An 'Eggstraordinary' Nest.

It's funny where a Challenge will take you.
Today's card for Just Us Girls did just that.
It's our Word Week and Elizabeth chose EGG.
After all Easter is just around the corner!
As it is a New Month it is with great joy that
we Welcome our Very Talented Guest Mac Mable.
We are all in for a month of Treats!

As you see this isn't the normal Easter type card
and sometimes a photo doesn't do it justice!
Here's  a close up below of the nested eggs.

I only have one little stamp with eggs and
after umteen attempts nothing worked out.
Pinterest to the rescue and by chance I found
a few ideas for a Mixed Media Make.
I used bark, leaves and various items
picked up from time to time.
Attached some cut up straw onto some hessian
for the nest and punched out the eggs.
Where there are eggs there are feathers!
Raided the chicken pen again lol
To give some sort of depth to the eggs
I added crackle glaze and wax.
On to adhering art stones, liquid pearls and splatters.
Waxed in various places for added colour.
Attached to bright card base to finish.
Head over and check out the
'eggstraordinary' cards our Talented Guest Mac Mable
and the Team wowed you with and
add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in for a visit.

LIVE your Art!

It's that time of the month for our
New Anything Goes Challenge at

I hadn't planned on a hanging piece to begin with
but in the end I decided to go the extra distance.
You will see lots more makes using
Tim's Wildflowers as I have so many ways
I want to use them.
Background is covered by blending
Tim's oxide inks adding stencilling and
texture with grit paste.
Flowers were cut and coloured with the same colours
as the background.

Sentiment is from AALL&Create.

This is when I decided to go further
with packing paper and cardboard backing.

Added a mixture of products to the cardboard
and adhered all together to complete.
Check out what's in store for you over at
We would love to see your Mixed Media Make there.
You just have to use multiple mediums
on our Anything Goes Challenge.

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

 This weeks Challenge over at
Just Us Girls is Photo Week and
Hosting is Bobby
and here is the photo of a sweet outdoor scene
with birds singing around those pretty flowers.
I took my inspiration from the lovely blue birdhouse
then the pretty blue and yellow birds - hence
there is one sitting on the birdcage.
Added a background to highlight them
and the green flourish to add lots and lots of
pretty flowers using dies and punches.
Not to forget the pretty butterfly.
Of course I had to have a smooched
 blue background to start with.
Added my sentiment and some Liquid Pearls
to the centre of my flowers.
Adhered to navy card base and
my pretty card is complete.
I had so much fun making this card
thanks to Bobby's beautiful photo.
I am sure our gallery will be full of colour this week.
Head over and see what our Guest JoAnne
and the Team took from the photo.
Could be Spring in some parts but
Autumn is on it's way here.
A big Thank You to JoAnne for
sharing her talents with us this month.

The Sentiment Says it All

Our New Challenge over at  The Sisterhood of Crafters
and Sistah Vicki is looking for THE SENTIMENT
to be the focal point of  our card.

I got out a favourite stamp that makes for an easy card
to highlight the sentiment...
It's Hero Arts Leafy Vines
inked up with SU Calypso Coral.
Sentiment dies are a gift from a friend.
Inked the background die in the same colour as the vines
and the words layered up three times in white.
Gave it a light spray with Perfect Pearls.
Finished with a tiny butterfly and pearls.
head over and see what the Sistah's created
and we would love to have you
add yours to our Gallery.

Christmas Wishes

Time for another card for the

I inked my AALL&Create embossed background
lightly with Tim's Frayed Burlap.
Die cut the bottom and again in green.
Holly branch is from Kaisercraft
using the same green and coloured
the berries with Ruby Red Liquid Pearls.
I seem to get a better result with them
over the Nuvo Drops.
Stamped my sentiment, added some
red cotton, attaching it to red card base.
Head over and see what The Team created
and join in with yours in The Gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

Have you seen a Plaid Snowflake?

The current challenge over at
is coming to a close and I wanted to
add to the Gallery for their

For my card I got out some very old
Cuttlebug Christmas Embossing Folders.
Embossed and die cut the squares, corner rounded a few,
 framed them and popped.
The main big plaid (tartan) snowflake diecut
is also CB which included the embossed image.
I used that, but can't see it after I clear heat embossed it twice.
The white snowflake was dry embossed.
Added layers as well as a scored strip to the background.
The old Swiss Dots just added something extra also.
Sentiment is from Tim's Great Outdoors.
Nice to get some old favourites out again and have fun!
Thanks for dropping in for a visit.

It's Bold and Beautiful

Hello and welcome to todays post for
Just Us Girls hosted by Vicki

I was watching This Video on YouTube with
Simon Hurley recently and as soon as it finished
I knew I HAD TO TRY IT!
as it was perfect for our Trend Week
Here's a close up

My stencil is Altenew Cheerful Bloom
and simply did exactly as Simon showed us
using most of my Nuvo Shimmer Powders
and fussy cut.
Added my STAMPlorations sentiment
heat embossed in gold.
Added lots of pop dots and attached to
Crazed Paper I got from our Officeworks.
It was such an easy and quick card but
what a dramatic result!
I am going to do this again but with my
Lindy's Magical's as I am sure to get
another dramatic result.
Head over and see the beautiful cards
the Team created and I am sure
you will want to join in this week.
Add to our Gallery and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running to be
our Guest Designer in May.

