A Quick Reminder

Just a quick reminder that the current challenge over at
Christmas Craft Creations is in full swing.
If  you haven't had a chance to play you do still have
just a bit longer.

I made a quick card again going with gold as my
one colour besides the black and white.
Dye cut my tree and attached to black
framed card stock adding gold thread and sequins.
Sentiment and snowflake are heat embossed.
Finished by adding to white card base.
Pop over and see how the Designers
chose to add their 'one' colour.
Hope to see you there.

Simply 'Merry Christmas'

It's time for our new Anything Goes Challenge over at

I went for CAS here using an unknown die cut
with gold paper adding my sentiment from Elizabeth Crafts
onto coloured card stock. Flicked some gold splatters.
Framed in gold and attached to
metallic card base.
A great card suitable for multiple makes.
Sorry this photo doesn't look the best.
You know how hard it is with glossy gold paper.
The sentiment also looks blurred because of the shine.
Pop over and see what my team mates created
and come join us in our Gallery.
Till next time -

Just for 'You'

Hello and Welcome to Saturday's Post for  Just Us Girls
Hosting this week is Lisa choosing such pretty colours.

I made this card a little while ago after I received
my early Birthday envelope full of fabulous dies.
You all know me and how I love a smoochy background -
Makes for an easy peasy card I used
Nuvo Shimmer Powders in all three colours.
The lovely big leaf die was one in my package'
I cut two but only needed half of the second one.
I then added another with vellum.
With such pretty colours a flower was called for.
Again using the three powders,
it was die cut from MFT Heirloom Rose.
Sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers.
Some Distress Glitter was added to the centre of the flower
and a few scattered Nuvo drops.
Finished by adding to turquoise card base.
Pop over and see what our Guest Nora
and my talented Team Mates prepared for your pleasure
and come play with us this week
by adding yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment.
Love reading your thoughts.

Birthday Wishes for The Sisterhood of Crafters

It's time for our New Challenge over at
Choosing the Theme is Sistah Diane
and a very popular one it will be too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A few close ups

Most of you know my favourite colour is PURPLE
so no brainer why I used it here.
I die cut my popped frame from
inked up paper using
Lindy's Magnolia Magenta Gold,
a smidgen of Screamin Banshee Black,
 Cosmic Shimmer Frosted Shimmer
(a little too much there) and
mopping up the leftovers for my arrangement
and a touch of Nuvo Green Parade Shimmer Powder
for the background leaf.
Sentiment is from Pink & Maine.
Die cut - My Favourite Things.
Adhered to white card base.
Pop over and see the beautiful
Birthday Cards the Sistah's created
and be sure to add yours to the Gallery.
Look forward to seeing you there.

A Snowy Christmas Creation

Hello and Welcome to my latest card for
and this month's theme is quite different.

Now you don't see too many Christmas Cards in black
so had to put my thinking cap on.
That is until I decided the Black Ice Technique
would be perfect.

For those that do not know of this technique
Check out the 'how to' from Melissa Kerman Here
The paper I used here wasn't the best but has turned out well.
The lovely large Conifer tree stamp is from STAMP-IT Australia.
Added lots of falling snow splatters
and a heat embossed greeting in white
on black paper and also around the edges.
Some matting in white and gold, adding some
gold cord and attached to black card stock.

Pop over and see what my Talented Team Mates created
and we would love to see you add yours in Our Gallery
Thanks for coming by and leaving your kind comments.
Till next time -

and inked the edges.
Added some Christmas ribbon,
a die cut snowflake and some scrunched up binding.

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to todays card for
Just Us Girls . It's Trend Week and
Hosting is Sue choosing something I have
never attempted before -

and it sure threw a curve ball at me.
It wasn't as easy as the Talented Jennifer McGuire
showed us Here
After umteen attempts this is what I finished with.

I had heat embossed my stencil but didn't turn out
as I wanted and nearly threw it away also then decided
to heat emboss again in green - ok that worked.
I then cut out my leaf and heat embossed that
with several colours adding some
Magical Powder and Wax.
I cut out a peek a boo die, popped on to
coloured card base.
Added coloured threads for interested
and a simple sentiment.
Pop over and see how our Guest Nora
and the Team made their cards.
Thanks for dropping in

The STAMPlorations Girls are Back!

