Creative Chaos at Just Us Girls

Elizabeth is our Host this week at
Just Us Girls and chose Rainbow.

I couldn't go past the fun of inking up
Tim's distress inks and wetting them
on w/c paper to let the colours drip and do their thing.
The sentiment from Visible Image Creative Chaos
fits perfectly here. Heat embossed clear after
inking with VersaFine Clair Nocturne.
Nothing else was needed here just added a
black frame onto white base and I am done.
You will see all sorts of amazing rainbow colours
in all different ways over in our Gallery
by our Guest Michele
and my Talented Teamies.
Check them out and come and have
a whole lot of fun by adding yours.
See you there!

Going Green!

Welcome to my post for Sisterhood Of Crafters
We are looking a little Green - could it be
some people are thinking
The Luck of the Irish!

I usually do but went in a different direction.
Once again I found a lovely background in my bits box
and a little Mixed Media was created with
stamping and stenciling the background
then inking up this lovely tree
and sentiment from STAMPlorations -  Wild and Free
Distressed the edges and inked in black,
adhering to green card base.
Head over to The Sisterhood and check out how my
Talented Mates chose to use GREEN on their projects.
Hope to see yours there.

#Update Sending this card over to
Try it on Tuesday as they are also looking GREEN

Thanks for visiting

Joy the the World!

We are looking for One Layer cards this month at
Do you find them hard or a favourite?
I'm a layer maker so this was a little different.

With a one layer card sometimes it is
a CAS one which I have here.
Stencils were inked on the background and tree
in traditional Christmas colours,
script stamping to the background.
Finished with a sentiment and inked edges.
Head over and see how the Team created
their one layer cards and come join in
with yours in the Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

We're back at Happy Little Stampers!

We had rather a long hiatus at Happy Little Stampers
but we are all back now ready to inspire you
for the rest of the year.
As part of the Stencil Team here is my inspiration for this month.

I recently purchased Tim's Artsy Stems
and have already uploaded another card I made
with these dies and similar colours  Here
Again the stencil I used is from
 AALL&Create  - #58 Mock-croc
using Tim's Distress Inks. I added the
Darkroom Door Coffee Stain with
VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves
for a background to my die cut.
Unfortunately the colours were too similar
and the flower is a little lost.
I added a touch of colour to the flower
and Nuvo Gloss to the centre,
splatters and a simple sentiment to finish.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and come join in with your stencil card
in our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

Be True to You...

I am Host at Just Us Girls for Colour Week and chose
Mustard Turquoise and Black.
Welcome to March and our New Guest Designer
Michele Ferguson.

I was having a play with shaving cream and stencils
a while back and these colours work perfectly together
You all know I love making backgrounds.

Here is a close up of the layered flower.

Flower, Stencil, Sentiment and background stamping
are from AALL&Create.
Flower head has been cut three times as you can see
from the close up.
Added thread to the background -
something Tracy Evans the designer of the
stamp I used does regularly.
Placed a black pearl to centre of the flower.
Backed by black frame overlapping the white card base.
Finished with a simple sentiment.
Head on over and see what our Guest Michele
and The Team created using the colours I chose
and hope you get a chance to add yours to the Gallery.
You could be chosen Chic of the Week
and go on to be our Guest in May.
Thanks for visiting

A Trio of Butterflies...

Hello and Welcome to my post for our
New Anything Goes Challenge
For my project and inspiration
I had a fun but somewhat messy time
(as you do with Mixed Media)
creating three very different  ATC's.

You know me as always I start off taking photos
and get carried away creating and forget along the way.
I started here with torn tissue paper pasted onto my
three ATC's (which disappeared in the end)
then added texture with a favourite stencil
from AALL&Create.

As I had butterflies out for another challenge
I decided to use up a few more here.
After the texture paste dried I added
Lindy's Magical's in different colours
for each ATC and let it run in various directions.
Collected elements to add to the backgrounds
with inked lace, sisel, cotton thread and a piece of coloured bark.
Coloured the butterfly with the same Magical's
to match the bark
and added a bead to the centre.
Added glossy accents to the butterfly wings.
and added a gem to the centre here.

Finished with some inking on the edges
a little coloured backing and sentiment
from Tim's Small Talk.
Hope you will pop over and see
what was created for you from
our Guest Designers and the Talented Team.

* Stop Press
We have the most amazing talented
Fiona Whitehead joining our Team
I'm Excited! Welcome Fiona.
Hope you can join in with this month's AG Challenge
using Multiple Mediums.

Sending this over to Try it on Tuesday for their
current challenge - Let's Get Messy Challenge
certainly did that!

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy reading your kind comments.

I Love 'Thistles'

It's Saturday and that means
Challenge Day at Just Us Girls
It's CAS Week and our Host Nancy chose
Colouring.

