You ROCK!

Vicki is our Host for our Colour Week at Just Us Girls
and it's a super combination with so many possabilities!
Greta Hess from GG Creations

My card is pretty basic. I had the dies already on my desk
so went with them in the colours above.
They are from MFT and background embossed brick is Kaisercraft.
Sentiments are from Paper Smooches inked with
Versafine Clair
(I loooove those inks)
Decided to add something a little different
to finish it off  - buttons. haven't used them in an age
and don't we all have a stash!
That's pretty much it!
OH! and this is the last of my three-fers after all
there are three colours in our challenge.
Love it when a card comes together as quick as this one.
Should be a fun gallery this week with these great colours.
Check out what our New Guest Greta and the Team created and
Hope to see yours there.

My Big Bold Beautiful Butterfly...

Once again it is time for our Anything Goes
Mixed Media Challenge at

It's always fun to move away from card making and
get into the Mixed Media Zone and play.
You never know how your project will finish.
While my friend was here recently we bought a few dies
and to our surprise the butterfly above was
way bigger than we thought. You could say
we didn't look at the size did we!
Worked out nicely for my MM project though.
I thought I would go softer on the colours this time round
as I do love Tim's Speckled Egg.
Here's the how and products I used with some progress photos!
Background is coloured with Lindy's Magical's
Distress/Oxide inks and Ken Oliver Metals.
Added circles from Dutch Doobadoo stamping by Kaisercraft
and stencilling with AALL&Create Cracked Walls with grit paste.
Inked die cuts adding Stampendous
Aged Copper Enamel and adhering to background.

Die cut THAT big butterfly with heavy weight paper.

I loaded up the die with Tim's Speckled Egg,
Lindy's Magical's and Stampendous
Aged Copper Enamel around the edges
and centre of the butterfly.
Added extra colour with AA waxes of
Rich Copper and Peacock.

Cheesecloth was added to the background
before attaching the popped butterfly.
Undecided as to a sentiment if it needed one.
Adhered to coloured card base to complete.

Head over and see what magical mixed media
has been created by our Guest Anita and my
Talented Team Mates to Our Blog
for your pleasure. We would love to see you
get creative and add your mixed media piece.
using multiple mediums to the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time out to
check out what I have been up to.

Case-ing a Design Team Member Challenge

July is a month where we have Five Saturday's and at
Just Us Girls we have our Case a Design Team Member's card.
Carol Mc Is Hosting.
This is where you create your card from
one of the Design Team's cards in this weeks challenge.

We all have an over abundance of DP's so I thought
I would cut up some beautiful roses from
Marianne Designs Dark Vintage pack.
My design only uses one piece of paper -
the red rose was top left then right and
bottom one underneath the rose. These were die cut
with SB Square Dies. I then pencilled the die edges
on the back of the dp and cut to get the frame.
These were slightly popped on white card base.
Sentiment is STAMPlorations Carved Flowers
inked in Tim's Abandoned Coral.
A pretty little CAS creation that
used up a lovely colourful piece of DP.
Yep - it's another three-fer card I didn't think of
till I photographed it, and I have done it
again coming up soon. OOPS!
Of course the Team have created
beautiful cards to entice you to case them
and enter in this weeks challenge.
Hope you head into your craft space
and do just that.
Thanks for visiting.

A Burst of Tropical Colours

We are going Tropical for the New Challenge at

What to me is more tropical than the
beautiful hibiscus flowers!

I added bursts of tropical colours for the background
touching up the floral hibiscus spray with extra colour
from STAMPlorations and popped an extra one on top.
Die cut the frame, added a pearl and sentiment.
Backed with coloured card stock onto white frame.
My Sistahs have created fabulous tropical bliss so
head over and check them out.
We would love to see your tropical creation
in our Gallery so come on over.
Thanks for visiting

Time for Tea...

It's our Photo/Mood Board Challenge at Just Us Girls
and Hosting is Lisa E choosing the most gorgeous array
of feminine softness.

Here's a larger view
Oh the endless possabilities we have in this beautiful Mood Board!

. As you can see I was inspired by
the gorgeous tea arrangement on the top right side.
I sanded my old CB folder to take away some of the
bright pink. My tea cup is from
STAMPlorations Always Tea Time
as is the sentiment which is a little hard to see
(There is no trouble so great that cannot be
much diminished by a nice cup of tea)
Both inked with Versafine Clair Glamerous
and heat embossed clear.
Tea cup is die cut with SB Floral Ovals
Finished with a few pink gems.
Head over and see how our Guest
and the Team took inspirations from the photo
to make their card for this challenge.
Hope they inspired you to
play along this week and add yours
to our Gallery.