#UPDATE Sending this over to
without the twist
and
My simple sentiment says it all.

It's an Oldie but a Goodie

Todays post is for our  New Challenge over at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and we would like to see
those 'old tucked away neglected stamps' come to life again.
We would also like you to mention how long
you have had it in your stash.
I was lucky that Gina K had the year on the
sets I used.

I knew that I wanted to choose some of Gina's older stamp sets
as these were some of the first I bought way back then.
They are Springtime Silhouettes 2011
and sentiment is from Whimsical Wishes 2012.
I found a card on Pinterest that used the Silhouette stamps
and I took my inspiration from Michelle Woerner's card Here
It's an old style layout but still lovely.

I used old SU Going Places DP papers/ribbon
 and the SB circle die,
even sponged inside the die like we used to.
Topped it off with some old Liquid Pearls
to the centre of the flowers.
Attached to card base to complete.
That was 'so fun'
Head over and check out what oldie's the Sistah's found
to create with and we sure hope you
bury your head into your old stash and
add yours to our Gallery. You will be surprised
at what you find. I can hear you saying
I forgot I had that! Time to ink it up again.
Thanks for visiting.

Celebrate the Season

This month at Christmas Craft Creations
we are looking for Slimline Creations.
I decided to go with the traditional size after
watching Kristina Werner make This card

It's pretty simple really.White card base and
red to heat emboss my Large Christmas Flower
from STAMPlorations with Nuvo Gold Enchantment Powder.
Stamped the flower on scrap paper for masking then
blending Tim's Aged Mahogany around the flowers.
Also on the inside.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Merry.
Decided I would add some gold embossing
on the sides for even more sparkle.
Head over and see which way the Team chose
to make their Slimline Cards -
traditional or mini size!
Looking forward to seeing the Gallery this month.
Thanks for dropping in

'TIS THE SEASON

It's time for a New Challenge over at

For this Challenge I went with a Wintery Scene.
My background is a mix of Lindy's Magical's and
Iridescent Medium on the edges and
flicked for snowdrops.
Die cut my trees with metallic paper
and added in front of very lighly inked trees
from Tim's Great Outdoors.
Sentiment is also from the same set.
Punched a few shimmery stars and
attached to navy card.
Head over and see what The Team created
and add yours to the Gallery.

A Little Bit of Ireland

Elizabeth is Hosting our Word Week over at
Just Us Girls and has chosen
Now if you look at the date -
St Patrick's Day is coming up soon and that was
my first thought on where I was heading.

After searching every stamp set I have
I couldn't find any 'lucky' ones and
that is where I was stumped for quite some time.
Eventually I went CAS with my favourite technique
using Lindy's Magicals in
Bells of Ireland (of course)
and found some tiny hearts hiding in my
drawer of old Cuttlebug Dies, cut a tiny stem
inked the edges to give a little definition.
Sentiment is computer generated using the
Emerald Isle Font (naturally)
even got lucky inking the edges.
€€€
Since we are talking about lucky!
I was lucky enough to spend time in Ireland
with my sister/husband niece and cousin
doing the tourist thing checking out the
beautiful floral displays that are everywhere,
get a photo with an Irish Model (lol)
and couldn't go past Sweet Molly Malone
then as we were driving along I saw
a sign that had MY NAME on it so
asked the bus driver to pull up so I could get a photo.
(Lucky Me)

Hope you head over to Our Blog
and see what is in store for you there.
Join in and you could be Chic of the Week and
in the running for our Guest Designer in May.

As we start a New Month we welcome our
 March Guestie JoAnn Burnam.
Thanks for visiting.

Live in the Moment!

Did you blink and February disappeared?
It did for me and found myself being reminded
the New Challenge for
Lucky for me it has been raining steadily all day
as well as last night so perfect day to get inky.
Sorry there are no progress photos this time
but a run down on how it was made
and products used.

So glad my playtime was creative and
turned out quite nicely.
I used Canson 300g Cold Press W/C paper
inking up Tim's Crackling Campfire and
Peeled Paint inks for the background.
Stencilled AALL&Create Moc Croc and
Art Anthology with texture paste,
liking that it gave me a light colour.
Then on to some random stamping from
AALL&Create #28, That's Crafty Texture
and Visible Image Live in the Moment Sentiment.
Added touches of Lindy's Pumpkin Fiesta EP
on top of the texture paste in parts.
My dragonfly stamp was a gift from a friend.
Added some Nuvo Glitter gloss to the centre of the dragonfly
then sprinkled Lindy's Ponderosa Pines Olive
over the top and roughed it up a bit.
Inked some of the edges with the same powder
and Tim's Black Soot.
Tried a bit of gold wax on the dragonfly
but didn't show up enough.
Pop over and see what The Team created
and we would love to see your MM project
in our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting.
Till next time -

A Bright Happy Happy Birthday

We have had our February Hiatus and now we
craft on at STAMPlorations.
Time to showcase what I made this month.
Something a little different for our
Anything Goes Stencil Challenge

I started my card by inking up the
with Tim's Oxide Inks in various colours
then some watermarks with my fingers.
For an interesting background I  put the
