My 'Word' for Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome. It's Saturday and
a New Month of Challenges at
You know what it means when we start a new month -
Shawna Standish from The Grand Stampede  has been chosen
to be our Guest Designer for March
A Warm Welcome Shawna.

I'm Hosting and chose Animals
for our Word Week.

So much choice here and after much thought
and changing my mind several times I came up with
something I have had for 'years' in my stash.
It is simply a sheet with images from Creatief Art Belgium
SWK30-041 to cut out
and pop up to give a lovely illusion of depth.
I wasn't sure if I should add something to the corner
but after good advice I left it free and add
something appropriate inside.

Open it and see what is inside.
and open again for a wish for the recipient.

Pop over and admire what our Guest Shawna created
and of course  my Oh So Talented Team Mates.
I am sure there will be all sorts of traditional
and quirky animals running riot in the Gallery.
Hope yours is there.
You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week
and you are in the mix for a Guest Spot in May.

Thanks for dropping in

A Threefer of Tag Treats for Creative Artiste

Hello and Welcome to my playtime for

I wasn't sure what I wanted to make this time
and decided to get out my gel plate for some backgrounds.
I cut out three tags using heavy watercolour paper.
The effect I was looking for with the gel plate didn't happen
as I found a few of my TH Oxide inks
didn't cover the way I wanted
so added some Magical Powders and Lindy's Sprays
 for a more covered background.
Then the next day I cut out 3 more tags
and tried again. I then had six tags to play with
to see which ones would get the final touch.

I used so many different products and will try my best
to name most of them.
Tag 1
TH Oxide Inks Lindy's Sprays
TH Stencil
Texture Paste
AALL&Create, That's Crafty and Visible Image Stamps
Glitter Embossing Powder
Wool for the bow.
Tag 2
TH Oxide Inks
Lindy's Sprays
Bronze Embossing Powder
Twine
Spellbinder Butterfly
Kaisercraft pearl
MFT circle die for AALL&Create words
Art Alchemy Wax
Tag 3
TH Oxide Inks
Lindy's Sprays/Magicals Powders
Seam Binding
Diecut flowers
Text from Word Page

That's my play time for
Hope you enjoyed checking out my
threefer tags and I inspired you to
get creative and add your mixed media project this month.
 You just need multiple mediums
and you could be one of the Lucky Winners.

Stencil Time at STAMPlorations

After we had February off the STAMPlorations Girls have been getting creative again.
The March Stencil Challenge is up and running
and here is what I had fun making as part of the Team.

Once again I delved into my bits box and came across
this background using reinkers and liquid pearls.
You may have seen another card I made recently
using the same technique.
I got out one of my 'older' stencils
and stenciled with Black Starlight Wax.
Next I added some crackle stenciling in the corners
using another favourite Sanna Lippert's Fairy Tale Forest
was heat embossed on to vellum.
Scored either side for effect.
Finished by attaching to black card base.

Here are the products I used.

Pop over and see what my ARTplorations Team Mates created
for your pleasure this month.
Hope you can play and I will be back in the
middle of the month to remind you with another card.
Thanks for dropping in

The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen

It's the last Saturday of the month and time for our
Photo Challenge at  Just Us Girls and hosting this week is Sue.

When I saw this photo it reminded me of my Dad
who had told me he had actually seen the
Northern Light of Old Aberdeen in Scotland - hence
the dymo cut sentiment depicting what they may have
looked like for him.
There is a song about this and sung by a
very popular Scottish singer most of you would not
have heard of - Andy Stewart.
I know a few of my friends will know him and his music.
I was lucky enough to see this gentleman in concert
and brought back so many memories of my childhood
listening to his music with my parents.
***
My first attempt was very different to this
and I did the crafters sin by adding just one more thing
and spoilt it. However I do like this one a lot better
and was quicker to make.
I inked and heat embossed a bunch of trees
just like the photo and then added Tim's Oxide Inks
a few tiny stars from a gel pen and a few bigger ones
with a dipped cotton bud and a spray of perfect pearls.
Adhered to a black mat onto metallic card stock
that has a hint of green.