What's Growing in your Garden?

What's growing in your garden?
The Design Team at  The Sisterhood of Crafters
are looking for beautiful blooms
or maybe the garden tools that you need to produce them.
There aren't many here at the moment as Winter arrived
but I am sure our Aussie Annie's garden will be 'blooming'

Cut out some woodgrain DP for my fence
with some inked shrubs in the background.
Added greenery and coloured flowers from my stash.
I thought the sentinent fitted the theme nicely.
Finished with some coloured/plain framing.
Check out what is in my Sisitah's gardens.
We would love to see yours in our Gallery.
Thanks for taking time to visit and comment.

Seashells by the Seashore!

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
Nancy is Hosting and I am sure she is thinking of the seaside
with the WORD -Seashells for this weeks Word Challenge.

I wanted to do something a little different for this one
and really did go way outside the box starting with
a seaside paper napkin attached to card base.
Then it all went from there.
The seaside has fish nets and shells abounding right!
so up to the shed I went and raided the
shell grit we give to our chickens.
There are two types there - some very tiny
and others more realistic.
The fish net is of course cheesecloth
for the shells to lay on. The hardest part was
waiting for the gel medium to dry
setting the shells in place. I did add some
clear crackle on a few items but hard to see.
Glossy accents on the bird and some shimmer
here and there.
Computer generated text to finish.

I took a couple of close ups to show you better detail
of all the different shells -

I had so much fun creating this Mixed Media project -
now head over and see what our Guest Kristen and
my Talented Team Mates created.
Love to see you get out those seashell supplies
and add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visitng.
Love to read your thoughts on my seashell piece.
Update! Just found a few new challenges to add this to
thanks to a friend. It is The Inspired Challenge

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Make

The new Anything Goes Mixed Media Challenge at

After a long hiatus Mo & Jo have returned to help me out
with this MIxed Media project.
It's good to be back in the swing of things with visitors
and holidays all behind me.
I have an abundance of collected straws so thought
I would put a few to ink and wax.
Started my background with a gessoed 5/7 canvas

Sorry these two photos were taken with the light above my work desk.

Added AA metallic paint and wax
placing the straws and chipboard pieces.
I then added bits and bobs from my stash
waxing as I went. The right hand corner is
an old Cuttlebug die I thought filled a space as I couldn't find
a suitable sentiment.
Splatters from my gold posca pen.
Added coloured stones, glitter and pearls.
Found a laser cut butterfly that fitted in nicely
and my project was complete.

Some close ups to show the detail!

We have Michelle
as our Guest this month so hop over and
check out what mixed media creations
we have all made for your inspiration.
Sure hope you get time to  add yours to the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time out to visit today.

Beauty begins -

It's time for our Anything Goes Stencil Challenge at

I saw a lovely CAS card over on Pinterest made by the
talented Karen Dunbrook Here and knew
I had the stamp set she used so have (cased) her card
using different colours and stencil.
The stencil is from ARTplorations Leaf Prints 3
and stamped flowers/sentiment STAMPloraions Beautiful You.
Stencilling is inked with Tim's Peeled Paint.
Attached to coloured card stock and
adhered to white card base.
This was a simple fun card and perfect for when
Mo and Jo are somewhere else.
Head over and see what the rest of the
Stencil Team created and come join in
with yours in the Gallery.
Thanks for dropping by

From Me to You

It's our Colour Week at Just Us Girls
Elizabeth is Hosting and chose Pastels.

A New Month brings us a New Guest Designer
Welcome to Kristin Sluhan

I wanted something simple so got out an old favourite
SU Four Feathers Stamp/Die Set.
Wasn't sure which way to go with the colours
so inked and die cut a few.
I used Tim's oxide inks in the soft colours of
saltwater taffy and salvaged patina.
Did some soft stencilling for the background
from Tim and Doobadoo
adding a few circles and one with opaque crackle texture paste
onto leathergrain card stock.
I landed up using smooched paper for the popped feathers
and embossed in white.
Tied a tiny tag with sentiment from ARTplorations
Attached to Bazzill card stock.
You are going to want to play with soft pastels
after you see what is in store from our Guest
and my Talented Team Mates aren't you?
See you in the Gallery!
You could be a Chic of the Week and be our Guest
just like Kristen
