Guest Designer at Try It On Tuesday

I was thrilled to be invited to be a 

Guest Designer at  Try It On Tuesday

after being chosen as a Top 5 at a recent challenge.

How awesome that their New Challenge is to

Use a Stencil.

Those that know me are well aware of how I

love using my stencils is all different ways.

For my Guest card I used a fabulous stencil from

Scrapmats - ST9088.

I started by adding texture paste to my heavy card base.

Once dry I got out my Lindy's Magical's

and let the colours run through the cracks

to achieve the gorgeous colours.

My dragonfly is from ARTplorations, die cutting

the main image from leftovers on my glass mat.

Cut one again only using the wings and body

for added dimension.

She was popped on top of cheesecloth

and finishing with a vellum sentiment

from STAMPlorations. 

Adhered to matching bright card stock.

I swiped the background with distress inks to cover

and scored to create a wall but is a little hard to see.

Added Tim's wildflowers. Inked the centres and

adding a touch of perfect pearls, a bow and

sentiment from his small talk.

Adhered to white card base.

Butterfly Flutter!

Time for our New Challenge at

 The Sisterhood of Crafters with one that is so popular

BUTTERFLIES!

and don't we all have an abundance of these beautiful creatures.

I decided not to stamp any of them but to pull out

some (just some) of my already die cuts - 

mostly from SU and a few Spellbinder ones.

Neutral colours were chosen for the card base

and background so I could pick

all sorts of pretty colours.

My big Happy die is from Heidi Swapp

die cut twice and birthday from Pink & Maine.

Dream - Create - Inspire

 Over at Try It On Tuesday their current challenge is

Rainbow Colours

I love going all bright with these colours as you see below.

I have used Brusho's for the background and 

stamps from AALL&Create and my favourite

Visible Image - Creative Chaos inked, heat embossed

and the head of the flower cut and coloured.

Added a few pretty butterflies and 

inked up sentiments to complete.

Attached to bright card base.

Our New Challenge at  Just Us Girls 

is our CAS Week and Hosting is Carol M

 

I'm in the naughty  corner because it wasn't  till I

uploaded my card I realised it was our CAS Challenge

and hope there is enough white space.

My background  and icypoles were inked with

oxides on photo paper and buffed to bring out the bright colours.

The icypoles are from STAMPlorations.

Sentiments are from various sets.

Added a circle around the so and finished with

lots of splatters and attached to white card base.

A Potted Birthday Bloom

 Our Host Nancy has found a 

fabulous Mood Board for us to take inspiration from

this week at Just Us Girls

As soon as I saw that pot full of blooms

I knew where I was heading.

Here's a closer view.

My background is stencilled with texture paste

and after drying added Lindy's Magical's

letting it run through and onto the raised cracks.

Added an inked up Kaisercraft texture die.

Fussy cut my pot from AALL&Create and SU bloom coloured

with distress inks and a touch of perfect pearls.

This was popped onto the itty bits from the

background die. Thought it made a perfect

resting place for the potted flower.

Finished with a simple sentiment

and raised onto SU card base.

Raindrops are Falling...

 

April Showers are falling over at

The Sisterhood of Crafters but for me

they are BIG raindrops from a big shower!

There are times when a challenge really stumps you

and Mo and Jo flee to the hills.

Well that is what happened to me with this one,

lots of procrastinating and finally -

decided showers are raindrops right?

so off  I went to gather my supplies.

Background is Lindy's Magical's,

raindrops are from Carabelle.

Floral image is AALL&Create #752 Elegant Stems

stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne and heat embossed clear.

Cut out a flower head in two parts, popped and coloured with

Tim's Kitsch Flamingo and

 Nuvo Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder.

Sentiment is AALL&Create #754 Power of the Word.

Santa's Elfs at Work!

We are looking for a bit of Humour this month 

for our Christmas cards at Christmas Craft Creations

 

I had a load of fun making this card.

The stamp set is from STAMPlorations

Whoever made the elfs legins didn't knit them

very well as all the colours are mixmatched.

(that was fun)

in red green and silver.

The boots have a touch of glitter.

Added various fun sentiments and

sequins and gems to finish.

Word Week at Just Us Girls and chose

'SUNSHINE'

My background rays are embossed and coloured 

in a variety of distress inks and shimmer powders.