We bid farewell to our February Guest Leslie
and Thank her for sharing her creativity
with us this month.
Pop over and see what Leslie and the Team
made with that stunning colourful photo
and join in our Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and be our Guest in April.
Thanks for dropping in

Sweet Friend

Hello and Welcome to today's post.
As soon as I saw what the colours for the new challenge at
Chosen colours are Peach and Green
I knew I HAD TO make time to add a card to their gallery.
Two things came to mind straight away.
Magical Powders and SU Botanical Blooms.
Perfect Partners!

Those that know me know I don't
colour images very often
so I let my Magical Powders do their magic here for
both flowers and leaves.
I used the Nantucket Pearls
Cape Cod Coral and Sea Grass Green.
Sentiment is from Altenew cut from a Cuttlebug Tag Die.
Background is embossed with Couture Creations Ambrosia.
Attached to SU Groovy Guava.

Here's a close up!

Hope you like my card and love to read your comments.
Thanks for dropping in.

Colour me a 'Rainbow'

 Hi and welcome to Saturday.
Time to show you my make for our
Colour Challenge at Just Us Girls
and our Host Angie chose
Rainbow Colours. I may be old fashioned but
I always use the seven colours.

When I think of rainbow colours
my hand goes straight into my Brusho drawer
for an easy peasy colourful creation,
This is just what I did here and simply stamped
a big sentiment from STAMPlorations
which fits perfectly with today's times.
Attached to white card base and I'm done.
Pop over and see what Leslie and the Team
created with colourful rainbow colours.
Hope to see you in the Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in

Smile for The Sisters

 Hello and Welcome again.
Here is the second card I made for the
Sisterhood of Crafters current challenge

I decided to keep with the same bright sunny colours,
and using a big Smile stamp for my word.

Here's a close up showing the glitter embossing.

The bottom part of my card has been inked with
several word stamps from
STAMPlorations Subway Art Builders - Dare
then inked and spritzed my glass mat with
Tim's Spiced Marmalade Ox ink
and stamped  masking the  STAMPlorations Bloom Sketches.
The top flowers were inked lightly with Prima Marketing Bare
again masked.
Sponged around the edges lightly with leftover ink
using a baby wipe.
Drew a pen line around the edge and added a
bit of squiggle. The Smile stamp was inked and then
heat embossed with Gold Glitter.
Oh and I added some splatters for interest.
This was another fun card to create and liked
the result I got from the stamping of wet ink.

Thanks for dropping in. Hope you enjoyed
checking out how my card was made.
Till next time - Cherrio from

Where there's Tea!

This week over at The Little Red Wagon
they are looking for Hot Drinks
so why not go with hot colours too!
That's what I chose to do here.

I found this colourful background in my bits box
which was made with the shaving cream technique and
for something different I use a variety of Liquid Pearls
that have been lying idle in a drawer and reinkers.
You would know just how shimmery the pearls are.
The colourful tea cups are from the Poppy Tea Cup Stack
cut with scrap pieces of card stock.
My tag is from CUTplorations Tags 1.
When I popped it I was going to add a sentiment
from STAMPlorations Always Tea Time
to the left side of it hence it is a little too far to the right.
Decided to put one at the bottom instead.
It is small and reads Where There's Tea There is Hope.
To fill the gap I cut a scallop border from MFT.
Added a few hearts from the die cut cups and a
tiny piece of ribbon to the tag to finish.
I always enjoy getting that die out and having fun
decorating the cups in various ways.
Even added a touch of shimmer to the yellow parts.

Hope you like my hot tea cup stack.
Thanks for dropping in.

Sending Hugs for JUGS

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
and it's our Trend Week.
Hosting is Maria and chose one that is
'All Over Blogland'
You guessed it - we are to make a
Slimline Card.