We're Back at STAMPlorations  and ready to
inspire you after our little hiatus.
My  post as part of the Team is for our Stencil Challenge

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and knew the
ARTplorations Stencil -  Ethnic Flutter 1 was perfect.
Check out all the stencils Here
Unfortunately the one I used is retired.
I only did the one half of the butterfly with
Distress Grit Paste and once dry cut it out
and attached to  white card base.
The frame was cut with
 CUTplorations Basic A2 Nesting Dies
inked the same as the
fussy cut STAMPlorations Beautiful You flower
with Tim's Salvaged Patina and clear embossed.
Sentiment is from the set.
Finished with scattered pearls.
Pop over and see what
'all the girls' - not just the Stencil Challenge
created for your pleasure and you will be
wanting to add your project to our Gallery.
There are a few changes regarding the challenges
 so check it out  Here

Here are the available products I used -

Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday

There is a sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday
that I have wanted to make a card with and today
is that day. Even better the optional theme is
to use Plaid/Checks/Gingham - right up my alley
Check it out Here

Because I have used tartan paper from Boofle
(this was a gift from my bff some time ago
all the way from England)
it is a Christmas card.
The beautiful collage sheet makes for a
lovely background. I was very careful to add
my embossed angle so as to show off that
tartan to it's advantage.
A simple heat embossed poinsettia
with pearls were added after I die cut my gold leaves
from Tim's Holiday Greens.
Sentiment is die cut from Elizabeth Craft.

Heading over with this card for my second entry at

Thanks for dropping in and appreciate
your kind comments.

It's Merry & Bright

Time for our New Challenge over at

I have used the same lovely dp that was
in my card for August Here
but this time I embossed it with an old
Cuttlebug Christmas  Folder
I got out my big Cuttlebug snowflake die
and cut with white card stock adding melted
Stampendous Chunky White Embossing Enamel.

Sentiment is fron STAMPlorations
and the big & is heat embossed with
Ranger Red Cinnabar.
(I know you saw one similar recently but I just love that set)
I found some Christmas washi tape and
adhered it behind my snowflake which has
a lovely sparklet added to the centre.
Finished with a backing of red cardstock
onto white card base.
Hope you like what you see and head over
to see what my Team mates created
and add your to Our Gallery.

Popping this over to
Challenge #561 without the optional Joy Word
and at My Time to Craft theirs is #366 Embossing
Thanks for dropping in -
love reading your kind comments.

Color Hues Challenge #26

I had a little bit of  time up my sleeve and wanted to play at
The Colour Hues Challenge especially as one of the colours
is my favourite.

I got out a very old favourite SU stamp
and embossing folder to play with
an old favourite technique -
adding water to water colour paper
after heat embossing the Fifth Avenue Floral Rose,
dropping different colours and
letting them do their magic.
Hopefully the purple/pink combination
did it's 'thing'. Fussy cut it,
popping it in front of the embossed Manhatten Flower
Added some leaves, splatters, inked edges, tiny beads and
 sentiment  from Avant Garden with
Watering Can Archival Ink.

Thanks for dropping in -

It's Blooming PURPLE!

It's Saturday and you know that means -
New Challenge at Just Us Girls
I'm Hosting our Photo Challenge and
loved this one below on Pinterest.
Why? It's purple -  my favourite colour,
and my birthday coming up.
But my card is for my BFF's Birthday
which is just a few days before mine.
Oh and it is Spring here so there will be
some beautiful flowers blooming soon.

A few things to mention about my card -
the majority of the dies used here
are from my early birthday package -
she knows me well - couldn't wait so got them early
and have used quite a few of them already just not all of them!
The pretty paper was from her a few years ago
and blends in perfectly - Bazzill card stock.
The three gems on the flowers were also in my package.
Of course you knew the flowers were coloured with
 Lindy's Magical's!
The background dp is from my stash, stenciled lightly.
It looked rather dull so added
Tim's Distress Glaze for a bit of sheen.
The tub is from STAMPlorations Fluttery Stamp/Die set
I cut across the top to tuck in my flowers.
Added some Art Alchemy Waxes for added colour
and finished with crochet cotton bow.

There are such beautiful cards over on Our Blog
from the Talented Loll - our September Guest
and the Amazing Girls who - like me share their creativity
with you weekly. Check them out AND
hope you join in this weeks challenge with yours.
You could be my Chic of the Week!
As it is the last Saturday in September we bid farewell
to our Super Talented Guest Loll.
It's been such a pleasure to have her share her
works of art with us this month.

Thanks for dropping in and leaving your kind comments.

Love Planted a Rose

 Welcome to today's post for
Sistah Darlene has chosen Stencils as our Theme
and it is a favourite of mine.

I had so many ideas running through my head
but in the end went quite CAS.
My background is from my bits box
with the shaving cream technique.
I stenciled the ARTplorations Rose Duet with
texture paste and let dry. I then applied a
pearl white acrylic paint mixed with iridescent medium
to give it that extra sheen, matching the
grey background.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations About a Rose.
Attached to SU great card stock.
Pop over and see some fabulous stenciling
from my Sistah's and I am sure you will
want to play and add yours to our Gallery.
Hope to see you there.
