Purple and

Freak Franklin Lime Magical's were used on my Thistle

and  Tim's Faded Jeans oxide ink

on my background as the Scottish flag

is Blue and White.

Added stencilling and stamping

from Visible Image and AALL&Create

and a whitewash to tone it down.

 Kaisercraft Weathered Texture Die

backing my Thistle.

Inked my perfect sentiment 

as a Thistle is to me So Precious.

Tore the edges inked and

adhered to purple ribbon.

Hand drawn squiggles around the edges

adding to white card base.

Here is a close up highlighting the colours better.

A 'Tartan' Christmas Wish

 Time for our New Challenge at

Christmas Craft Creations 

and the theme is right up my alley.

TARTAN /Plaid

A very CAS card using tartan background to 

highlight some holiday greens fromTim Holtz

 sprinkled with snow. Added bells and a pearl,

tied some twine and added to a black frame

onto white card base.

What's the Trend at Just Us Girls

It's Saturday and that means it's

time for our Weekly Challenge at Just Us Girls 

I am Hosting our Trend Week and chose

Foil on Alcohol Inked Cards.

This is something I have long admired but

have never tried it. I bought foil

a few years ago at a Craft Show and they have

sat in limbo till now.

I spent some time with my supplies outside with a fan on

renewing the fun it is to just play with alcohol inks.

I admit there were a few that went you know where

but still had plenty to choose from. 

This one using Alcohol Inks and GoPress Foil

(Golden Cream Light Mirror Finish)

Memory Box Perky Poppy

Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders and

Craft4U die cut sentiment with gold foil.

and this one - has lots of 

blue green foil (Iridescent Finish)

die cut into three, lightly popped

attached to white frame.

Sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio

Added a few clear cabachons

Adhered to white card base to finish.

I realize now I should have used

one of the other coloured ones for contrast and interest.

I am super excited to see the Gallery this week

after checking out the incredible makes from

our Talented Guest Mac Mable and Teamies.

A Tag for Bizzy Becs

There is a New Anything Goes Challenge starting over at

 Bizzy Becs Store 

and I have made a colourful tag using

several dies from my new favourite

Sizzix Wildflower Stems #1

which is available to pre order from the store.

Background was made with 

Tim's Oxide Inks available In Store

using acetate on wet inks.

Added crackle paste with a stencil

and an extra flower head for dimension

with a few pearls.

Finished with a fitting sentiment.

An 'Eggstraordinary' Nest.

It's funny where a Challenge will take you.

Today's card for Just Us Girls did just that.

It's our Word Week and Elizabeth chose EGG.

After all Easter is just around the corner!

As it is a New Month it is with great joy that

we Welcome our Very Talented Guest Mac Mable.

We are all in for a month of Treats!

As you see this isn't the normal Easter type card

and sometimes a photo doesn't do it justice!

Here's  a close up below of the nested eggs.

I only have one little stamp with eggs and

after umteen attempts nothing worked out.

Pinterest to the rescue and by chance I found

a few ideas for a Mixed Media Make.

I used bark, leaves and various items

picked up from time to time.

Attached some cut up straw onto some hessian

for the nest and punched out the eggs.

Where there are eggs there are feathers!

Raided the chicken pen again lol
To give some sort of depth to the eggs

I added crackle glaze and wax.

On to adhering art stones, liquid pearls and splatters.

Waxed in various places for added colour.

Attached to bright card base to finish.

It's that time of the month for our 

New Anything Goes Challenge at

Creative Artiste Miixed Media

I hadn't planned on a hanging piece to begin with

but in the end I decided to go the extra distance.

You will see lots more makes using

Tim's Wildflowers as I have so many ways

I want to use them.

Background is covered by blending

Tim's oxide inks adding stencilling and

texture with grit paste.

Flowers were cut and coloured with the same colours

as the background.

Sentiment is from AALL&Create.

This is when I decided to go further

with packing paper and cardboard backing.

Added a mixture of products to the cardboard

and adhered all together to complete.

I started my background with the

ARTplorations Plaid Maker stencil

using Distress Grit Paste.

Once that was dry I inked up with

Tim's Oxide Blueprint Sketch.

Added sentiment from

STAMPlorations Bloom Sketches.

Die cut my dragonfly from

CUTplorations DragonflyLayering Die

Back cut is inked with 

Lindy's Afternoon Delight Denim

and front cut with blue vellum.

Added Stickles Frosted Lace to the centre.

Finished with gems and corner rounded one edge

and adhered to navy card base.

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

 This weeks Challenge over at

Just Us Girls is Photo Week and

Hosting is Bobby

and here is the photo of a sweet outdoor scene

with birds singing around those pretty flowers.

I took my inspiration from the lovely blue birdhouse

then the pretty blue and yellow birds - hence

there is one sitting on the birdcage.

Added a background to highlight them

and the green flourish to add lots and lots of

pretty flowers using dies and punches.

Not to forget the pretty butterfly.

Of course I had to have a smooched

 blue background to start with.

Added my sentiment and some Liquid Pearls

to the centre of my flowers.

Adhered to navy card base and 

my pretty card is complete.

I had so much fun making this card

thanks to Bobby's beautiful photo. 

I am sure our gallery will be full of colour this week.

The Sentiment Says it All

Our New Challenge over at  The Sisterhood of Crafters

and Sistah Vicki is looking for THE SENTIMENT

to be the focal point of  our card. 

I got out a favourite stamp that makes for an easy card

to highlight the sentiment...

It's Hero Arts Leafy Vines

inked up with SU Calypso Coral.

Sentiment dies are a gift from a friend.

Inked the background die in the same colour as the vines

and the words layered up three times in white.

Gave it a light spray with Perfect Pearls.

Finished with a tiny butterfly and pearls.