As it is CAS Week I wanted to use my
favourite 'wee' stamp I bought years ago when I was
holidaying in Bonnie Scotland. It only needs
minimal colouring - bonus for me.
I got out my 'long forgotten' little pots of colour
activating with a water brush using
LuminArte Mallard Green,
ColourArte English Lavender
and Colour Blast Apple of My Eye
(have you got them hiding in a drawer too)
for my thistle, leaves and background -
Nuvo Solar Flare for my flower.
Added some lavender flower soft to my thistle head.
Cut it out and framed. Attached to popped
backing that was scored at the bottom.
Wish I had a crimper as it would have been more noticeable.
Couldn't decide on a sentiment so left it blank for now.
Finished by adhering to card base.
Head over and see how our Guest Karen
and the Team created their CAS coloured cards.
Love to see yours in our Gallery.
We bid farewell to our Talented Guest Karen
and Thank You for sharing great inspiration
with us this month. We loved having you.
Thanks for visiting

Thinking of You

We are looking for Dots and or Stripes for
our New Challenge over at Sisterhood of Crafters

As you can see I went with SU Designer Paper that has both.
It is long retired but loved that pack.
I have made a card similar to this before mainly because
the paper does all the work.
A simple card using a few Spellbinder dies.
The flower is from Tim's Wildflowers
Sentiment - Crafts4You.
Head over and see how my Sistah's chose
to inspire you with their creations.
Hope to see yours in our Gallery.
Till next time -

A 'Pink' Reminder for Christmas Craft Creations

Launch Card Here it was only fitting I make a 'Reminder'

Christmas sentiment and die are both from Hero Arts.
SU Snow Bursts snowflakes inked in
Tip Top Taupe (both retired) and Tim's Saltwater Taffy.
Adhered to kraft base.
Head over and check out all the fabulous makes
already loaded. There is still time to enter your pink card over in

You are So Kind

Here is my second card for the Lime Green and Cyan Challenge

It is still a fairly CAS card layout wise.
I got out my retired SU Four Feathers set
inking with the same colours as my previous one -
VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze and Verdant
and die cut.
SU Baja Breeze sponged in the background.
Added a stamped strip from
SU Fresh Vintage, a MFT die and ribbon.
Cut a circle to rest my feathers on, added twine
and simple sentiment.
Inked the edges adding a white frame
before adhering to kraft card base.

It's a Quick CAS Artsy Card

Just having a bit of fun with this
quick cas artsy card trying out the
current colours at Color Hues
Cool eh!

As the heading states - this was a
quickie but I do have something else in the making so
  Stay tuned!

For this one though the background arty stamping is from
STAMPlorations and inked with VersaFine Clair
Warm Breeze,Verdant and Versacolor Lime.
The beautiful stamp is a
very old one from Kaisercraft Chapter One.
Sentiment is also from STAMPlorations.
I finished with adhering to retired SU card stock.

A Red Red Rose!

Which picture caught your eye on this Mood Board
our Host Vicki at Just Us Girls chose for this weeks Challenge?
Scroll down for the big picture!

The roses got mine and I went deep into
my stamp stash and found a very old one
from I don't know where but -  the rose is stunning
and the wording Belle Jardin is French for Beautiful Garden.

Here's a closer look!

Heat embossed then coloured the rose and leaves with
Nuvo Shimmer Powders in Catherine Wheel and Green Parade
spreading the colours behind the rose image.
After looking at it I decided that what went over the edges
would make a perfect background,
adding a small black frame and
on to white card base. Needing something else
I slipped a small piece of inked paper to the side.
Head over to Our Blog and check out what
our Guest Karen and the Team picked out
from the Mood Board. You will be delighted as always.
Hope to see you in our Gallery this week.

Leave a little 'Sparkle'

It's Saturday and that's Just Us Girls Challenge Day
I had a fun and messy afternoon after seeing a
'new to me' technique on YouTube.
It's Hot Glue Embossing and thought it would be
something different for our Word Week
hosted by Carol Mc choosing 'Sparkle'

and a closer look at the 'sparkle'

It does look just like a big mess that went wrong but -
I made quite a few. Some turned out,
others hmm! Just had to pick which one I liked
and go from there.
This was soooooooooo hard to photograph
to show the 'sparkle' (I tried)
I think the sparkly embossing powder
may have been a little too fine.
Background is smooched Magical's.
Dribbled hot glue and thought I would try and add foil
which worked out nicely then I smothered it with
very fine sparkly embossing powder.
Added a small frame behind it with the same paper
as my metallic base only a lighter weight.
After much searching I finally found a sentiment
that fitted the challenge perfectly -
Tim's Small Talk.

Decided to show another since I had several
sitting on my desk.
This is a little different - not sparkly as such
It was heat embossed in copper and added
Stampendous embossing enamel which highlighted
the sheen from the Magical's background.
Distressed the edges, added a sentiment,
framed in metallic paper and finished with
the bright card base.

What a fabulous challenge. Hope to see
lots of sparkle in all forms in the Gallery.