I refrained from adding Lindy's Magical's
for my card but instead concentrated on some
Designer Papers. My card is a smaller version
of a slimline card and I really like it.
I distressed the edges of both papers and tore
just one side. I backed my floral display
with a torn inked piece for another dimension.
Lucky I have Press & Seal
to temporarily adhere my floral display
so I could glue it in place.
I did have a plain piece of orange paper I was
going to use for my flowers but found a
piece of colourful (Magical's) paper
in my bits box I cut which looks so much nicer.
I know I said I wasn't going to use those magic powders
but it is only a wee bit.
Sentiment from Altenew
is cut out with an old Cuttlebug die.
Finished by adhering to white card base.

Pop over and see what our Guest Leslie and the Team
created and come join us in the Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in

You're the SUNSHINE

 Hello and Welcome.
I had a fun play day after seeing the theme
and have made 2 cards very differently
for this challenge.
So nice to be able to spend more time
in my play room again and join in.

For my first one as it is so so sunny here my card started with
Tim's Rays Stencil inking with
Versafine Clair Summertime and Cheerful.
While the stencil was still in place I added
a touch of Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder.
I then die cut my daisies and heat embossed with
Stampendous Chunky White Enamel
to give them dimension.
Here's a close up
Also added a touch of the shimmer powder.
Placed my die cut Kaisercraft vellum leaves
then my flowers after inking the centres and
a touch of Nuvo Repened Pumpkin Drops.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations
Fond Expressions 2 inked with  Colorbox Rose Gold.
Finished with inking the edges with Tim's Spiced Marmalade
and adhering to white card base.
That's it for this card.
You will see my other very different card pretty soon.
Thanks for dropping in.

Word Week at Just Us Girls

Welcome to my Saturday.
Vicki is Hosting our Word Week at Just Us Girls
and chosen a very appropriate one with
Valentine's Day just around the corner.
As it is a new month we have a new Guest -
Welcome to the Talented Leslie Turner.

A pretty simple make using kraft card stock
die cuts from CUTplorations and Cuttlebug
in pretty pink and white.
Added some Art Alchemy Waxes to the hearts,
 backed with cheesecloth for interest
and a few splatters.
Framed in white onto kraft card base.
Pop over and see what our Guest Leslie Turner.
and the Team created for Valentine'vs Day.

Not your ordinary Spec's Case

Time to show you my latest Mixed Media project for
where our challenges are Anything Goes
with multiple mediums required.
Something a little different this month and fun to make.

I decided to dolly up a boring black spectacles case.

Started with black gesso
then went to work with stenciling adding chipboard, flowers,
cogs, keys, cheesecloth, magical's, waxes, pearls,
metallic paints and real chicken feathers.
Here's some photos.
The start!
and finish!

That's it for me this time round.
Pop over and see what my
Ever So Talented Team Mates created.
Then head into your creative space and create
some magic for our Gallery.
Love to see you there.

Live in the Moment

Hi there and Welcome to my Saturday post for
As we have 5 Saturday's this month it's our
Wild Card Week and the Lovely Lisa
wants us to do some Masking.
Here's my simple masking - and
it's my first make for 2021.
All the others you have seen were made before
I had knee surgery back in early December.

My favourite Visible Image Creative Chaos stamp
is an easy one to mask. All I had to do was stamp
the main image and cut out the head flower,
adhere it lightly and create a background then remove it.
I have used a few stamp sets here -
two I received from my dear talented crafty friend Mac Mable
(Big Thank You here)
who knows how much I love VI and AALL&Create stamps.
I inked AALL&Create #383 and
Visible Image Somewhere in Time for my background
with Tim's Black Soot and Hickory Smoke
and smooching Lindy's Sprays and Magicals.
The flower was inked with Dusty Concord Archival Ink.
Sentiment is from Visible Image Live in the Moment.
Gave it a light spray also with Perfect Pearls.
Adhered to purple card stock.
PS I so enjoyed making this card especially inking up
those new stamps - getting me back into my craft room.

Here a close up!

Pop over and see how our Guests
Carol and Melanie and the Team
played with masking their cards.
A Big Thank You to our Guests Carol and Melanie
for sharing their talents with us this month.
Hope to see you in the Gallery this week.
Thanks for dropping in.