Cut out the cool sunglasses in gold and black.

CUTplorations sentiment die cut several time

for depth. Backed with orange card stock

and on to white base.

There is plenty of sunshine 

from our Guest Joanne and The Team to swoon over

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge

 

Our new challenge over at Creative Artiste Mixed Media is live.

I have made a simple tag this time as I have long time friends

visiting from the other side of Australia and have been

showing my girlfriend all sorts of crafty ideas.

Sorry there are no progress photos this time.

The background we made together using the

 shaving cream technuique

then stenciling (AALL&Create)

Die cut the flowers and leaves from Tim's Wildflowers

coloured with Magical's

adding a punched sentiment and coloured seam bunding tie.

I did my usual smooched background

adding stenciling with texture paste

and a shadowed flower to the side.

My bee is a Sizzix die from Jennifer Ogborn

 inked and heat embossed clear and backed with sisel.

adhered to brown card base.

It's CAS Week at Just Us Girls

It's our CAS (Clean and Simple) Week at

Just Us Girls . Host is Sue and is asking for a card

1/3 or Less - something I have never made before.

Among my old retired SU Sets I found Clearly For You

 with a pretty little floral stamp I thought would work perfectly. 

I wet a paint brush and swiped it with Tim's Speckled Egg

to highlight  the flower inked with Memento Rhubarb Stalk

and heat embossed clear for a nice shine.

A little swipe to ground it and finish with

a simple sentiment and some tiny splatters.

Colour Me a Rainbow

What's our Theme this time round at

We are looking for Rainbow/Rainbow Colours.

For my rainbow background I used Tim's Distress inks

with the Scratchy Stencil from Kaisercraft.

Lavinia stamping with Versafine Clair Nocturne

leaving one lighter and heat embossed clear.

Sentiment is from AALL&Create Power of the Word

Framed in black onto white card base.

 What a fabulous Mood Board Elizabeth chose

as Host for us at Just Us Girls

Check it out with a closer view...

I took a few things from the fabulous mood board -

again playing with my new Artsy Stems dies from Tim

instead of flowers.

My background was picked from the top right

using Liquid Pearls on an acrylic block

and left to dry. Chose the hello sentiment from the middle

and the green tones from the bottom left.

Pearls to the centre and layers to finish.

Creative Chaos at Just Us Girls

Elizabeth is our Host this week at 

Just Us Girls and chose Rainbow.

I couldn't go past the fun of inking up

Tim's distress inks and wetting them 

on w/c paper to let the colours drip and do their thing.

The sentiment from Visible Image Creative Chaos

fits perfectly here. Heat embossed clear after

inking with VersaFine Clair Nocturne.

Nothing else was needed here just added a

black frame onto white base and I am done.

Going Green!

Welcome to my post for Sisterhood Of Crafters

We are looking a little Green - could it be

some people are thinking 

The Luck of the Irish!

I usually do but went in a different direction.

Once again I found a lovely background in my bits box

and a little Mixed Media was created with

stamping and stenciling the background

then inking up this lovely tree

and sentiment from STAMPlorations -  Wild and Free

Distressed the edges and inked in black,

adhering to green card base.

Joy the the World!

We are looking for One Layer cards this month at

Christmas Craft Creations

Do you find them hard or a favourite?

I'm a layer maker so this was a little different.

With a one layer card sometimes it is

a CAS one which I have here.

Stencils were inked on the background and tree

in traditional Christmas colours,

script stamping to the background.

Finished with a sentiment and inked edges.

We're back at Happy Little Stampers!

 We had rather a long hiatus at Happy Little Stampers

but we are all back now ready to inspire you

 for the rest of the year.

As part of the Stencil Team here is my inspiration for this month.

I recently purchased Tim's Artsy Stems

and have already uploaded another card I made

with these dies and similar colours  Here

Again the stencil I used is from

 AALL&Create  - #58 Mock-croc

using Tim's Distress Inks. I added the

Darkroom Door Coffee Stain with

VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves

for a background to my die cut.

Unfortunately the colours were too similar

and the flower is a little lost.

I added a touch of colour to the flower

and Nuvo Gloss to the centre,

splatters and a simple sentiment to finish.
